Produced for one year only, the 996 Turbo S was offered as the ultimate 911 Turbo featuring the exclusive X50 Powerkit and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) as standard equipment.  This Coupe is believed to be one of less than 200 examples delivered to the U.S. with a 6-speed manual transmission and was factory optioned with rare 18” GT3 wheels. It comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Graphite Grey full leather interior with optional carbon fiber inlays, a Sport Shifter, and heated seats with lumbar support.  Accompanied by invoices totaling over $36k in recent service, this highly collectible 996 Turbo S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing just over 48k miles on the odometer.

This Turbo S comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with factory exclusive stainless-steel exhaust pipes and 18” GT3 wheels dressed in a set of new Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The seller provides paint depth readings of 3-4 mils throughout the body and describes the finish to be in excellent condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, the cabin is appointed with Graphite Grey full leather upholstery accented by optional carbon fiber and aluminum inlays for the shifter and handbrake. The front seats offer optional heating and adjustable lumbar support while standard Turbo S amenities include automatic climate control, a Bose Sound System, a 6-disc CD changer, and aluminum-look instrument dials.  A few small imperfections are noted on the dashboard and the seller reports all accessories and electronics remain fully functional.

The twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six Mezger in the Turbo S came factory equipped with the X50 Powerkit providing an output of up to 444 HP, an increase of 25 HP over the standard 996 Turbo. The engine has also been upgraded with silicone intake pipes and a high-flow air filter. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual gearbox allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4 seconds. The seller reports over $36k worth of service has been completed over the past 6 months including replacement of the tires, brakes, clutch, engine mounts, water pump, radiator, coolant hoses, and more.

This sale will include a clean title, service records, and a Porsche Production Specifications Certificate.

    Can you post the dyno graphs from before and after the Cobb tune? I saw this referenced on one of the invoices.

    @Driveitnow01 - 143 equipped with XCZ

    @c041v Thanks for the explanation.

    Bringing it back to this amazingly rare car, the Turbo S script on the manual shifter only was available with the XCZ Sport Shifter option, so I wonder how few of those are out there.

    It is a bit of a complicated answer, I’m afraid. There’s a few sites that provide individual VIN data. The trick is figuring out how to find all the VIN’s.

    I have spent some considerable time doing just that, and checking various auction/sales to verify my data is correct by checking the colours and options. Note that I only have the data for NA cars, including all Turbo S’ and just about all “regular” Turbos.

    I’m fairly confident in my data, which sits on my desktop in a rather robust spreadsheet.

    Find me on Rennlist under c041v_ via PM if you have any specific questions, and I will do my best to answer them!

    @c041v I have a black on black Turbo S and am always curious where individuals gather their information from. Can you provide where I might go to see like information on the 996 Turbo S production statistics.

    There were 207 Manual transmission Turbo S' that made it to North America.

    196 For USA
    11 for Canada

    40 of those cars are Arctic Silver
    5 of those cars are Arctic Silver + Graphite Grey

    @AMGUSA I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what a rare car you have here. Only 600 made for the world market with less than 200 brought to the states. And even less were manuals. Unlike all the special editions Porsche makes now the 996 turbo S was truly a very low production model. And it’s value can be summed up with one word “Mezger”.

    Since I have mine I won’t be in it at the end. But I’ll be happy to start!

    @Tangerine997 I've sent those to Pcar and asked that they post them.

  • Tangerine997 (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

    @AMGUSA This is outstanding. Will you be posting the service records and a DME report.
    How about some pix of the full undercarriage and the paint readings?
    Window sticker or build sheet. Lots to see here.
    Thanks.
