This 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera Club Coupe is one of only 50 limited-edition examples built to celebrate the Porsche Club of America’s 50th anniversary. Offered exclusively to club members, the individually-numbered Club Coupe is finished in Azurro California metallic paint and comes equipped with the X51 Powerkit, Sport Seats, SportDesign wheels, and special commemorative trim pieces. Designated as #38, this Club Coupe is now being offered for auction by its second owner out of Alabama with approximately 30k miles showing on the odometer.
The Club Coupe is finished in Azurro California, an exceedingly rare metallic shade borrowed from Ferrari's color palette. This paint was reportedly chosen as a modern interpretation of Porsche's historic Azure Blue color offered during the early 1950s. A set of factory 19” SportDesign wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The seller adds that paint protection film has been applied ahead of the rear wheels, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
This limited-edition model's interior is appointed with black leather and features a 3-spoke steering wheel, a Sport Shifter, a painted center console, and “911 Club Coupe” aluminum door sills. Other equipment includes Adaptive Sport Seats, Bose High-End Sound Package, and a dash-mounted stopwatch as part of the Sport Chrono Package Plus. The seller adds that an authorized Porsche dealer recently replaced the driver and passenger window motors, and some signs of wear are present on the climate control knobs.
The X51 Power Kit is standard in the Club Coupe, increasing the output of the 3.8-liter flat-six Carrera S engine from 355 to 381 HP and torque from 295 to 306 lb.-ft. Distinguished by its carbon fiber air cleaner housing, the Power Kit offers engine enhancements including a larger throttle body, optimized intake airflow, cylinder heads and exhaust manifold modifications, changes in the control unit, and the addition of a sport exhaust system. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission resulting in a 0 to 60 MPH time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 186 MPH.
This sale will include a clean title.

@6speedTina -- The car is a 997.1 and, as a Carrera S, has the M97 3.8 liter engine (with X51 Powerkit) -- meaning that it does, in fact, have an IMS bearing. The M97 engine is the power plant for the Carrera S up until 2009 when the 9A1 engine came out, which is the direct injection engine to which you are referring.
@AK9eleven on these later direct inject engine there is no IMS/RMS to replace - completely different engine/block/internals than the earlier M-code engines from the 996.1/.2-997.1 engines.
You can replace/service the IMS on a 2006-2008 997. It is just MUCH more involved than it is on the earlier models. Requires some engine disassembly.
@AK9eleven Why cannot replace IMS on the 3.8 motor?
