Among the most iconic and celebrated Porsche models of all time, the Carrera GT (Type 980) first debuted as a concept car at the 2000 Paris Motor Show featuring a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) monocoque chassis built around a V10 engine borrowed from a Le Mans LMP2000 race car prototype. With its naturally aspirated engine, race-derived technology, and 6-speed manual transmission, the Carrera GT is regarded among the last true analog supercars. It went into production at Porsche’s Leipzig facility in 2003 and concluded in 2006 after 1,270 examples had been produced in total. This U.S.-market 2005 Porsche Carrera GT is finished in GT Silver Metallic over Dark Gray leather upholstery and was purchased new by its first owner in Montreal after being officially imported to Canada by the manufacturer in March 2006. It was acquired by the current owner in 2017 and was the subject of a major service in December 2023 including new spark plugs, drive belts, a thermostat, air filters, recall work, and an oil change. Following Porsche’s stop-drive issuance in April 2023, this Carrera GT has been scheduled for a safety recall repair on December 5, 2024. Accompanied by a matching luggage set and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this Carrera GT is now being offered at no reserve out of Canada with 2,191 miles on the odometer.
The Carrera GT features lightweight full carbon fiber bodywork laid over an advanced carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) monocoque chassis constructed by ATR Group of Italy. It incorporates a two-piece removable roof panel, large side air intakes, recessed door handles, an electronically actuated rear spoiler, and a carbon-fiber engine cover with NACA air ducts and dual silver mesh grilles. Other features include an aerodynamic underbody paneling, dual exhaust pipes, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, xenon headlights, and yellow-painted aluminum monobloc brake calipers mounted behind 19”/20” forged magnesium center-lock wheels. This example is finished in the model’s signature color of GT Silver Metallic (M7Z) and wears a layer of clear paint protection film over the full exterior. The seller notes the Michelin Pilot Sport tires have been replaced, and a headlight recall was completed in December 2023. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cockpit presents Dark Grey leather upholstery complemented by carbon fiber, magnesium, and aluminum trim. Equipment includes racing-style XT Bucket Seats with carbon-Kevlar shells and Porsche-crested headrests, a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, a 917-style beechwood wood shift knob, power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, a Porsche Online Pro CD stereo, a 10,000-rpm tachometer, and a 235-mph speedometer. The car's serial number is also emblazoned ahead of the shifter. The seller indicates the tire pressuring monitoring system (TPMS) light is present on the dashboard due to new tires being installed and a road test not being possible at the time. Some scratches are visible on the paint protection film covering the lower passenger door carbon fiber trim. The seller adds that the car has a U.S. compliance label and an analog MPH speedometer. PDI service record shows daylight reprogramming to meet Canadian Transport Agency requirements.
Adapted from a secret project commissioned by the Footwork Formula One racing team in 1992, the Carrera GT features a high-revving 5.7-liter M80/01 V10 engine with Nikasil-coated cylinders, forged titanium connecting rods, forged pistons, dry-sump lubrication, and dual overhead camshafts with variable intake timing. Up to 605 HP and 435 lb.-ft of torque is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with a special twin-plate Porsche Ceramic Composite Clutch (PCCC). The suspension includes unequal-length control arms with horizontally mounted pushrod-actuated shock absorbers and anti-roll bars. Stopping power is derived from Porsche’s Carbon fiber-reinforced Silicon Carbide (C/SiC) ceramic composite braking system with 15” SGL Carbon discs. Porsche claims an official 0-62 MPH acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 205 MPH. A service completed by Porsche Lauzon in December 2023 included the replacement of a thermostat, spark plugs, drive belts, air filters, and an oil change. The seller adds that, following Porsche’s stop-drive order issuance in April 2023, the safety recall repair has been scheduled for December 5, 2024.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a luggage set, bucket seat extensions, a toolkit, a car cover, service records, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean and clear Canadian title. In addition to traditional bank wire, the seller is willing to accept payment in cryptocurrency, please message for details before bidding. Fees may apply.
The seller would like you to know: "With the recall repair scheduled for December 5, 2024, this is a great opportunity to acquire a flawless and extremely low-mile Carrera GT. This particular Porsche was originally manufactured for the US market. It was moved by Porsche Cars North America to accommodate a Canadian buyer in 2006 at the end of the model's selling period. Being an American-market example, it will not require any modifications to bring back into the US. All required servicing will be performed in preparation for the sale."

@TheVintageCarGuy I asked if it changed hands, as the listing account was different, and the car has been listed for auction several times now. But, thanks for the just as unnecessary criticism of my question. You must be fun at parties.
@Superchargedman There may be no stupid questions, but there are unnecessary ones. Your question "..... is this the same car that was listed at the previous below auctions..." was one of those unnecessary ones. Simply checking the VIN, which is listed in all auctions, would have given you the answer you sought.
@prince_22771 the DME on the CGT doesn't log the same ranges as the rest of the Porsche lineup. It would be better if you just post a photo of the DME readout.

Hi everyone
@superchargedman - the car has not been sold, it has not traded hands. I am now responsible to sell the CGT. no additional miles have been put on the car since.
@jbwz65 - the car is in absolute great condition.
the car has PPF everywhere except the quarter panels due to the high-heat.
You mentioned PPF on the door sill. How much of the car has PPF and are there any other imperfections not visible in the photos?
I see you may be a different seller, but is this the same car that was listed at the previous below auctions with reserve unmet? Has it changed hands since the two January auctions? Thank you.
