A 997 generation launch model, this 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe comes finished in Black and features a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its 3.8-liter flat-six engine. The car has been customized with a set of OZ wheels and KW coilover suspension and has been rigorously maintained by its owner including a previous clutch and IMS bearing replacement. It was sold new in Texas and has resided in California since 2005 where it is now being offered for auction at no reserve showing approximately 162k miles on the odometer.
This 997 is finished in Black with matching 19” OZ Superleggera wheels. The Carrera S can be distinguished from an entry-level model by its red-painted brake calipers and quad exhaust outlets. The seller describes the exterior to have been kept in good overall condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report showing moderate damage to the right side in December 2022.
The black leather interior includes optional heated and power-operated seats as well as the Bose High-End Sound Package. A door lock mechanism was replaced under the current ownership in addition to an A/C system recharge and repair to the glovebox strap. The seller notes that the sunroof is currently inoperable and there is a slight tear in the driver's seat.
A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The IMS bearing and clutch are said to have been replaced at 141,797 miles and an upgraded KW V3 coilover suspension was installed and aligned at 150,239 miles. Other maintenance items addressed within the last several thousand miles included the replacement of the crankshaft position sensor, oxygen sensors, transmission mounts, drive belt, tensioner rollers, front brake pads and rotors, a coolant hose, battery, and a full 10k-mile with new fluids and filters.
This sale will include maintenance records, the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, and a clean title.

@DTforPorsche Thank you
Someone’s getting a beautiful 911 for the price of a brand new + ADM Kia. If it was closer I’d be in the running.
@BoxsterBill Thank you sooo much Bill!!!!
I met OMGT3 and looked at this car last time it was up. I was amazed how well it drove- tight and like new. Someone is getting a great car!

@Havenhearth about 5k miles ago did a 10k mile service drained oil, oil filter, fluids in tranny, etc. also changed a water hose, coolant cap, drive belts, rollers, changed the brake pads and rotors as well too. I don't anticipate anything besides regular maintainance.
Hi OMGT3,
When was the last Major service performed?
What maintenance do you anticipate in the next two years?
Thanks in advance for your assistance and for this listing.
Cheers,
David
@moore_rb Hahahaha. A well maintained UFO :)
Coming across a 997 with 100k miles is rare. Coming across a 997 with 150K miles is like spotting Bigfoot in the forest.
Which makes this car the equivalent of seeing a UFO full of sunglass- wearing aliens, cruising down the PCH
Just got a DM from someone inquiring about the starter battery, a brand new AGM battery was placed on 12/2/22.
@Permalink-5G Anytime, here to help.
Very good.
Thanks.
@Permalink-5G correct clutch was replaced at 43,052 then replaced again on 141,797. The crank seal, clutch, flywheel, and IMS were done the same time at 141,797. I have copy of receipt available for you
@eurocol Thank you very much. Yes, these cars are a blast to drive!!!!! Thank you again
Bid in the amount of $26,000
I have a 2005 Carrera S manual and they are incredible cars,
the extra horsepower of the S can really be felt and enjoyed.
They represent the best value for money you can currently find on a used Porsche.
GLWTA
Just for clarification ;
In the written description it states that clutch & IMS bearing was done @ 141,797.
The Carfax report mentions rear crankshaft seal and clutch assembly replaced @ 43,052.
There is no mention of this 141,797 work in Carfax report. Was work in that area done once @ 43,052, or again @ 141,797 with just no record with Carfax ?
@idealtechies Please see video which was just posted per your request with the lid open
Any update on the new video?
Bid in the amount of $25,500
@Permalink-5G yes i have it. Ims, clutch and flywheel done at same time
Any paper work on the IMS or clutch updates/repairs ?
Just responded to all the DM messages. Thank you all for checking out the auction.
@idealtechies no damage under the vehicle.
@OMGT3 curious what kind of debris cause wheel damage. Any other damage under the car
Bid in the amount of $25,000
@Permalink-5G debris on the road
What did you hit ?
@idealtechies Work order in regards to checking on bore scoring. I would assume so if you ask for it to be checked
@OMGT3 thanks was this ever documented on a work order?

@OMGT3 can you explain that rattling sound on the startup video?
Bid in the amount of $18,000
Bid in the amount of $17,250
@idealtechies ive asked the porsche techs that worked on my car, theres no signs of bore scoring and if it did, it would have happened ages ago.
@idealtechies just shot the video and submitted it, it should be up in the morning
Have this car ever had a bore scoring inspection
@buzzkill yes two bent lobster wheels. Thats why i placed the OZ wheels on. The car drives great and is very enjoyable
@buzzkill edit: just noticed the question answered on the previous auction. does carfax really count a bent wheel as moderate damage to the side?
any more info regarding the moderate damage reported on the passenger side?
Could you also get a video of a few revs in neutral please
Is that there only 1 start up video. It definitely sounds like a rattle like the exhaust tips are loose or something with the muffler. Can you take a video with the engine lid open and start up please
@WH911 its not gundo’d or fistered it’s completely stock
@OMGT3 Does the exhaust have any modifications, gundo hack?
@thirdtuck that is not a rattle. I just uplaoded another startup video.
Thank you. Sounds like there is a rattle. Can you identify what is making that sound?
@thirdtuck Just uploaded the cold start vid for ya
Can you include a video of the exhaust with a cold start?
Bid in the amount of $17,000
@idealtechies theres about 90% tread in front and about 60% in rear
Thanks also are the tires matching ? Front and rears
@idealtechies Just added a DME report
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Also how much tread is on the tires?
any update on a DME report
@idealtechies there are no wet spots or leaks under the engine bay. Im currently traveling right now, i'll see what I can do about getting another pic. Im trying to answer all the questions asap also.
Thanks for the replies. yes that is the trim im referring to. are you able to get a better photo of that. Also is there any leaks or wet spots on or under the engine?
@idealtechies Thats not a windshield gasket. The windwheild rubber is perfectly fine. I believe what you're referring to is the cowl panel. Thats more decorative than a functional piece.
In photo 27 can you tell me what the condition of the rubber gasket seal under the windshield wiper? looks like its cracking?
@idealtechies when changing a bulb, the lens was placed on a table and one of the kids passed by that small piece chipped. Theres no leaks and works fine.
Also curious how did that happen to the light?
Thanks, Looks like a chip on the passenger tail light, are there any cracks or leaks in that light or any other light?
@idealtechies theres a little bit of smoke at startup but ive seen that on my last two 997s
Does it smoke during a cold start and can you take a video of a cold start of the car?
@WRENCH.56 Thank you sooo much! Gotta enjoy driving these cars. Truly appreciate the love
@Tedwardo sorry for the late reply, Im traveling for work and had bad reception. I can try to get that but will need some time. I do drive the car responsibly and don't really tend to shift at high RPMs if you're concerned about overrevs
I love to see Pcars driven lots of miles and be well cared for. I tend to trust those cars a lot more than underdriven garage queens.
I bought my 996 C4 with 121,000 miles on it. Gave it a full 60,000 mile service and tended to a few special Issues. I now drive it with absolute confidence and hope to live long enough to see 200,000 on it!
Kudos to the seller for using his car!
Can you provide a DME?
Bid in the amount of $10,997
@idealtechies yes the visor mirror cover popped off its pretty common. No large rock chips
Thanks for the replies. is the driver side visor cover missing? any large side rock chips looks like a lot of smaller white dots in photo 15.
@idealtechies the rubber is in pretty good condition. I think i documented it pretty accurately in the pics. There are some small rock chips in the front that i touched up w dr color chip.
@idealtechies thats just the angle using a wide angle lens. Look at pic 13 for a better view its flushed
Also on photo 14 it looks like the front bumper and fender is not flush can you confirm?
how's the rest of the rubber trim around the windshield / the bottom windshield and other rubber components? How's the paint in terms of rock chips?
@luis.seneriz that sounds about right Luis
Can you tell me half a quart every 1000 miles or such thanks? I personally like high mileage cars but I need to ask the right questions.
@luis.seneriz nothing out of the ordinary and i like to keep my eye on the oil level as a best practice.
Do you have any idea about how much oil it is consuming between oil changes?
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Bid in the amount of $6,247
@Tirefriar just passed smog recently
Will it come with valid smog cert for California buyers?
@OMGT3 thanks for the reply. Lots of people like cars that have never been tracked, but as an owner of a high mileage 996 that is a street/track car, I prefer track cars because my car is inspected 6 times a year and Uber well maintained. Anyway, this car does seem to be very well maintained and enjoyed so kudos.
@URS6 i havent done any track or DE ever on the car. Yes, shes been well loved :)
Has this car ever been used on track or for a DE? Looks well loved. Driven, but taken care of. Thanks.
Bid in the amount of $5,997
@snwmble buyer didnt have parking in his town.
What’s the story on this one? I thought it sold for $31k here on pcar a couple weeks ago?
Bid in the amount of $5,000
@OMGT3 So there was no repaint or body work done?
@idealtechies factory lobster wheel got bent. I replaced the wheels w these OZ superlegerra wheels. Had car inspected at dealer, car drives fine. Pics of the wheel that got damaged is included in picture set
Do you have more info on the accident, what was fixed and any photos or repair invoice thanks
Thank you for checking out this auction. The car has been awesome to drive. Ill try to answer your questions as best as possible.
Cheers
