Up for auction is this tastefully modified 2006 Cayman S 6-Speed.  With its ideal mid-mounted engine position and rigid lightweight chassis, the Cayman is arguably one of the best handling vehicle's produced by Porsche.  This example comes loaded with performance enhancements including a $30k engine upgrade performed by Pat Williams Racing, making it a perfect car for demanding track days or spirited weekend driving.  With only 4k miles driven on the new engine, this Cayman S is being offered for auction in turn-key condition by its 3rd-owner out of Atlanta, GA.

Pulling off a classic look, this Cayman S is finished in Seal Gray Metallic.  The owner confirms that all paint on this vehicle remains in excellent condition, free of any excessive road wear.  Rest assured knowing that the front-end of this Cayman has been professionally wrapped in Xpel paint protection film since 2015.  The upgraded GT spoiler and wing provide an aggressive look while providing extra downforce at high speeds.  This Cayman is fitted with high-performance 19" OZ Formula HLT wheels which are accentuated by the vehicle's low stance.  Topping off this race-inspired build are custom “987 S” vinyl graphics, adding a unique personal touch as well as a tribute to Porsche’s racing heritage.

This Cayman S has been tastefully configured with an Anthracite leather/Alcantara interior.  Upgraded track-spec equipment including a half-cage, Alcantara race steering wheel and Schroth 6-point harness have been installed and the stock seats have been replaced with Recaro leather Pole Position race seats.  An X-brace and rear strut tower brace have also been equipped, helping to further stiffen the chassis and improve handling.  All surfaces throughout the interior remain in good condition with all electrical systems and accessories functioning properly.  Factory options equipped for this Cayman S include:

  • Rain Sensing Wipers
  • Porsche Stability Management (PSM)
  • Xenon Headlights
  • Home Link
  • On board computer

Power comes from an upgraded Cayman 3.8L engine that was freshly built by Pat Williams Racing ($30k).  This Cayman was never raced but was used as a DE vehicle on the track, receiving oil changes with Motul 5W40 8100 and Mahle filters every other DE event.  The seller states that the brake fluid was flushed with Motul 660 annually or after each track day.  A true race car for the street, this Cayman boasts a long list of performance upgrades consisting of:

  • Pagid Brake Pads (Yellow RS-29)
  • Two-Piece WR Brembo Rotors
  • Bilstein PSS9 Coil-Overs
  • H&R 24mm Solid Front Sway Bar
  • H&R 22mm Adjustable Rear Sway Bar
  • Rennline Camber Plates
  • Hub Centering RS Tech Spacers
  • Burns Lightweight Custom 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust (27lbs and 98db)
  • SST Brake Lines
  • Carrera S Clutch Kit
  • Solid Mid-Weight Flywheel
  • ERP Arms

The seller mentions that no expenses were spared in the maintaining of this vehicle and confirms that the airbags and seat belts have been properly programmed for harnesses (no lights).

The sale of this stunning 2006 Cayman S will include two sets of keys as well as complete service records and comprehensive performance documentation.  Also included is a clean Carfax report detailing a well-maintained and accident-free lifetime on the road.  Heavily upgraded, tastefully equipped, and diligently maintained, this car is the result of an intensive pursuit of speed.  Do not miss out on this truly unique, ultra-high-performance Cayman S.

@niftyX50 There are no dyno sheets for the build. The engine is documented and pdf has been sent to PCARMARKET.

@2mAn There are no additional spare parts with the car. There is plenty of car here and it needs nothing. No OE wheels or seats.

  • MattShaw (seller) 5 years, 2 monthsago

@2mAn I run 93 octane however the engine is not limited to high octane fuels.

  • MattShaw (seller) 5 years, 2 monthsago

@Nismou20 I cannot speak to other States but Nashville, TN and surrounding counties maintain rigorous emissions standards. This 3.8L 987S meets those standards via OBD2 without computer or fuel manipulation.

@Nismou20 This 3.8L 987S passes rigorous emissions here in Nashville. Our county requires annual emissions testing for tag renewal. it has performance cats and runs 91-93 octane. There are zero dash lights or alarms.

To seller, Will this car meet all OBD2 compliance in 50 states? Thanks

  • MattShaw (seller) 5 years, 2 monthsago

@digi805 The engine was replaced and rebuilt due to original motor cylinder failure. A Cayman 3.4L core was obtained and completely rebuilt to 3.8L spec including all bearings pistons and associates components. This build was intended for performance and long-term durability. Please see earlier comments for specifics on the build. It is a well documented Pat Williams Racing build. Pat has built multiple race motors for me, all with spectacular results!

  • digi805 5 years, 2 monthsago

@MattShaw was this rebuilt be had failure/IMA/RMS issues or “just because”? Are there IMS/RMS risks after this build? Any dyno info on power/delivery?

The lower front spoiler has been resprayed flat black due to pits noted in earlier pictures. Rear lower spoiler was also resprayed flat black due to scuffs noted in earlier pictures. Please leave your comments for me. Thank you.
