Finished in Black over a matching leather interior, this 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera Cabriolet features a 6-speed manual transmission as well as the optional Bose High-End Sound Package, heated Adaptive Sport Seats, a 3-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel, Silver seatbelts, 19” Carrera Classic wheels, and much more. This example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas showing approximately 44k miles on the odometer.
This 997 comes finished in Black with a matching convertible soft top. Compared to a base Carrera, the “S” model received red-painted brake calipers and quad exhaust outlets. Optional 19” Carrera Classic wheels are paired with color Porsche center crests and dressed in Michelin Radial X tires from 2019. The seller notes some wheel scratches and minor PPF bubbling on the front bumper, door handle, and fuel door. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black leather interior features optional Adaptive Sport Seats, seat heating, Porsche-crested headrests, seatbelts in Silver, and a leather-wrapped 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Additional options include the Bose High-End Sound Package, Aluminum-Look switch panel, floor mats with colored trim, metal doorsills with model insignias, and a wind-stop with Porsche lettering. The seller states the infotainment system has been upgraded to include Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay, and recent replacements include the driver’s door handle spring, the passenger-side window motor, and the windshield washer pump.
A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in less than 5 seconds while stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes paired with ventilated, cross-drilled discs at each corner.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “If you are looking for a garage kept 997 S Cab, this is the one. Plain and Simple. Take advantage of the current down-turned 911 market and buy this one. I have enjoyed my time with this car and would drive it anywhere. It has been fantastic for me. Everything is tight and as it should be. I mean everything! I bought a 997 turbo that I couldn’t pass up and do not have room for both. You will not be disappointed with this car. It is a fantastic example that anyone will be proud to own and drive. The color is right and the miles are right. Thanks for bidding. Good luck!”

@BluSwede hi there. i have no idea how to manage this as this is my first time using this site. I wish i could help more. have a great day and good luck bidding today!! We are down to only HOURS LEFT on this bid. Someone is going to get a really nice 911 here.
@Quackbury I was unable to find the Window Sticker. I was thinking I had it but it was for another car. I am sorry about that. Feel free to use the VIN provided in the pics to generate whatever you would like in regard to the Window Sticker. I do not have a DME report. Again, this car is very tight in all areas and runs really well. Good luck bidding.
Did the DME report ever get posted? The window sticker? @ASandor4 the DME report shows over-revs. Particularly important if someone misses a shift and goes into 2nd when trying to find 4th.
Also if you don't have the original window sticker, you can create a new version quickly and easily at VINalytics.com.
Hello: newbie here--how do i sign up for text notifications and how do I find when partcular auctions end thanks JJ
Relatively clean car. I see some scratches on the wheels which is expected with the 44k miles. The seats seem a bit more worn than expected.
Do you have the window with the options list?
I assume it is not a full leather as the dash is vinyl.
Do you have the photos of the services that were performed on the car?
@BluSwede thank you for asking. There is a reserve. Good luck with your bid. I hope you get it.
Is this a reserve auction? Is there a "buy it now" price?
Regards, Jeremy in Oregon
@moneydealer hi there. The car has zero signs of anyone ever smoking in it. This goes for the ash tray and the lighter. No smoke or other offensive smells whatsoever. I think I do have the original sticker. I’ll check when I get home. I know the owner from which I bought it from only. The car comes w two matching keys (also black). I only have the service papers from when I bought it. Everything checked out fine. I had fluids replaced immediately when I bought it. I always do that for good measure. The cars overall condition would suggest that the previous owners garage kept it also. The last owner did for sure. I most certainly do. Thanks for your questions. Good luck with your bid! This is a good one that someone needs to take advantage of!
Do you have the Original Sticker ?
Does car come with 2 keys ?
Did anyone ever smoke in the car ?
Did previous owners keep the car in the garage as well ?
Do you know the previous owners ?
Do you have service records to post online ?
thanks
@Sharkthecat cool> glad you found it. Good luck with your bid!!!
@Rlanning believe it or not, sometimes tire places have other than 'current year' stock. Tires often cross multiple years, particularly those that are of an uncommon size or profile. Regardless I'd never buy a car I intend to drive without putting tires on it.
@Sharkthecat …sorry, found the complete Carfax with the pics.
I can not pull up the complete Carfax. I think I clicked on everything. Thank you.
That’s not what the knowledgeable authors of IMS articles say. The engine number will tell if it is out of the more serious danger zone. Low mileage cars are just as vulnerable as high mileage cars, according to the knowledgeable experts who deal with this issue on a daily basis.
@Rlanning I just had my 19yo son lay on his back to look for this number. He could not find it and I do not own a car lift. I am pretty confident if the IMS bearing was going to be an issue, it would have shown up long before now. That is (again) from our local specialist. I’m sorry I cannot be more helpful on this. I’ve owned the car for around a year and drive it often. I still drive it once a week while it is for sale.
The IMS bearing was updated in the 2006-2008 models but it still can fail, but at a very small percentage rate compared to the previous years 1999-2005. Can you please provide the engine number? It’s located on the drivers side of the engine that can be seen when under the car. It starts with M/96 or M/97. Thanks, Rlan
@Rlanning hi there. I do not know if the IMS bearing has been replaced. I was told by our local Porsche specialist not to worry about it. That is the owner of Werks11 (Julian). What is a DME report? I’m not a technical person but I do own three Porsches and love driving them lol. I think the car fax is provided in the images, right? I will look when I am get home to see if we accidentally loaded only parts of that report. We have nothing to hide here. This car is super tight and drives perfectly without any mechanical or other issues. If I had room to keep it, I would. I bought a 997 turbo 3 months ago which needs to go in this cars space. Thank you for your questions.
Can you provide the complete Carfax report? Has the IMS bearing been replaced? Can you provide a DME report? Thanks, Rlan
Bid in the amount of $20,000
@Rlanning these tires were on the car when I bought it. I was not aware that they are all different until now. I hope this helps.
The info section says the tires are from 2019, but the tire dates on three of the five tires pictured are 2017,2016,2013. Please explain the reason for the discrepancy. Thanks, Rlan
