Designated as a launch car for the 997’s inaugural model year, this 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera S Coupe is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Sport Chrono Package Plus, Bose High-End Sound Package, and heated Adaptive Sport Seats. It has also been modified with an aftermarket cold air intake and exhaust system, a fixed rear spoiler, and black-painted 19” Carrera S wheels. Showing approximately 99k miles on the odometer, this Carrera S is now being offered for auction out of Georgia.
This Carrera S is finished in Black and modified with a fixed rear wing. Equipment includes xenon headlights, headlamp washers, optional auto-dimming mirrors, an electric sunroof, aftermarket quad exhaust tips, yellow ceramic brake calipers, and black-painted 19” Carrera S wheels. The seller reports the front and rear bumper covers were refinished during their ownership, and cosmetic imperfections can be seen around the exterior consistent with the vehicle’s mileage. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with an accident-free CARFAX report.
The Black full leather interior includes optional heated Adaptive Sport Seats, an Alcantara headliner, and a three-spoke leather steering wheel. Other accessories include Carrera S-branded floor mats, automatic climate control, cruise control, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation, a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch, and the Bose High-End Sound Package.
Factory-rated at 355 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The car is factory-equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Sport Chrono Package Plus, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). It has also been fitted with an aftermarket cold air intake and performance exhaust system. The CARFAX report shows 34 service history records.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “There is an odometer discrepancy on the Carfax. We are a Carfax Advantage dealer and have applied for a correction. A mechanic shop made a typo. Everything is progressive and the discrepancy is about 1000 miles which is typical of human error.”

I think this vehicles represents a great opportunity for a buyer that is looking for value and performance.
Its hard to find them in this condition and all these specs, but with enough miles to offset a major price tag.

@WH911 yes it is working. The mount/clip is beefy so I dont see it going anywhere unless you rip off the bumper cover.
Thanks!
Is it still functional? It being mounted that low I'm surprised it had not ripped off yet! 😅
@cdoggyd correct!
@WH911 Looks like part of the Passport radar. You can see it inside the car in pic 88.
What is the device/piece showing under the front bumper? See picture 32 for example.
@BoxsterGT yes it is aftermarket. Not the original aero kit. But it looks great, paint matches perfect and fitment is also perfect.
Where was the Fixed Rear Spoiler sourced? It was not original to this model.
Aftermarket quality is never as good as factory.
Following up on the DME requested below?
@GT4Driver I checked the car and there was a coin on the ash tray and both of the fold down rear seats were not latched in all the way. Will get one more vid tomorrow morning to see if that was it. Thank you
@abovethelaw We have not but the vehicle is not presenting any of the symptoms.
That’s awesome news! Has the car been bore scoped at all to check for signs of scoring?
@abovethelaw Thank you for the information. Turns out we do have one of the few serviceable 997s on our hands. The engine serial # is 68501655. I personally called the dealer and LN engineering and confirmed this information. Its definitely nice knowing that this one has the option of getting that service done, and if known before we probably would have done it before the auction as we did we the 996 (Lot #: V-0051001) we are currently selling here as well.
Also, noticed in the test drive there was rattling that was occurring at higher speed (ie 2:55 mark). Any known cause for that or know what area the rattling is coming from in the cabin?
Was there a DME report that can be shared?

The S model Porsche 997 911 Carrera S
M97.01 3.8 liter engine up to serial number 68509791 should have the serviceable single row IMS bearing. M97.01 engines after serial number 68509791 should have the larger 06-08 non-serviceable IMS bearing.
The engine serial number can be located on the lower edge of the engine's integrated dry sump.
Can you confirm what the engine serial number is on this car?

@cheungms @cheungms We just replaced a clutch on a similar vehicle. Based on the feels of that new clutch, our initial inspection, the way it engages and the stiffness of the pedal, we can guarantee the clutch won’t need attention/service any time soon.
@Joshocar we just uploaded the measurements for the PCCBs. These are the specs:
Front brake disk thickness new/minimum limit: 34.0mm/33.5mm
Rear brake disk thickness new/minimum limit: 28.0mm/27.5mm
Based on the measurements they are pretty much still as new.
Thank you

@jscortes191 thanks for the reply! Look forward to seeing a cold start vid with view from exhaust

@skevans00 @skevans00 we have no documentation of any IMS work being done. IMS (correct me if I’m wrong) seems to be less of and issues with the 997s as the failure %s indicate. Also the IMS service is less likely to be found on these vehicles due to the process being more extensive and complicated than it is on a 996.
@GT4Driver yes, cats are present on this vehicle. Will upload undercarriage pictures soon. Thank you!
Bumping cheungms question: Any info on IMS service on the vehicle?
I think I see one in the photo but does the performance exhaust have cats still on it?
@Hoodawg96 thank you sr!! I hope you are enjoying that car! Certainly a very special one!
Bought an 09 C4S from Seller this summer. Love the car. Had a "post" purchase inspection done at Goldcrest Motors, who assured me I got a really good car. I'd purchase from Seller again if I were in the market to buy.

Has the IMS been addressed? Life of clutch?
@jscortes191 Do you happen to have any photos of the internals ( boroscope)? Leakdown and compression #s?
@Joshocar we will be sharing more pictures, videos and information throughout the week. I’ll make sure we post the info on the condition of the brakes. Thank you for the engagement!
Are the brake calipers orange or yellow? There's a number of pictures showing them orange and some showing them yellow

What is the status of the PCCBs? It would be awesome to see the weight and thickness relative to the minimums so that we can have a sense of how much life is left in them.
