Now available for auction is this 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera S Cabriolet finished in Black. Ordered with premium Brown Natural Leather upholstery, the Bose High-End Sound Package, navigation, exclusive metal door sill model insignias, and an optional Tiptronic S transmission, this Carrera S commanded an original sticker price of over $111k. Acquired from its second owner out of Florida while always garage-kept and regularly maintained through Porsche dealers, this Cabriolet is now being offered for auction out of Maryland showing approximately 32k miles on the odometer.
This 997 comes finished in Black and features red-painted brake calipers as standard on the Carrera S. The factory 19” Carrera S wheels are paired with optional colored Porsche crest center caps and Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Custom black and red lettering has also been applied at the rear. The seller reports the car to have been recently detailed and notes some minor scratches on the lower front spoiler. A removable 35% tint has also been applied to the windows. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in premium Brown Natural Leather upholstery including optional heated and power-operated seats. Exclusive metal door sill model insignias are also equipped from the factory along with self-dimming mirrors, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and navigation for PCM. An aftermarket XM Radio receiver has been integrated as well as a hidden K40 radar detector system. The seller notes the aftermarket receiver has been disconnected at the fuse and can be reconnected if desired.
The naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine delivers up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. The optional 5-speed Tiptronic S transmission allows for both automatic and manual gear changes while providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds. Accompanying service records date as far back as 2010 with most routine maintenance completed by Porsche dealers in Florida. An oil service will be completed prior to the next owner’s purchase along with wheel repair to address curb rash.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner's manuals, service records, a set of two keys, and a clean title.

@Dcowles the hard top was sold by the previous owner who did not need/ want it. The hood has some small chips and there is some typical minor rash under the chin spoiler which I have pictured.
The sticker indicates a hard top, but there is no pictures of it.
Also, is the hood the only place of paint chips?

@Neugie I have done the best I can with the drain area photos and they are posted at the bottom of the picture list. Roof operation video to follow shortly.

@Neugie I am listed as a dealer as this is my brother in laws car that I am selling for him and PCAR listed me as such. It is actually a private sale. I have not had the car checked for revs and will see if I can have that done when the oil service is completed
Being listed as a dealer, have you been able to check for any over revs in the six stages with an analyzer? Thanks again for the information.
@Neugie No issues raising or lowering the top and I am trying to get the video loaded as well as the pics of the drains
Bid in the amount of $10,750
any problems with raising or lowering the soft top?
Thanks for the quick reply.
@Neugie there is nothing missing that i know of. The nav component and disc changer were the only electronic components in that space.
Can you tell us what is missing from the upper right of the Frunk located navigation system area/ thanks for your patience!
@Neugie I will get the photos and have them uploaded. I have not had any issues with wetness and the car has always been garaged when not in use.
Have you had an opportunity to check the condition of the drains for the convertible top? If possible a photo would be appreciated.
Bid in the amount of $10,500
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Thanks for the additional information. Much appreciated
@Neugie I will take a video in the morning as it is raining in my part of the country. I have spoken with a long time Porsche tech and he does not feel the car needs it. He told me that there are tell tale signs but as long as the car is serviced regularly and oil changes are done every two years (this is getting done this week) and the car does not knock or overheat (two of the signs) that the car will be fine.
The elephant in the room is the IMS bearing issue. Has it been professionally delt with or is the risk expected to be absorbed by the new owner? Also, please include a short video of the top being raised and lowered. Thanks
@Jczz74 yes, the car has a clean carfax which is pictured in the the listing for review.
Clean car fax???
@Schwebby66 No, the hard top was sold by the previous owner who did not need want it.
Hard top still with the car?
Welcome to my auction and thank you for taking the time to review the photos and information on this great car! I look forward to answer any questions along the way and wish everyone good luck!
