Up for auction is this 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera 4S Cabriolet presented in a Black over a Black full leather interior. A lifelong California car, this 997 remains beautifully presented with some tasteful modifications including an updated Pioneer radio with Apple CarPlay and upgraded 20” Techart wheels. Showcasing factory options including the Sport Chrono Package Plus, Bose High-End Sound Package and 6-speed manual transmission, this 997 is now being offered with approximately 53k miles showing on the odometer by its seller in Agoura Hills, California.
The Black finish is said to be in good condition with some minor stone chips on the front end (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). A cosmetic incident is shown on Carfax in 2014 which is said to have resulted in the left rear quarter panel and bumper being professionally refinished. As an all-wheel-drive variant, this 4S shares the wide fenders of the Turbo model which provide for a more robust overall appearance. Clear side marker lenses have been installed, the windows and taillights have been tinted, and aftermarket 20” Techart wheels have been equipped which are finished in black and dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
The luxurious Black full leather interior is reported to be in excellent shape. The climate control buttons are shown to be worn; however, a set of replacement buttons will also accompany the sale. An updated Pioneer double-din head unit with Apple CarPlay has been installed and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly. The original Porsche Communication Management system (PCM) is included in the sale and the following options are listed on the $109,600 factory specification sheet:
This first-generation 997 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8 L flat-six engine rated at 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque. All 4 wheels are driven by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission allowing this 4S to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.7 seconds while reaching a top speed of nearly 180 MPH. The optional Sport Chrono Package Plus also enables the driver to select between different performance settings while underway. All necessary service items have been addressed including the replacement of the water pump in June of 2016 and a new clutch installed in May of 2017 as well as a new steering rack and right front axle installed recently in 2020. This Carrera 4S is said to be in fantastic driving condition while meeting California emissions standards.
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, the original PCM, service records, owner’s books, a Porsche car cover, a clean title, and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. This 2006 Carrera 4S Cabriolet offers an incredible value, do not let this opportunity pass you by.

Car looks great! Interested to see how this goes.

@scragin The top is in really good shape and does not have any holes in it. I'm in the Los Angeles area so the top is down most of the time, enjoying our great weather.
Is there a hole in the top near the rear of the driver's side window?
@Zero8ball It was a pleasure to meet you. Perfect day to be on Pacific Coast Highway!
@cab2door It is my understanding that engine numbers up to 68509790 have the older IMS bearings. Engines with a higher number have the larger, revised IMS. The engine number on this car is 68609990, so it was manufactured using the newer bearings.
@rzeman What is your assessment of the IMS bearing risk on this car? Since it is a late 2005 production, has it been addressed?
Also, any signs of bore scoring on any cylinders (inspection, or dark soot on one side of exhaust)?
Sorry about so many questions. Thanks
This car was awesome to drive. Drove it yesterday!
@cab2door BTW, the car was on consignment at the dealer, so they didn't own it, were just selling it for the previous owner.
@cab2door I bought the car from a dealer. I asked the same question. They told me it was only cosmetic painting of a couple panels.
So auction day is finally here. Please let me know if you have a question or if I can help in any way.
@rzeman Can you detail the accident (and repair) listed in Carfax?
Thanks
Can you give detail about the accident listed in the Carfax report?
