Up for auction is this 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera S Cabriolet finished in Paint to Sample Linen Metallic over a Cocoa Natural Leather interior. This launch-year 997 comes well equipped from the factory with optional 19” Carrera Classic wheels, a Sport Shifter, the Bose High-End Sound Package, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel in leather, and more. Having remained under the care of its original owner in California since new, this Carrera S is now being offered for auction showing approximately 81k miles on the odometer.
This 997 was ordered in the Paint to Sample color of Linen Metallic, a classic Porsche color offered on the transaxle 928 and 944 sports cars between 1989-1990. Other equipment includes 19” Carrera Classic wheels, a black cabriolet top, red-painted brake calipers, and Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean one-owner CARFAX report. The seller notes the rear bumper and bumperettes had been previously replaced.
The cabin is trimmed in premium Cocoa Natural Leather upholstery with matching carpets and aluminum-look inlays. Some signs of wear are depicted on the soft-touch surface materials as well as the radio and climate control knobs. A complete list of factory options is provided below:
The naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine delivers up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Compared to the entry-level Carrera, the Carrera S comes standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and larger fixed 4-piston brakes paired with cross-drilled 330mm discs front and rear. Maintenance history provided on the CARFAX report includes a 60k-mile service from Circle Audi in 2009 and a recent service from European Autoworks in 2021 including an oil change and brake fluid flush.
This sale will include the original window sticker and a clean title. Tastefully appointed with a Paint to Sample finish and Natural Leather interior, this 6-speed Carrera S just might be the Cabriolet you've been searching for.

Seller base on the car fax , I see that the tires where mounted 10 years ago is that correct?, I see the transmission was drop but no indication of a. IMs replacement or clutch replacement. This is one of the 997 where you can replace the IMs without splitting the cases. Could you comment on the condition of the clutch and brakes. I’m interested in it.
What was the production month / date of this Porsche and has the IMS bearing been upgraded or replaced?
