The seller would like you to know: “This a fantastic opportunity to own a stunning, well-taken-care of 997.1. Feels like the last of the pure, minimalist driver's car before too much technology and size invaded the model. The perfect driver's car that still looks amazing !”

Thanks for your interest and questions everyone. You should all know that I bought and have treated this car like it was going to be my forever cabriolet. As it turned out my wife and I are just too attached to the memories we’ve made so far with our 996 cab to let that one go. So our miscue is gonna be someone else’s score. It’s in really nice shape, absolutely stunning color combo, and ready to enjoy worry free the minute you take delivery! Good luck everyone!

@GT3forme from what I’ve been told this engine has the non serviceable IMS. I did try and get a shop to do a DME report and to get some paint meter readings, but we weren’t able to make it happen before the auction’s ending today. If you have any other questions I’ll be here to answer the best I can.
Hello Sir,
1. Has the IMS bearing issue been addressed?
2. Do you have paint metering photos?
@Sailor_Pete the driving videos have been uploaded.
@ VaheA thanks so much for the bid!
@Sailor_Pete thinking about it I should mention that the cd player no longer works due to the new PCCM system. It did work, the new system designed by Porsche doesn’t support them.
@Sailor_Pete that’s correct. Everything works as it should. Heated seats, A/C, rear defrost, and all the windows operate normally and extend and retract correctly with the tops movement. The only aftermarket piece on the car is the shift knob. The only thing that I can say isn’t working is the microphone for the Bluetooth and that’s just because I never installed it. It’s in the box with the old radio which is included. I had no need for it so I skipped that part. Easy enough install for any mechanic, audio person, or definitely a dyi hour long project.
@Philip4140 Thank you for all the responses so far. Are all the electronics working properly (a/c, radio, windows, seats, etc.)? Other than the shifter knob and PCCM, any other modifications or aftermarket additions?
I uploaded an instrument cluster photo taken at idle, at full operating temperature. I’m here all weekend if anyone else has any requests that require me to drive her just a few more times. Thanks all for the interest and @Epicmc for the bid.

@Philip4140
Thank you for the photos
Please upload a photo of the cluster at idle at operating temperature
More info the better the results
Much appreciated
@VaheA I took screen shots from the video and was able to get them uploaded

@seller
Thank you
I will keep an eye out for the videos
@VaheA Absolutely! I did it during each driving video. Once when the car was cold and once when the car was at temp. I’m hoping they get posted this weekend.
Can you post a video
Or photo of the instrument cluster so we can see all the warning lights off while the car is running at temperature?
Bid in the amount of $10,000
@Philip4140 Great, thanks!
@Sailor_Pete Finally stopped raining after 3 days. I uploaded a few videos to the auction site just now. Hopefully tomorrow they will be posted. Have a great night and thanks for your interest !
@Sailor_Pete I have a small clip that I made the other day, but it was terrible and I was by myself. If this lousy upstate NY rain breaks which looks like Monday, I will get out with my son and try again. As for the DME, it doesn’t look like my schedule is gonna be able to have it done by the end of auction. I can very comfortably say that the car runs and drives perfect. No smoke from the tailpipe, and no strange engine noises at any RPM. I will do my best for a decent driving video for everyone before the auction ends on Tuesday.
@Philip4140 Could we get a driving video as well? Would also be interested in the DME. Beautiful car. GLWTA!
@Philip4140 that would be great and I’m sure other guys/gals will be grateful.
@Paul.columbus I’m working on getting an over rev report done. Hopefully I can get it done in time.
@Philip4140 thanks, you don’t have to upload the paperwork but if you see something that would cause concern then that would be appreciated. Yea I figured that might be the case with the interior, I wish you had an over-rev check but if not oh well😊 thanks again!
@Paul.columbus thanks so much for the compliment and interest. I’ll do my best to answer your questions
1. As far as the seats, to my knowledge they haven’t been replaced. Mostly I think it’s lighting making it more drastic. Overall the interior is an 8/10. That being said, it being a west coast cabriolet almost its entire life, there are a few shades of sand beige in some spots from the sun, which is also very common.
2. The maintenance I can speak of is what I had done. Which was the left valve cover reseal because it was leaking, the coils and plugs because they were original, and an oil change. All the other items over the years I’m sure are a mix of maintenance and prevention. I could upload each service invoice for you if that would help answer some of those questions in more detail.
3. I unfortunately don’t have an over rev/DME report.
Hello, beautiful car! Just a few questions,
1. The pictures and video seem to show that the passenger seat is a “lighter” color, it could just be the lighting, or was this replaced?
2. All the maintenance work that was done was that preventive, or did any of these things fail ie. The water pump?
3. Finally do you know or have any paperwork on Over-Revs?
Thank You
Welcome to my auction, and thanks for taking a look at my 997. She’s going to be a great enhancement to someone’s life very shortly. Absolutely drives like a dream, interior is in amazing shape, and is in perfect shape to just buy and drive! I planned on owning this one for a while, but we all know about plans. Good luck everyone and I’m here to answer anything that I can.
