Marking the inaugural year of the 997 generation, this 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe was prepared for Tourist Delivery at the Porsche factory in Germany by its original owner. It was ordered in Black over matching full leather upholstery and features a 6-speed manual transmission, optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Sport Seats, Sport Chrono Package Plus, and the Bose High-End Sound Package. Showing just over 40k miles on the odometer, this Carrera S is now being offered for auction at no reserve by its owner out of New York.
This 997 comes finished in Black with an optional rear window wiper, yellow ceramic brake calipers, and factory 19” Carrera S wheels with colored center crests. An aftermarket red "S" emblem has been added to the rear and the seller states the car has been driven very sparingly during their ownership, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is greeted by a premium black full leather interior including optional heated Sport Seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with Navigation Module.
As much as 355 HP comes from a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels. Factory-optioned performance upgrades include Sport Chrono Package Plus and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). The CARFAX report shows routine maintenance completed at authorized Porsche dealers in Connecticut and Florida from 2005 up until 2015. Service items addressed under prior ownership are said to have included replacing the ignition coils, air/oil separator, and IMS bearing.
This sale will include a clean title.

Ah yes, I completely missed the no reserve. Too impressed with the high bidding. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun for the new owner.
This really moved at the end! Came in very close to its almost identical cousin https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/2005-porsche-911-c2s/#auctionResults
I also liked this in a 40's. Awesome options package and I'll take your word for the IMS at that price point. But at this price, I needed some additional insurance.
@CBRacerX clearly you didn’t read that this is a no reserve auction! Lol
@Sheep187 you and me both!
@155MPH When this was in (and below) the mid 40s I loved the ambiguity... its a 2005 so if the IMS was an issue, who cares at that price... when it got higher I started to worry. Ha.
Sold for $58,750
Assuming it meets reserve (it should!) this was very well sold.
so, you all are not concerned with the supposed IMS - no proof - the paint readings - no explanation - and the rattles heard by one watching the video (I didn't hear those though... Hmmmm
Bid in the amount of $58,750
The way this car is equip it commands this kind of money! GLWA
That was interesting.

@saveferris199 Yep, as I said, just another assumption. Could be right or could be wrong. Anyway, would not stop me from being a bidder. If I were so inclined. I love the car - except the PCBs, but not for their tech, but for the color. Very off putting - for me.

@155MPH Fair enough.. I would agree they aren't consistent. I have anywhere from 3-8 mils could be 'factory'. but I think as a fact it is still up for dispute unless @911oldguy can verify any repaint

@saveferris199 I am assuming. The thickness of the paint reading. Nothing more. Factory pain would not be so inconsistent. Buy hey, that is my opinion.
@155MPH Since you are not the seller, what is your source for that information? Not disputing it, just wondering..
@155MPH Actually, I just rechecked, looks like right front was resprayed
As far as the paint meter readings go, you would assume the rear quarter has been resprayed, why? Who knows.
@911oldguy has the car ever been repainted?

@abovethelaw ims was replaced with the flywheel and clutch disc and the crankshaft seal @31721 miles on 1/18 2017at the carrera car shop in Huntington ny now known as import auto hay’s hope this helps
Bid in the amount of $34,000
@911oldguy - I see you mention sending the receipt for the IMS replacement to someone who commented. This should be posted to all as this is one of the main issues that are making people hesitant to bid
Do you have any documentation for the IMS bearing upgrade or the clutch replacement thats mentioned? Little hesitant to trust that "previous owner did it" without any real documentation.
@911oldguy I’m talking about all the loud rattles and clunking you hear during the video. They sound pretty loud about halfway through the video. Please upload a video from your iphone and post the YouTube link. Should only take a minute :) Much appreciated!
@daffy113 I purchased the car from ccs motors about 4 yrs ago
Seller, do you have any info on how the first owner used the car? Carfax shows it was serviced in CT at 29,007 and again at 29,209 but somehow the RMS was replaced in FL between those two services. A bit weird if not confusing.
@911oldguy Yes, that would be great
Bid in the amount of $33,000
Not that familiar with the engines the only thing I know it is the original engine when the car was built hope this helps
@911oldguy , I love everything about the car but I can't make out what motor it has.
No problem take you time thanks
Im sorry my bid was on hold so i could review the listing one more time and the computer put it through, sorry
@155MPH no but I have a copy which I will forward to you when I get home from work maybe about 2pm if that is ok ?
@911oldguy In that stack of receipts in the pictures, is one of them a receipt for the IMS replacement????
@saveferris199 no issues that I am aware of brakes work fine
@Panavision22 not sure of what you are alluding to the people at ocarina can answer that since they took the video no rattles that I am aware of
Bid in the amount of $32,000
@gcopelin Why would it be a 996 motor? Images of engine bay look identical to a 997.1 motor.
What I meant was did the IMS work require the motor to be torn down?
was the engine removed to replace the IMS bearing?
Good morning - Is there any documentation at all on the IMS service? Unfortunately, this is the elephant in the room for me. Have the brakes/pads been measured recently? Thanks!
@Panavision22 Agree, Seller some clarification on the interior rattles would be helpful.
I am confused , does this car have a 996 motor and why is there so much corrosion on the bottom of the car
A cold start, showing the exhaust during startup, would greatly help.
Any info on condition of PCCB's? Last pad replacement? Any indication from last service visit of condition?
thanks!
Do you have documentation on the IMS Bearing being replaced?
Bid in the amount of $31,250
Some odd interior rattles.. but not sure if it’s from the filming or from the car itself. Would you mind uploading another video with driving footage? Considering a bid :) Nicely optioned and clean.
@Rmv42158 none
Any previous PPI completed specifically a bore scope? Thank You.
Bid in the amount of $31,000
I am very surprised this is a NR car given its' options, mileage, IMS. I have very similar car in all respects and nothing under 50 would kick it out of my garage. GLWS.
@911oldguy completely understandable. Thanks for the response none the less.
@clarkent302 I do not know that answer perhaps someone at pcarmarket can answer the question as that they took the readings. Thanks for your comment
Thanks for uploading so many pictures and great information - major help and answered a lot of questions. One item, if you could help me with, is in regards to the paint meter reading. I am no pro when reading these and not sure where your meter is on the car when showing the thicknesses, since the pictures are so zoomed in. Is the meter indicating the passenger side of the car was probably repainted with the reports coming in at the 6.9-7.3mm (pictures 84, 86 &, 87)? Am I wrong in thinking the standard paint thickness for a 911, of this year with no bodywork done, should be in the 3.5mm-4.5mm range on the main panels?
Bid in the amount of $30,500
This appears to be a rare 997 launch car. I previously owned this version. There were 240 produced for the US. Loaded with every feature including full leather and PCCB’s. These cars are amazing. I wish I would have never sold mine. GLWS!
Bid in the amount of $29,997
Bid in the amount of $25,997
@clarkent302 no damage
@abovethelaw replaced before I purchased the car
Is the seat folded down in pictures 65 & 66 to show the discoloration in the carpet? I can’t tell if this is lighting on there is in fact fading/damage to the carpet.
Please clarify. Was the IMS bearing updated and replaced?
@whatupgus The listing description has been corrected, thank you.
Beautiful car, the description denotes 325 HP, but I believe it should be 355HP
You may want to change that, GLWA
