Introduced as the top-tier performance variant of the Evolution IX, the MR (Mitsubishi Racing) edition featured a 6-speed manual transmission, Bilstein dampers, forged BBS wheels, a roof-mounted vortex generator, lightweight aluminum body panels, and a carbon fiber rear wing. This 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four and has an active center differential and front and rear limited-slip differentials. Finished in Graphite Gray over a black interior, it comes equipped with Brembo brake calipers and has been modified with JDM OEM lighting and bucket seats, a Tanabe cat-back exhaust, BC Racing coilovers, and a Rockford Fosgate sound system. Showing just over 33k miles on the odometer, this well-equipped Evo IX MR is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
This example is finished in Graphite Gray and features an aluminum hood, fenders, and roof-mounted vortex generators. Exterior details include a front airdam, a carbon fiber rear wing, a Perrin short antenna, unique MR badging, and JDM OEM headlights and taillights. It rides on forged 17” BBS alloy wheels wrapped in Sumitomo tires bearing 2016 date codes, which are noted to be in good condition. The seller reports peeling clearcoat on the spoiler and minor scratches on the front fender, front bumper, and rear bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior features black upholstery with JDM OEM Recaro front bucket seats and a Momo steering wheel. Amenities include power accessories, air conditioning, and three dash-mounted accessory gauges. An upgraded audio system has been installed, consisting of a Rockford Fosgate R2-750X5 amplifier mounted under the driver’s seat, four Rockford Fosgate P1650 door speakers, and an Alpine UTE-73BT head unit. The seller notes that the boost and oil temperature gauges are currently inoperative, and there are minor scratches on some plastic surfaces and fading of the suede on the armrest. All other gauges and electronics are reported to function properly with no warning lights illuminated.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4G63 inline-four, which delivers a factory-rated 286 HP and 289 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, an active center differential, and front and rear limited-slip differentials. Braking power is facilitated by red-finished Brembo calipers at all four corners, and modifications include a Tanabe cat-back exhaust system and BC Racing coilovers.
This sale will include a spare tire, a factory radio, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I have owned this car for 2 years. I have put about 9,000 miles on the car. The car is stock. I changed the oil every 2,500 - 3,000 miles, changed the transmission fluid once I bought the car, and did the usual overall maintenance as expected. Haven’t had any mechanical issues ever since owning the car.”

@Cubonetheshiba I was running late to work so I had no time to take them, I apologize
@Cubonetheshiba I hate leather, so I wanted the all suede versions of the Evo 9 seats
@jasonevo9 Any update on the photos for the front underbody?

@jasonevo9 Why were the seats swapped?
@TheKBCollection No I don't have any receipts for the timing belt/wp service.
The car has been driven in the snow. (Each time I drove in the snow, I wait about a week for all the salt on the ground to clear up, and then I go to a self-service car wash, and pressure wash the bottom of the car and wheel wells with soap/water).
I do not have the original seats.
Do you have any recent receipts for a timing belt/wp service? Was this MR ever driven in the snow? By chance do you have the original seats? Thank you!
I’m excited to watch this as I have a stock 9 MR with SE package, but I’m not sure this site is going to present it to the right buyers. Iconic car.

@Cubonetheshiba I will try to snap a few photos before I go into work tomorrow morning.
@Cubonetheshiba The strut tower along with the overall chassis as a whole doesn’t have much rust. Most of the rust you will see is from parts, such as some engine bolts, the ABS module, strut brace, etc.
Can we get some front underbody photos?
Any rust? The strut brace has some rust. How is the strut tower?
@Mochima No, there are no other problems.
Are there any known problems apart from boost and engine oil temperature gauges not working?
Bid in the amount of $7,000
@JRBuzzetta Thank you! I do not have the OEM catback, but I do have the OEM suspension. I don’t believe the car has been tuned, as the previous owner told me it wasn’t tuned.
Beautiful car. Do you still have the OEM catback and suspension? Has it ever been tuned?
Bid in the amount of $6,500
I have seen this car in person, if you are in the market for a clean EVO IX MR, this is for you. These will only get more desirable as they age!
