As the convertible counterpart to the DB9 coupe, the DB9 Volante combines elegance, impressive engineering, and timeless design. Powered by a 5.9-liter V12 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, this 2006 example is finished in Almond Green over a Sandstorm leather upholstery. It features a fully automatic Sandstorm soft top, 19” seven-spoke wheels, parking sensors, heated power seats, a premium Linn sound system, and more. Showing approximately 16k miles on the odometer, this DB9 Volente is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina.
Crafted by designers Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker, the DB9’s aluminum and composite body features Aston Martin’s signature front grille, straked fender vents, and unique swan-wing doors. This example is finished in Almond Green with a power-retractable Sandstorm fabric soft top. It has power-folding mirrors, LED taillights, polished dual exhaust tips, and black Aston Martin logo brake calipers. It rides on 19” seven-spoke wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires from 2016 with 9/32" tread remaining. The soft top fabric above the rear window was reportedly repaired in preparation for the sale. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Sandstorm leather upholstery paired with Parliament Green carpets and a two-tone dashboard in Absinthe Green and Sandstorm. Amenities include heated, power-adjustable sport seats, a leather-wrapped three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, an engine start button, an analog clock, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, a foldaway navigation screen, and a CD stereo integrated with a premium Linn sound system. Under the current ownership, the wood trim on the center stack and door panels was replaced, and the central digital display was repaired in preparation for the sale. All gauges and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.
Power comes from a 5.9-liter DOHC V12, which delivers a factory-rated 450 HP and 420 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Its independent double-wishbone suspension is equipped with coil springs, gas-filled shock absorbers, and anti-roll bars on both front and rear axles. Slotted and ventilated disc brakes paired with an advanced ABS facilitate stopping power, while Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) enhances traction and safety in varied driving conditions. In 2019, the flywheel was reportedly replaced, and recent maintenance included replacing the intake manifold gaskets, fuel injector seals, ignition coils, and spark plugs in preparation for the sale.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, an umbrella, a tire inflator, and a clean title.

@RetroOrville Sorry I forgot to reference your user name. I answered your question this morning. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@TheVintageCarGuy We have had this particular DB9 only for a short period of time. You are correct about the 60k. I don't know anything about the rest as it may have happened before we purchased it. As to the opening bid, we have to start somewhere... Hopefully we will get past the finish line and have a win-win scenario.
Good luck to everyone!
This is at least the 3rd attempt by seller to unload this vehicle this year. Twice listed on another more active auction site and he walked away from 50k and then 60k. 17.5k isn't a serious bid. Anyone seriously looking to become the next owner needs to pony up at least 61k or you are likely wasting everyones time.
I just updated a few snapshots of the receipts I promised, work being performed, as well as the door caps and the ski slope that were replaced.
I have also added snapshots of the features of this DB9 from the Aston Martin database. Notice there are no recalls on this Aston Martin so it is ready for export for those of you overseas.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Yes, I just had the coils and spark plugs service done. The following was replaced as part of this maintenance:
- spark plugs
- 3 pin ignition coils (some earlier models DB9 came with 2 pin coils, others came with 3 pin coils)
- intake manifold gaskets
- fuel injector seals
Also replaced the door caps and the center console (ski slope) with new parts. The driver side door cap had 2 fine cracks in the varnish, while the center console and navigation cover had some very slight discoloration along the edges.
I will add a few pictures shortly.
@valeurosport: Any service since the 2019 work on the Carfax? Thanks/
Thank you for the kind words @palmerd27. I think the Almond Green is a really special color. At the risk of sounding creepy, I experienced getting goose bumps while looking at the car and admiring it, LOL.
Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime and good luck to you!
Nice colors, green cars are rarely seen anymore. Wish it was "British Racing Green" but this is close enough for me.
Been looking a long time for a green DB9 Volante. I'm in on this car, up to price point where I cannot afford it.
Bid in the amount of $17,527
