Carrying a mid-mounted 3.2-liter flat-six engine paired with a desirable 6-speed manual transmission, this 2005 Porsche 987 Boxster S is finished in Black with a matching soft top over Sand Beige interior upholstery. It was further optioned with bi-xenon headlamps, a Sport steering wheel, heated seats, automatic climate control, and the BOSE Surround Sound System. Showing approximately 54k miles on the odometer, this example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Missouri.
This 987 is finished in Black and can be distinguished as a Boxster S from the contemporary model by its red-painted brake calipers, silver side air intakes, and dual centrally mounted exhaust tips. Other equipment includes a retractable convertible soft top, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and optional bi-xenon headlights. It rides on 18” Boxster S wheels with optional colored Porsche crests and Continental tires from 2020. The top has been converted for manual operation, the suspension has been lowered by 20mm, LED taillights have been fitted, and the front end is protected by paint protection film. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Sand Beige standard leather and features optional heated seats, a Sport steering wheel, automatic climate control, a wind deflector, and the BOSE Surround Sound System. A Pioneer head unit with Bluetooth connectivity has also been installed. The seller reports that all gauges, electronics, and accessories are functioning properly; however, the airbag light is currently illuminated due to the seat connector being unplugged during a previous service without disconnecting the battery. The seller notes that no airbags have deployed.
Rated at 280 HP, the naturally aspirated 3.2-liter flat-six engine delivers power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, enabling 0-60 MPH acceleration in approximately 5 seconds. Braking is handled by fixed 4-piston calipers with ventilated and cross-drilled rotors at each corner. Modifications include Bilstein PSS9 fully adjustable coilovers and a Fabspeed Tracktek valved exhaust system that retains catalytic converters while enhancing sound. The original factory exhaust will accompany the sale. Service under the current ownership reportedly includes oil changes every 2,500 miles, a cooling system refresh with a new water pump and serpentine belts, and a transmission fluid replacement using Red Line products.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, an air pump, a battery charger, sales literature, and the factory exhaust system.
The seller would like you to know: “This Boxster S has been a truly special car in my life—I even got married in this car, so it holds a lot of great memories. It’s not just sentimental, though—it’s also a standout car that could easily win local shows thanks to its condition, tasteful upgrades, and overall presentation. The car has very low miles and is mechanically perfect—no issues whatsoever. The clutch feels strong, and it shifts into every gear smoothly with no hesitation. I’ve personally driven it over 10,000 miles this past year without a single hiccup. I bought the car at 43,000 miles and have taken care of it obsessively—this isn’t my first Porsche either. I’ve owned a 911, and honestly, this Boxster S has been more fun and more reliable than that car. It checked every box I was looking for when I bought it. Modifications include Bilstein PSS9 fully adjustable coilovers (lowered ~20mm, $3,000+) and a Fabspeed Tracktek valved exhaust system ($3,000) that retains catalytic converters while enhancing sound. It's everything you could want in a roadster. It’s also worth noting that this is essentially the 987.1 Spyder Porsche never built. Mechanically, it’s rock-solid. The 3.2L flat-six engine is known for its durability and performance, and it's much quicker and more responsive than a base Boxster or Cayman. It also does not burn any oil or coolant, and there are no leaks or rust anywhere. This car has never been left outside—not under my ownership or the previous owner's. It’s been garage-kept, ceramic-coated, and driven with care. I love this car, and the only reason I’m letting it go is because I’m upgrading to another Porsche, and unfortunately, I can’t keep both. If you’re looking for a clean, well-sorted, and tastefully upgraded Boxster S that’s been truly loved, this is it.”

@gerhard997 It certainly is! They are amazing cars. This car can certainly keep up with my 996, except this one has much better reliability.
Owned a base 08 from new for a couple years and was pleasantly surprised at the stock handling! S must really be sweet with the 3.2 behind you!
@gerhard997 Thank you, it is a special car for sure. I hope it can go to a good home.

@aidan786 Hello and no problem! So these engines (3.2l) do not get bore scoring because they were equipped with cast pistons instead of forged pistons from the factory. (Only 987 Boxster S from 2005-2006 have the 3.2) This is one of the reasons why I bought it. More power and more reliability. There are lots of articles online about this. The car also burns zero oil, and doesn't smoke at all, not any at startup ever. Also, I believe the IMS bearing is the larger/ stronger bearing due to the build date surpassing March 2005. I also have a magnetic drain plug equipped, and it has always been perfectly clean. The car also gets oil changes with "Driven DT40" every 2500 miles. The best of the best. Again, I have drove the car 10k miles this past year. This car does not sit, it is used and works amazing! Thank you for taking interest in the car!
Love the car! Sorry... Have to ask- sorry! Pain-points... Compression test? Bore-scope? IMS? Thanks!
