Up for auction is this authentic 2005 996 GT3 factory Cup Car.  Having been originally used by the Brazil GT3 Cup Challenge division, this 996 was driven in a few races before being exported to Miami in 2012.  Purchased not too long after by the current owner, this GT3 has seen limited use at DE events while being carefully maintained using only genuine parts.  Showing approximately 16,000km (10k miles) on the odometer, this number’s matching GT3 Cup Car is now being offered for auction in ready-to-race condition by its seller in New York.

Showing to be in excellent shape for a veteran race car, this 996 is said to have undergone a respray some years back to correct typical track going wear.  The car is said to remain fully intact and structurally sound.  Exterior features include removable racing graphics as well as original BBS Cup wheels which have been rebuilt and come wrapped in Pirelli tires with five heat cycles.  The sale will also include two additional sets of Pirelli Tires (one set with 2 heat cycles and another set with three heat cycles).  A true piece of racing heritage, this GT3 looks the part.

This 996 GT3 is equipped with an all-business lightweight racing interior that has been outfitted with all necessary safety equipment.  Since acquiring the car, the owner has installed a new steering wheel and footrest plate as well as new OMP race seat with Schroth safety belts.  Providing the driver with only the most essential controls, this no-frills interior retains full functionality of all gauges, electrical components and accessories.

This GT3 is equipped with a numbers-matching 3.6 L flat-six engine that is rated at approximately 370 HP.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission which is mated to a brand-new GT Pro limited slip differential.  Showing 0 engine hours since its last complete service completed by Advanced Automotive, the seller has indicated that this GT3 runs beautifully at this time with no issues whatsoever.  The ECU values along with all replacement parts have been documented and outlined in the following lists.

    what's the current weight of the car? can it be registered and street driven?

  • TheBaron (registered bidder) 4 years, 11 monthsago

    Question to seller...... Are the doors the OE Porsche Cup doors where are they aftermarket replacement, ie; Getty Design, etc?

  • Kchally (seller) 4 years, 11 monthsago

    @JPD No pins.
    Coolant elbows on 996 are already metal not plastic.
    No log book.
    No data logger (only ECU data installed at factory)
    No service records: Before this batch of 996's were sent to Miami a disgruntled employee took all the records. However, if you look at the 997's that came over after the 996's from the same series the cars were maintained very well.
    Steel fenders.
    Right rear fender/quarter repaired.

  • Kchally (seller) 4 years, 11 monthsago

    @JPD No fuel cell
    2019 on Belts and Fire bottle. Fire bottle can be re-certified.
