Exclusively produced for the 2005 model year, the Turbo S features the X50 Turbo Powerkit and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). One of 963 Turbo S Cabriolets built, this rare example is further distinguished by a 6-speed manual transmission. With an original price of approximately $155k, it includes painted exterior accents, the Carbon Interior Package, a Sport Shifter, stainless steel exhaust pipes, Custom Tailoring, and more. Delivered new to Porsche North Scottsdale, it has since spent time in Oregon, Virginia, and British Columbia before arriving in Tennessee. Finished in Seal Grey Metallic over Graphite Grey full leather, this rare Turbo S Cabriolet is now being offered for auction with less than 51k miles showing on the odometer.
Sporting wide bodywork, the Turbo S is distinguished from the standard 996 Turbo by silver badging on the rear decklid and yellow-painted calipers as part of its ceramic brake system. This example comes finished in Seal Grey Metallic with a Metropol Blue convertible roof and features an exclusively optioned painted spoiler lip, painted side skirts, and stainless steel exhaust outlets. It rides on aftermarket 18” BBS RS wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport N3 tires from 2018-2019. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The paint meter readings have been reported by the seller as follows:
The cabin features full Graphite Grey leather upholstery with supple leather seats, enhanced by the Carbon Interior Package. Additional exclusive options include a carbon fiber/leather 3-spoke steering wheel, carbon fiber and aluminum brake and shifter accents, Porsche-crested headrests, deviated carpet color, and Custom Tailoring (special wishes that require further communication).
The Turbo S features the X50 Turbo Powerkit which equips its 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine with larger K24 turbochargers and intercoolers along with a revised ECU and exhaust system. Up to 450 HP is sent to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) come standard and include larger 6-piston monobloc front calipers and cross-drilled 350mm ceramic discs at the front and rear. The seller adds that the power steering fluid was changed in September 2022, followed by the replacement of the clutch hydraulic accumulator in May 2021. The oil pressure sender was replaced in September 2023, with routine maintenance performed in June 2024, including an oil change and air filter replacement. In July 2024, the brake fluid was refreshed.
This sale will include a clean title, a window sticker, and sales literature.
The seller would like you to know: “This car is extraordinary to gaze upon in condition and aesthetic beauty. The car runs and drives as a well-serviced Porsche should, fast, tight, exhilarating. The car shows as well kept, garaged protected car with conscientious ownership.”

When looking at a sales price reported to a state (and the related tax implications), consider the scenario. I've heard that some people don't actually report the full purchase price...

@Supakev Way more. Auction fees which had to be around 2500 plus all the import fees. Very weird someone sold quick and was willing to take such a big loss.
Bid in the amount of $40,000
@Jpfrazier4211 and it looks like they lost $10k over it. That stinks.
No extra wheels. You guys do understand this car was in Canada and someone had to spend a great deal of effort and time to get the car back into the states.
The hydraulic Spoiler has been serviced,no record of lines being serviced.date codes of tires has been listed 2018 and 2019.
@skywalker27612 Wow, great info!

Yep, same car - same ownership locations, same records, etc
Curious, classic shows a sale of this car in WA for $44,083 after the BAT sale of $55,000.
Of course it's the same car. Seller needs to look up the word transparent.
Bid in the amount of $36,500
On BAT this one sold including set of original wheels. Do you have the original wheels too?
Bid in the amount of $35,996
The handwriting on the paperwork is identical to the BAT photos, so this is absolutely the same car.
Bid in the amount of $35,250
Bid in the amount of $35,000
@Supakev Looks like double flip. Interesting why the BAT buyer sold it so quick.
Still the same car though, regardless who the buyer on BAT was. Crazy that this would be the third sale of this car in just a few months then.
Bid in the amount of $33,500
I'd like to bid, so would you please answer my questions about coolant lines, tires and hydraulic rear spoiler.
@Jpfrazier4211 no disrespect intended. It just is a fact that the VINs are the same. If it wasn't you then there was another change of hands from BaT to you.
With all do respect to all,do not be so presumptious. We did not buy off of BAT as previously stated.I have done this for 49 years, I have many sources for my inventory
@skywalker27612 The seller is a dealer - so that's the basic business model. Haha
Bid in the amount of $33,250
Why selling so quick? Quick flip?
Have the coolant lines been pinned? How old are the tires? Has the hydraulicly actuated rear spoiler been serviced, repaired or replaced?
@shamansky You are correct the VIN is the same between this car and the car auctioned on BaT in August.
manuals4ever-Turn signal is part of seal beam.Review picture #136 with car on rack. You will note amber at the lower part seal beam, that is turn signal
Bid in the amount of $33,000
Bid in the amount of $32,500
Bid in the amount of $31,996
How does this pass inspection with the front turn signals covered up? Do you have to remove the covers? How easy is it to remove?
Dotr-Google it
Evhint-we need to do a paradigm shift-this is not a car with needs-NONE!!!
Always serviced, never in an accident with all systems working as designed
If there is a “10” with any car, this would be one
The number of people that ask about IMS on 996 Turbo listings is worrying.
Good morning, is the PCCM functioning properly, I didnt notice it on in any photos.
Could you show the top opening and closing
Is the rear spoiler operating properly at speed and when slowing
Believe you mentioned non of the interior carbon is cracked, just confirming
is the A/C working properly and getting cold
thank you...

What a fantastic car. Just like the Ducati 999 from the same period, the Porsche 996 has come back around as being the beautiful that it is. The condition is fantastic.
2005 Turbo cars had Mezger engines that were not prone to having the IMS issue
Bid in the amount of $11,000
Has the possible IMS issue been resolved?
Surprisingly few entries on the Carfax report. Looks like a ton of service records in the binder. Does Carfax not report Canadian shops?
All viewings are welcome-I just typed out all info and red print posted stating sharing of info is strictly forbidden Please go to contact seller on the venue site.I understand one must be a registered bidder in order to get info.
We are located in the Nashville Tn metro area
@Jpfrazier4211 Hi we would like to see the car. We are local.
How do we contact the selling dealer to view the car
@Alraf Yes please tell us where we can view it. I did try to contact the seller and the function does not work
Bid in the amount of $10,213
No,this dealer did NOT buy from BAT in August of this year!
Beautiful turbo. Looks as though the dealer bought this for $55,500 on Bring a Trailer in August of this year.
Follow up-Anyone is welcome to come and review car.I actually encourage reviewing. The car is in such superior condition that I would like an independent review in order to substantiate my perspective.
Alraf,
We have the car in our showroom in the Nashville Tn metropolitan district
@SailorMike thank you
@Alraf -- the write-up says "Tennessee". Odd how this listing does not follow the standard format.
