Succeeding the 996 generation, the Porsche 997 Carrera debuted in 2005 with significant design changes including interior and exterior updates along with increased power output. This 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera S Cabriolet pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.8-liter flat-six. Finished in Seal Grey Metallic over Black upholstery, it was also selected with the Bose High-End Sound Package, Carrara White instrument dials, the Parking Assist System, Navigation for PCM, and more. This two-owner 997 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida with approximately 31k miles showing on the odometer.
Finished in Seal Grey Metallic with a black cabriolet roof, this example can be distinguished as an “S” model from the standard Carrera by its quad-tipped exhaust outlets and upgraded red-painted brake calipers. Other equipment includes front fog lights, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and 19” Carrera S wheels mounted with Yokohama Advan Apex tires from 2023. The seller notes that three of the rims exhibit curb rash from the previous owner. Additionally, a scratch on the right quarter panel has been professionally touched up using OEM paint from Porsche. Another minor scratch on the left quarter panel may potentially be buffed out, as it fades away when the car is waxed. The car is said to have undergone consistent hand washes as well as professional detailing within the last two months. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Black standard leather upholstery and optional Carrara White instrument dials. Other optional equipment includes the Bose High-End Sound Package, a remote 6-disc CD changer, navigation for PCM, self-dimming mirrors, and the Parking Assist System. The seller notes some stickiness on the radio knobs and temperature gauges. Additionally, the service light is said to be illuminated because the mechanic failed to reset it, though the car has been serviced.
A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH can be achieved in less than 5 seconds, continuing onto a top speed of nearly 180 MPH while stopping power is derived from fixed 4-piston brakes paired with 330mm cross-drilled discs at each corner. The seller notes basic maintenance has been performed by Drive Auto Works in Mountainside, New Jersey, and the comfort module was replaced as it was causing the battery to drain quickly.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: "Hi fellow Porsche enthusiasts! Thank you for taking a look at this 2005 Porsche 997.1 Carerra S Convertible! I've owned this car for 9 years and store it in my garage. Any overnight stays away from the house meant that I'd used my fitted car cover (my garage away from home). The car is completely stock with a brand-new set of tires installed last year. I've driven this 911 mostly on the local Interstate highway, along with some local twisty roads (gotta get that handling in as well)! While I love museum pieces, I also appreciate taking the car out, driving, and enjoying life as well. All I can say to the next owner is drive this Porsche, take it out, and enjoy life; just keep it clean as well! This is a wonderful ride and I'm hoping that someone can love this car as much as I have."

@wjcastiglione While dealerships communicate their work to CarFax, many independent automotive shops do not. That’s why keeping your own records and passing them along to the next owner is so important.

@Dbahnick The seats don't have lumber support.
Hi @wjcastiglione, the car was maintained at Drive Auto Works in Mountainside NJ. I keep the service records for the car. I'm not sure why they are not on CarFax.
Does it have lumbar support?
Just out of curiousity - how is it that this car has managed to go almost 20 years but has no services on its car fax? who has been servicing the car?

@shern I haven't worked on the IMS. I'm the second owner of the car and I've driven it less than 3,000 miles in the 9 years that I've had it.
IMS done?
