Now up for auction is this 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera S Coupe finished in Black over a black interior. In addition to its 6-speed manual gearbox, this first-generation 997 showcases the factory optioned Bose High-End Sound Package, Porsche crested headrests, and Sport Chrono Package Plus. Purchased by its 3rd and current owner in 2009, this lifelong California car has been kept in excellent condition with a complete history of service dating back to new. It is now being offered out of Lake Forest, CA with approximately 42k miles showing on the odometer.
The Black finish on this 997 is said to be in fantastic overall condition except for some slight road-going wear on the front fascia (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Factory 19” Carrera S “Lobster Fork” wheels are retained and dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires. The seller reports the rear tires to have been recently replaced within the last 100 miles and the front tires are said to have approximately 70% tread remaining.
Inside, this Carrera S features a black standard leather interior with the Power Seat Package, Porsche crested headrests, and the Bose High-End Sound Package. Other options listed on the $86,810 factory specification sheet include PCM with navigation, a remote 6-disc CD changer, and the Sport Chrono Package Plus which adds a lap timer to the center of the dashboard. The cover for the driver’s side vanity mirror has fallen off, and the interior is said to be in otherwise excellent condition with all gauges and accessories working properly. A computer scan revealed an error code for a headlight module, however, this is reported to have no effect on the operation of the vehicle.
This first-generation 997 Carrera S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8 L flat-six engine that sends 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. With the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus adding variable performance settings, this Coupe is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.5 seconds while reaching a top speed of over 185 MPH. All service records are included dating back to the original purchase showing proper routine maintenance. The IMS bearing has not been addressed and the seller confirms this 997 to be in excellent running order while meeting California emissions standards.
This sale will be accompanied by a set of 2 keys, owner’s manuals, tools, service records, and a clean California title. With only 42k miles shown on the odometer, this beautifully presented 6-speed Carrera S makes the perfect choice for any enthusiast in search of a Porsche 997.

When did you exact date acquire the car?
Autocheck states that a CA State agency reported it on 9/02/09. Not all Carfax are correct. Autocheck is a reputable platform so I am concerned about transparency.
Bid in the amount of $24,997
@JasonMoore Hi Jason, the original seller reported to me that there had not been any accidents, and I have not had any accidents. The CARFAX is clean.

@tstamm Additional photos have been added into the photo gallery.
@tstamm Yes, I will post a few more shots of the slight road-going wear on the front fascia. (You will have to look close in some if the shots, they can be difficult to capture in photos)
@Rcypers yes , it has PCM with Navigation
Additional photos have been added to the listing gallery.
Can you post detailed images of the slight road-going wear on the front fascia, I cannot see any rock chips on the posted images
Does this car have a navigation system? If so, Is there a spec for the type of system?
@tstamm Hi, I've changed the last 2 video links. I think they should work now, let me know if they still don't open for you.
The last two video links came up private and cannot be viewed
Im posting some current driving and walk around video links for those interested.
I'm still hoping to get the DME report posted in the gallery by the staff soon.

Do you have paint meter readings available?
@DSheir I talked with one of the staff members tonight about that. They are working on posting the DME report soon.
I didn’t see the DME report. Did you post it?
Beautiful car. Wish I had more confidence in buying over the internet and with auctions. Can’t wait to see if this sells and for what price.
@LVCMLC-Rx No, the cylinders have not been scoped for bore scoring.

@BW911 can you post a photo of the DMe report?
@tstamm I'm going to say the paint is all original to the best of my knowledge. Certainly there has not been any paintwork or accidents during my ownership in the last 11 years. The CAR FAX is also clean without any accidents reported.
all original paint?
@twickes40 Yes, there was a DME scan recently with no report of any Over-Rev occurrence's.
Beautiful car. The paint looks incredible. Do you have an over rev report?
@dennisconnie2 Thanks for your question.
Regarding the IMS bearing, the 2005 was a redesign year and the failure rate has been recorded as minimal for that year. Failure rates were often reported on vehicles with extremely low mileage as the bearings received insufficient lubrication. Throughout the vehicle’s life, no metal shavings or contaminants were found during its oil changes. A direct oil feed kit can be installed to ease any concerns of the IMS.
Nice car
The 2005-2008 motors in the 997’s
had IMS issues. Please advise
Thanks
