Now up for auction is this 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera S Cabriolet finished in Forest Green Metallic. In addition to its rare paint color, this first-generation 997 came optioned with 19” Carrera Classic wheels, the Bose High-End Sound Package, Exclusive stainless steel exhaust pipes, a premium Cocoa Natural Leather interior, and Tiptronic S shiftable-automatic transmission. Acquired by the current owner on PCARMARKET one year ago, this 997 Carrera S has since had its cabriolet top serviced and is now being offered for auction out of South Carolina with approximately 46k miles showing on the odometer.
This Carrera S was ordered in the rarely seen color of Forest Green Metallic with a Brown cabriolet top, Exclusive stainless steel exhaust pipes, and 19” Carrera Classic wheels with colored Porsche center crests. The seller reports only minor signs of road-going wear throughout the exterior and notes that the cabriolet top mechanism has been recently serviced with a new motor and hydraulic jacks. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The car rides on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires which were mounted approximately 18 months ago.
Inside, this 997 highlights a premium Cocoa Natural Leather interior with matching floor mats, heated power-operated seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and PCM with telephone and navigation modules. The driver is also supplied with a remote 6-disc CD changer, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and self-dimming mirrors. The soft-touch coating on the center console exhibits some wear and the seller reports all accessories and electrical features to be working properly.
This Carrera S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine rated at 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission that can be shifted automatically or manually using the gear selector or buttons mounted on the steering wheel. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is reached in approximately 5 seconds with a top speed of nearly 180 MPH. Standard routine maintenance has been observed and the last service was completed by Porsche Hilton Head in April of 2021 at 45,805 miles.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals and a clean title. Do not miss your chance to become the next owner of this beautifully appointed Carrera S Cabriolet.

@jlheslop - thanks so much. I appreciate your quick response. I actually saw this car on Pcarmarket last year when you bought it!
@Capeking77 The local Porsche dealer has serviced the car and did not recommend any IMS work, nor have I had any problems with it, or anything else for that matter, less the Ram Jacks and Pump for the convertible top, which I replaced last month. The rear suspension seems fine to me, I have not noticed any issues, and again the local Porsche dealership has not recommended any suspension work. As an aside, the dealership wants to buy the car and I'm using their appraisal as a guide regarding the reserve price I set.
Good morning @ seller. Back with two more questions.
1. Has the IMS ever been recommended or have you had any issues?
2. The rear suspension appears to be soft (based on the previous listing’s video last year. Does the suspension need replacement or serving?
Thanks
@Capeking77 - wash spots, no chips. all service records that were with the car when I bought it are included, as are all service records during the period I've owned it. The Carfax report reflects the services and service dates that are in their system.
Photo 18 of the hood shows spots on the hood, are those chips or just spots from a wash? Also, you mention regular servicing - are all records included?
