Now available for auction is this 2006 BMW E46 M3 finished in Imola Red over a black Nappa leather interior. Acquired from a prominent E46 M3 collection out of Scottsdale, this final-year Competition Package (ZCP) model showcases a new KW V2 coilover suspension, a CSL-style Karbonius carbon-fiber intake plenum, and a Status Gruppe cat-back exhaust system.  Reported to have been diligently maintained by reputable BMW specialists, this nicely presented 6-speed E46 M3 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania with just over 101k miles on the odometer.

This M3 is finished in Imola Red (405) and sports distinctive M3-specific features include wider fender flares, side air vents, aerodynamic wing mirrors, quad exhaust tips, and revised front and rear fascias.  Minimal signs of road-going wear are reported including some imperfections on the front bumper, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  This E46 M3 rides on factory 19” Competition Package Style 127 forged wheels that are currently mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires showing dates codes from 2017-2018.

Inside, this M3 features a black Nappa leather interior with special Competition Package details including Milled-Effect Aluminum trim as well as an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and handbrake lever, both of which have been recently reupholstered. The M3 comes standard with 14-way power-adjustable sport seats and a black Alcantara headliner.  Other options include a glass sunroof, a Harmon Kardon hi-fi audio system, Parking Distance Control, and a BMW MK4 navigation system. Some typical signs of wear are reported throughout the cabin and the seller confirms all instrumentation and accessories to be fully functional.

The E46 M3 is powered by an S54 3.2L naturally aspirated inline-six engine, which was factory rated at 333 HP and 269 lb.-ft of torque. The S54 engine features motorsport-derived technology including individual throttle bodies, quasi-dry sump lubrication, and double VANOS variable valve timing. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The Competition Package equips larger two-piece cross-drilled rotors, a reduced steering ratio, and an M Track Mode that modifies the Dynamic Stability Control characteristics. This M3 has recently been equipped with an adjustable KW V2 coilover suspension.  The original plastic air intake has been replaced in favor of an upgraded M3 CSL-style carbon-fiber Karbonious intake plenum for improved airflow and induction sound. A Status Gruppe cat-back exhaust has also been installed along with M3 CSL engine software. All modifications and maintenance are said to have been carried out by reputable BMW specialists in the Scottsdale area, including a VANOS service and regular oil changes.  Some invoices are provided for reference in the photo gallery.

This sale will include a collection of maintenance records and a clean California title.  One of the most desirable and highly regarded M-cars of all time, this final year E46 M3 Competition Package presents an opportunity that is not to be missed.

@zigman I’m sorry the stock intake is not a available. The DME is the original DME just with a port flash

  • AzEuros (seller) 3 yearsago

@Hotjalepeno yes you close by ? The auction ends in 49 minutes

  • Hotjalepeno (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Seller, would I be able to come see the car in person?

  • zigman (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@AzEuros - Does the original intake, DME and other associated parts come with the car. May need to revert to stock to pass CA emissions.

  • AzEuros (seller) 3 yearsago

I was asked by a user that was interested "Why the transmission was swapped?". The main and only reason it was swapped was to add value to such an iconic car by giving it three pedals. The car was not in any way needed the swap performed. It was more of a want vs. need. The S54 paired with 6 speed manual trans is sure to achieve more smiles per mile vs. the problematic SMG.

I have the documentation from ALEKSHOP who did the swap. I need to attach it.

@PorscheAddict I knew someone was going to mention that but I didn't want to edit anything out. That cold start the car had been sitting for about 7-10 days. I never experience a hard start condition with the car. The car has been driven since that cold start video. I will post another cold start video. HERE: https://youtu.be/Qj0rTkESnXE

  • AzEuros (seller) 3 yearsago

@Guchon Yes this car was 6MT swapped by ALEKSHOP http://alekshop.com/ in the Bay area. They are very well know. The car acts and performs exactly how it should. One would never know if it wasn't for the cluster or steering wheel. I am trying to get the documentation from ALEKSHOP. They took my call the other and are to be sending the but nothing yet. Thank you.

  • AzEuros (seller) 3 yearsago

@discoelk I will try to get pics of subframe today and get them posted. Are you wanting photos of underneath ?

  • AzEuros (seller) 3 yearsago

@discoelk No the rod bearings have not been addressed. I am a strong believer of properly warming cars up before driving. Also the car does not see more than 50% prior to oil temp in the operating range. The car has no knocking and performs flawlessly. I do not track the car nor beat on it. The car gets some spirited driving on back roads of SE PA and I allow proper cool down prior to parking.

Picture #62 you can see the paddle shifters were removed. This is an SMG swapped car

  • garagemahal (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Why is there a little screen on guage cluster next to mileage and trip screen? Is this not an original 6 speed car? And was it converted?

Hello, great color combo on this car.

    A few questions for you.

It looks as though the rear side window gaskets have dry rot. Has there been any leaking or are they still weather tight? With the window gaskets showing that much rot, are all the other gaskets still weather tight and in good condition?
Has there been any "suspicious"water inside the car that you couldn't explain how it got there? I am specifically wondering about the battery compartment or runflat well in the trunk? Or under the rear seat cushions/rear floor board carpet?

    Thanks for your time.

  • PorscheAddict 3 yearsago

Hello @AzEuros, beautiful spec on this m3.

I noticed on the cold start that there was a bit of a hesitation on startup any ideas what this is? Does it also do it on warm starts? Thanks

  • discoelk (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Also looks like an SMG gauge cluster, can you provide details on if the car was manual swapped?

  • discoelk (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Any pictures of the subframe? Have the rod bearings been addressed?
