Up for auction is this 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera Club Coupe.  The Club Coupe was created as a limited edition model paying homage to the Porsche Club of America's 50th anniversary.  Designed specifically for club members, the PCA worked hand-in-hand with designers in Germany, to create the eye-catching sports car that you see today.  Being 1 of only 50 models produced, this car is one of the most significant pieces of modern Porsche history.  When first introduced, Porsche decided to build No.1 and No.50 simultaneously making this car, No.49, the last one ever built.  This car has been in Florida for its entire life and currently shows just 19k miles on the odometer.

Being the winner of several Concours d’Elegance events including the Overall Group Award at the 2006 Parade in Portland, it is clear that this car is in immaculate condition.  The rare and hand-selected Azure California Metallic is standard on all 997 Club Coupes and shows to be like-new.  A few key design features of the Club Coupe include Silver Porsche script along the bottom side panels, and the iconic 19” Sport Design wheels.

This Club Coupe is believed to be the only example delivered with a rare Black and Stone Grey leather interior.  It currently stands in excellent condition showing very minimal wear.  Factory options include Sport Chrono Package, Sport Shifter, Navigation, Heated Full Leather Sport Seats, Carbon Fiber Package, Exterior Color-Matched Center Console, Instrument Dials in Black, and Silver Seat Belts.

Thanks to the desirable X51 performance package as standard, the Club Coupe features a larger 3.8L flat-six cylinder engine that is capable of producing 381HP (+26 above stock) and 306 lb-ft of torque (+11 above stock).  This package also includes modifications to the exhaust and cylinder heads, along with a larger throttle body.  This makes for an impressive 0 to 60 time of just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of over 185 mph.  Performance is enhanced even further due to the Porsche Stability Management System (PASM) which significantly increases handling capabilities.  Service records since new will be provided with the sale showing that the car has always been properly maintained and well cared for.

The sale will include all books, service records, keys, factory car cover, color-matched custom front bumper guard, extra floor mats, custom Porsche umbrella for side door pocket, and 2 special edition "Club Coupe" baseball caps.

@GCurts I’m afraid your records are incorrect. Here is the build sheet. It clearly shows black/stone gray bi color interior.

@DZ Sorry, I don't have the Kardex, but do have the original delivery paper work.

  • GCurts (seller) 5 years, 2 monthsago

@SpeedJunky My records show that #39 was delivered to Paul H. In Canada with a Stone Grey interior, not Stone Grey/Black.

Regarding the IMS, I want to make sure my previous comment is not misconstrued. I was not saying that there are club coupes with IMS failures. I was saying that IMS failures, in 997.1 models in general, were extremely rare and should not scare away any potential buyers.

  • SpeedJunky (registered bidder) 5 years, 2 monthsago

@Gcurts there were several. One example is WP0AB29916S745039. I have records on others that I can dig up if needed.

Beautiful CC. I own #33 and no IMS issues so far (about 18 K miles on the clock and driven across Europe). It`s a beautiful 911. Regards from Prague

Just wanted to vouch for the seller he is a “very” :) long time PCA member and his cars are always first rate as he is.

@SpeedJunky I was the 50th Club Coupe advocate for PCA until last year when the 50th and 60th CC were combined. This job allowed me to keep a data base of these cars that listed, among other things, the options on each car. Now there were a few CC's that were not on the data base because I could not find the owners, but #49 is the only one that had the grey/black interior. This option was not available until very late in the manufacturing period. If you know of another car with the grey/black interior, please let me know and I'll update the data base. Also, I never heard of any other CC that had the IMS bearing failure.
    Thanks for your comments.

@ftsuru The car does have 100% original paint. In fact everything is original except tires, radio knobs, and wipers. This car is essentially perfect.

  • SpeedJunky (registered bidder) 5 years, 2 monthsago

Beautiful car. This blue looks even better in person. The two tone interior is not unique on this club coupe. Many came with this option, but that shouldn’t take away from its desirability. The IMS issue in this car is the same as all other 2006-2008 997.1s. That is to say, it’s really a non-issue. IMS failure was common in 2005 and earlier models. From 2006 on, it was extremely infrequent, although there are some documented cases. Don’t let that keep you from acquiring a phenomenal car.

Does this car have 100% original paint?

@ftsuru According to my dealer, this car post dates the IMS bearing problem. I have had absolutely no problem with this car except the sticky radio knobs which have been replaced twice. The car performs beautifully.

  • ftsuru (registered bidder) 5 years, 2 monthsago

Does this car have the same IMS issue as its other 997.1 variants or does the X-51 package repair that problem? How different does this drive from the standard 997.1? I have a 2007 C4S and think it is one of the best Porsches ever made. This one appears to be better. Thanks in advance for the information and GLWTA!
This is a fabulous looking car and great exclusivity.

  • GCurts (seller) 5 years, 2 monthsago

@nosubstitute4porsche The "Club Coupe" script on the sides is not a factory item. I ordered it aftermarket because I liked the script and it was recommended by one of the principal players that coordinated the CC's between PCA and PAG. I believe there may be one other CC with the same side script.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (registered bidder) 5 years, 2 monthsago

hello great looking car!! Are all club coupes suppose to have that "logo " on the side of the door? I have one that doesn't that came from canada and porsche of north houston had one for sale a month or maybe 6 weeks ago on BAT that didn't either? Mine is 1 of 2 Canadian cars with wero kit and tan interior and i will never part with it.. GLWS... i really like the gray interior too!!

  • GCurts (seller) 5 years, 2 monthsago

I won the lottery and was the original owner. The car was first registered in my company, then sold to Pete Bartelli with the condition I could buy it back which I did a few years ago. This is really a nice example of the 50th Club Coupe, owned and cared for by Concours fanatics.
I am happy to answer any questions and love to talk about these cars.
