Representing the third generation of BMW’s high-performance 3-Series variant, the E46 M3 is revered for its well-balanced chassis and high-revving S54 inline 6-cylinder engine. Finished in Jet Black over Black Nappa leather upholstery, this 2006 example features a second-generation SMG automated manual gearbox. Acquired by the seller in 2008, this E46 has been stored inside a climate-controlled garage and is now being offered for auction out of Alabama with under 24k miles showing on the odometer.
This E46 M3 is finished in Jet Black (668) with a power-operated black soft top, xenon headlights, integrated fog lights, and LED taillights. The M3 is distinguished from the standard 3-series by model-specific bumpers, side skirts, front fender vents, an aluminum “power dome” hood, M-design mirrors, and a rear valence with four stainless-steel exhaust tips. The distinctive 19” Style 67 forged wheels are manufactured by Fuchs and dressed in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires from 2016. Minor signs of road wear are noted on the front bumper, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is upholstered in Black Nappa leather and features deeply bolstered 14-way powered M-Sport seats with matching door panels and carpeting. Shadow Brushed Aluminum trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels. M3-specific details include a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with M stitching, specialized M instrumentation with warm-up lights, M3 door sill guards, and M3-branded floor mats. Other amenities include a Harman Kardon Hi-Fi audio system and Parking Distance Control.
Power is derived from a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six, generating up to 333 HP and 269 lb.-ft of torque. Widely regarded as one of BMW’s greatest engine designs, the S54 utilizes individual throttle bodies, quasi-dry sump lubrication, and upgraded Mahle pistons. This M3 can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds to an electronically governed top speed of 155 MPH. The automated Sequential Manual Gearbox II, or SMG II, routes power to the rear wheels and allows for both automatic and manual gear changes. The seller adds that a factory-recommended oil service was performed on 4/24/24. Additionally, the CARFAX report indicates 23 service records, including a recent maintenance inspection on 6/3/24. The SMG pump was replaced on 6/20/24, and the warranty is said to remain in effect until 6/20/26.
This sale will include two keys, owner's manuals, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Purchased my first E36 M in 1995. Along the way, I have owned 13 Porsches dating to a 1960 356 B Roadster. to a recently sold 997 2 Carrera S.”
