The fourth-generation S-Class (W220) was offered as Mercedes’ flagship full-size luxury car from 1999 until 2006 and featured innovative new technology including Airmatic air suspension, keyless entry, and soft-close doors. This final-year example is a 4.3-liter V8-powered S430 finished in Cubanite Silver Metallic over an Alpaca Gray leather interior. It came factory-equipped with an optional power-operated rear sunshade as well as the AMG Styling Package which adds an exterior aero kit and 18” AMG double-spoke wheels. A lifelong California car that has been cared for by a single owner, this S430 was previously listed on PCARMARKET and is now being offered for auction once again out of New York with just over 18k miles showing on the odometer.
This S430 is finished in Cubanite Silver Metallic and features the optional AMG Styling Package which adds a front spoiler, side skirts, and 18” AMG double-spoke wheels. It rides on new Hankook tires. Other equipment includes chrome body moldings and trim, heat-insulating glass, an electric slide/tilt sunroof in glass, a power-closing trunk lid, and bi-xenon headlights. The seller notes the original wheels have been finished in chrome and the rear bumper was professionally repainted once before. The exterior is described to be in excellent overall condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Alpaca Gray leather accented by polished burl wood veneers. Amenities include power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, soft-close doors, keyless entry, an optional rear window sunshade, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, and COMAND APS with Navigation. The seller describes the interior to be in outstanding condition and confirms all accessories and electronics are fully functional.
This S430 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.3-liter M113 V8 engine rated at 275 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 7-speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmission and the chassis includes an active Airmatic air suspension system.
Within the last year, service was completed along with preventative maintenance including replacement of the valve cover gaskets, resealing of the breathers, and a Liqui Moly oil change.
This sale will include two keys, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

@AK9eleven this actually has become extremely cost effective as these cars aged. Arnott which makes upgraded replacement struts sells each one with a lifetime warranty and they are approximately $300 each last time I checked. At this time the suspension has no leaks and operates flawlessly so bid with confidence as you can jump in and drive it with zero immediate needs.
the air suspension operates flawlessly and doesn’t even sag when sitting for over a week like some other ones that I have owned.

Can you comment on the airmatic air suspension. I know it’s an area of concern for most prospective buyers since it can be an expensive repair. Service done recently ?

@AK9eleven Hello and thank you for the bid and interest. The photos show the car with its original tires to prove the mileage, however, a brand new set of Hankook Ventus tires were just installed for safety reasons. Everything works, this is as close to new as possible. Good luck!
