Up for auction is this 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera 4S Coupe finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with a removable Bright Green vinyl wrap.  This 2006 example came factory equipped with the optional Sport Exhaust System, Sport Shifter, the Sport Chrono Package Plus, 19” Carrera Classic wheels, and a Sand Beige interior with supple leather seats.  Acquired by its fourth and current owner in March of 2018, this 997 has since been serviced and upgraded with a genuine Aerokit front bumper, GT3 rear wing, OZ Leggera HLT wheels, an integrated radar detector, and a custom high-end sound system.  It is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Maryland with approximately 33k miles showing on the odometer.

This 997 has been professionally wrapped in Bright Green 3M vinyl film, a shade that closely resembles Porsche’s new Python Green color.  A factory Aerokit front bumper has been installed along with European-spec taillights and a GT3 rear decklid with a fixed carbon-fiber wing.  The factory Midnight Blue Metallic finish remains preserved beneath the vinyl wrap, and the seller notes that some minor stone chips are present on the hood and front bumper as well as one small chip on the rear bumper.  Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  This Carrera 4S rides on a set of dark grey painted 19” OZ Leggera HLT wheels dressed in Pirelli P Zero tires installed 3.5 years ago within the last 4k miles.  The factory 19” Carrera Classic wheels are said to accompany the sale along with the original front bumper and rear decklid.

Inside, this 997 sports a Sand Beige interior with supple leather seats front and rear.  Other options include self-dimming mirrors, navigation for PCM, a Sport Shifter, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and heated front seats.  Under the current ownership, an upgraded Alpine head unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto has been installed along with upgraded Blam speakers, a Helix Psix amplified DSP mounted in the trunk, a rearview camera, and a K40 RL360i radar detector system including laser jammers and a custom mounted controller in the ashtray.  The original Bose audio components are said to accompany the sale and the seller reports an error code on the dashboard for the rear spoiler.

This Carrera 4S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine rated at 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque.  All four wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.6 seconds and a top speed of approximately 180 MPH.  The 4S comes standard with PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) and the fixed 4-piston brakes of the 997 Turbo.  This example also came optioned with Sport Chrono Package Plus and the Sport Exhaust System.  CARFAX shows a long history of service, and the seller reports new OEM ignition coils and spark plugs to have been installed upon their purchase at 30k miles along with an oil service.

This sale will include a clean title. Sparingly driven and tastefully modified, this eyecatching 997 is just waiting to be enjoyed by a new owner.

    @wrightj pics are now loaded.

  • wss202 (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @wrightj I just sent the 2 images of it when it was blue to PCarMarket and they will load it onto the site for you to view. The original paint was in good condition. Their is a small amount of rock chips on the hood and or front bumper, but the blue paint shows nice.

  • wrightj 2 years, 11 monthsago

    Do you have any pics of the car without the wrap? What kind of condition is the original paint in?

    I second the earlier question about seeing a bore score report and DME report. Would really help.

    Thanks!

    @Hotwheels I have just given the images you requested to PcarMarket and they said they would upload them shortly. The stock rear decklid was wrapped in green, but can easily go back to blue. I forgot we wrapped it to see how we liked it compared to the GT3 wing. Let me know if you have any more questions after you see the images.

    @wss202 you know how much more money you would get with
    A ppi, bores scope and Dme report. Risk reward scenario.

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    It’s back to blue with me. I’ll bid.

  • wss202 (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @Hotwheels here are my answers to your questions in the order you gave them to me.
    1. Error light should go off. It can also be coded out if the current spoiler is kept.
    2. It has not been done.
    3. No
    4. 2 keys and all manuals in black leather case.
    5. I can take photos and will work on it.
    6. Vehicle can be put back to stock if desired. That is always our goal on any Porsche upgrades we perform at my store is the ability to go back to a stock appearance.

    #wss202 can you please provide the following information;
    1) Would the rear spoiler error code light turn off if the original rear deck lid with spoiler was reinstalled?
    2) Can you do a DME report?
    3) Have you had cylinders borescoped?
    4) How many keys come with car and are all the original manuals included?
    5) Can you please post photos of original front bumper, rear deck lid, wheels, taillights and Bose sound system
    6) Was anything cut/drilled/modified for installation of aftermarket sound system, rearview camera and radar detector?

    Thank you
