A farewell to the 996 generation, the 2005 Porsche 911 Turbo S was offered during the final model year and came equipped as standard with ceramic brakes (PCCB) and the X50 Turbo Power Kit. It was specified in Arctic Silver Metallic over custom-tailored black full leather with deviating-color stitching, and it was optioned with the Turbo Aerokit as well as aluminum-look heated sport seats, Speed Yellow seatbelts, yellow instrument dials, a Carbon Interior Package, 18″ GT3 wheels, a stainless-steel exhaust system, painted grille slats, a sport shifter, and lighted footwells. Power is from a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six that features the Turbo Power Kit, and all four wheels are driven through a six-speed manual gearbox. Additional equipment includes a sunroof, bi-xenon headlights, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Porsche Communication Management screen linked with Bose speakers. One of 598 examples shipped to the U.S., this Turbo S is now being offered for auction out of New York while showing under 3k miles on the odometer.

This example comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic (L92U), and as a Turbo S, received silver badging on the rear decklid and yellow-painted calipers as part of its ceramic brake system. This Coupe features optional painted front air intakes, stainless-steel exhaust pipes, and the Aerokit package which includes revised front & rear spoilers. It rides on factory 18” GT3 wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport N3 tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, the driver is surrounded by Black full leather upholstery including power-adjustable Sport Seats with aluminum-look backrests. Additional options include yellow instrument dials, the Carbon Interior Package, carbon B-pillar clothes hooks & belt outlets, and a “Turbo” embroidered storage compartment lid. Other options include a rear center console in carbon fiber, a Sport Shifter, a 3-spoke carbon/leather-trimmed steering wheel, Porsche-crested headrests, Speed Yellow seatbelts, carbon/aluminum brake & shifter handles, footwell lighting, and deviated stitching for the seats, door panels, and dashboard. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

The Turbo S comes standard with the X50 Powerkit which equips its 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine with larger K24 turbochargers and intercoolers along with a revised ECU and exhaust system. Up to 450 HP is sent to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) come standard and include larger 6-piston monobloc front calipers and cross-drilled 350mm ceramic discs at the front and rear. The seller states repair orders are provided in the gallery and there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “The undercarriage was dry ice cleaned in preparation for the sale. The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists registration history in Minnesota and New York. Once in a lifetime opportunity to own this rare Porsche, it is the only one in the world equipped like it is with only 2800 miles.”

Hopefully it sells. I bought mine here last year in April and I’m happy to report that I have put more than 8,000 miles on it. I’m driving it again tomorrow to a special porsche club cars and coffee. I’m hopping this one lands in the hands of an enthusiast that’s going to drive it. If you ever see me don’t try to race me, I’m at 650 horsepower going for more. The goal is around 700. GLWTS.

In 2018, my wife and I visited the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart and there was a 2005 911 Turbo S coupe on display. I already had a 05 Turbo S Cab with a bolt on hard top. At that moment, I knew the Turbo S coupe would be an incredible future collector car. I would have been wise to buy one upon returning to the USA. This 2 owner car has all the right ingredients; low mileage, color, carbon fiber trim, etc. Good luck buyers and seller.

The vehicle description indicates this is one of 598 examples shipped to the US. This is incorrect so let me clarify. There were 598 Turbo S Coupe examples produced in 2005 for the entire world (600 total in 2004 and 2005). The number of examples shipped to the US is significantly lower. There were many more cabriolets built but I personally do not consider those in evaluating the rareness factor of the 996 Turbo S in collector terms. Great car and good luck to the seller.

  • mrexroat001 (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@SofiaLeo This is a Turbo S. The X50 package is standard equipment on a Turbo S (hence "S") and not an option. Therefore, it won't be listed as an option.

  • SofiaLeo (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@JoePro rare TURBO! Why isn't the X50 package listed on the option sheet? Thank you

  • maineman (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@6speedmanual - I too had an '05 Turbo S which had the Turbo S logo on the tach and the heated seat panel. My car had the standard aluminum look dials. I believe the reason this car doesn't have either is because it has the optional yellow dials and carbon package. My car also had the optional storage compartment with "Turbo" logo, not Turbo S, so think Porsche used what was in the "parts bin" as this was the end of the 996 Turbo run.

I’m a Porsche fanatic and currently own 1997 911 Turbo with 18,000 original miles plus a 2018 GT-3 with a manual. Porsche, there is no substitute. Great 996 Turbo S. Happy New Year.

  • JoePro (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@6speedmanual Thank you for the message.

  • 6speedmanual 11 months, 3 weeksago

I stand corrected. According to Rennlist VIN decoder, this car is definitely a Turbo S. Gorgeous and rare car with VERY low mileage. Good luck bidders.

@Mfeti You're welcome. Thank you for the interest in my car. You will not be disappointed.

    @mezger.turbos thanks for that info

  • mezger.turbos 11 months, 3 weeksago

Beautiful example, can’t imagine there are many 996 Turbo S’s with this mileage… Very nice

  • mezger.turbos 11 months, 3 weeksago

@Mfeti Porsche did not apply hood stickers to the 2005 996 Turbo S

  • JoePro (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@Mfeti The hood was never replaced. The car is all original like it came out of the factory. Thank you for your question.

  • JoePro (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@6speedmanual I don't know why your car had one and my car doesn't. I'm sorry. Thank you for your question.

  • Mfeti 11 months, 3 weeksago

Nice example of a turbo s. Why is it missing the build sticker under the hood? Makes me think the hood was replaced.

  • 6speedmanual 11 months, 3 weeksago

    Good morning. Question:
Years ago I had owned a 2005 996 Turbo S Cab. The tachometer on my Turbo S indicated “Turbo S” which was engraved and incorporated on the bottom of the dial where your car indicates “Turbo”. There was another “Turbo S” lettering on the center stack under the audio system. Is there a reason your car doesn’t include these exclusive Turbo S identifiers?
    Thank you!

  • zf (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

oh man wish i had space for this! 2005 911 GTs and Turbo's are really quite special, they share 997 parts - one obvious example of this are the PCCBs (gen 2)... and, they're incredibly rare. You would not believe how long it took me to find mine. Finding CLEAN 996's is a tall order, as most of these were driven to hell and back (ask me how many PPI's i went through before finding the perfect car). Congrats to the next owner, will be difficult to replace this car

  • TubeGuy (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

As a Porsche nut, I have to say this car is a standout in every way, shape and form. We talk often about cars that are "in the wrapper" but this stands above them all. Some dude is going to write the obvious "This car needs to be driven" but I don't agree.

It should be cherished. In 10 or 20 years someone might look at it and declare it's not possible that a car like this exists.

  • JoePro (seller) 11 months, 4 weeksago

@jab7106 You’re welcome. No problem. Thank you. The car is absolutely beautiful. Merry Christmas.

  • jab7106 (registered bidder) 11 months, 4 weeksago

Thanks very much for the response Joe. Just trying to get a sense of the history of the car. Its a very pristine example!!!

  • JoePro (seller) 11 months, 4 weeksago

@jab7106 I am a car collector. I didn't know the original owner however he did mention a few vehicles in his stable. The roads are very salted here where I live. I would never drive any of my cars until the late Spring. I can do a start up video for you.

Can the seller comment on why both he and the previous owner essentially stored this car for the last 20 years rather than drive it? Are both owners simply collectors and have "garage queened" this car?
    Any driving/start up videos?

  • JoePro (seller) 11 months, 4 weeksago

@MickeyK Thank you. I had the vehicle done in Oregon. These are incredible cars. You will really enjoy one. Have a Merry Christmas.

  • MickeyK (registered bidder) 11 months, 4 weeksago

Beautiful car. A big improvement over the 993, although the 993 gains all the attention as the last air cooled model. I am thinking of getting my 2003 996TT with X-50 and Turbo Aero packages dry ice cleaned. I am in Connecticut. May I ask where you had it done?
PS Your car should get to six figures!

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 11 months, 4 weeksago

The problem with this car is that you’ll be afraid of putting miles on it. I bought mine here last year. From June last year to today I have already put more than 9000 miles on it. My car has k24s/18 so it even has more power than this one at a fraction of the cost. As someone said here this car wasn’t sold twice on bat, maybe the seller made arrangements for this car to go to dealtank. GLWTS.

@Kingosoby Thank you, The car has been stored in my climate controlled building. I have commercial fans running 24/7 as well to keep the vehicle dry. Most of the maintenance was performed by myself and a Porsche Technician, I have changed the engine oil every year since I owned the car. The Michelin tires are original. The car is an absolute time capsule.

  • Nj993c2 (registered bidder) 12 monthsago

Are the rest of the paint meter readings available? Does the good reading over 6 indicate paint work?

  • Porsche914guy (registered bidder) 12 monthsago

A remarkable example, someone is going to get a fantastic car.

  • Kingosoby (registered bidder) 12 monthsago
