This final-year Porsche 996 is a Carrera 4S Cabriolet finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over premium Brown Natural Leather upholstery and features a 6-speed manual transmission paired with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine. It was optioned with 18” GT3 wheels, BOSE High-End Sound Package, supple leather seats, the Dark Burr Maple Wood Package, a painted center console, a wood-trimmed steering wheel, and more. This 4S benefits from an IMS bearing and clutch replacement in 2022 and has been modified with a removable Speedster-style tonneau cover, an Alpine touchscreen head unit, Bilstein dampers, H&R sport springs, a Numeric Racing short shifter, and a valved Cargraphic exhaust. Purchased by the seller in 2023, this Carrera 4S is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey with approximately 87k miles showing on the odometer.
The Carrera 4S features wider fenders than a standard 996 Carrera as well as Turbo-style bumpers, side skirts, and a unique reflector bar spanning between the taillights. This example is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with a blue cabriolet roof and a removable Speedster-style tonneau cover. Other equipment includes optional bi-xenon headlamps, fog lights, clear side marker lenses, body-colored rear bumperettes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, and optional 18” GT3 wheels in silver. The car rides on Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires showing date codes from 2021 and 2022. The front bumper is preserved under clear paint protection film and some signs of wear are noted on the convertible soft top. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with an accident-free CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Brown Natural Leather upholstery complemented by optional Dark Burr Maple wood trim and a body-colored rear center console. Other options include a wood-trimmed steering wheel, gear knob, and brake handle, heated power seats with lumbar support in supple leather, and the BOSE High-End Sound Package. Other accessories include automatic climate control, cruise control, an aftermarket wireless phone charger, a Numeric Racing short shifter, a new amplifier, front and rear parking cameras, and an Alpine touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. The seller indicates some wear on the parking brake handle, cracks in the wood trim, and the A/C fan whines at high speeds.
A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque stock to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Cargraphic valved exhaust resonators were installed by the current owner and the car was modified with H&R springs and Bilstein dampers under prior ownership. The IMS bearing, clutch, and rear main seal were replaced in 2022 along with the clutch pedal switch, front CV boots, tie rod boots, and toe links. The brake pads and sensors were replaced in 2023 along with a brake fluid flush, and the coil packs and ignition coils were replaced under current ownership. The most recent oil change was completed at approximately 86k miles.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a wind deflector, service records, a rolling hard-top stand, and a clean title. The CARFAX report shows a potential mileage discrepancy which may have resulted from a clerical error.
The seller would like you to know: "I purchased this car from a gentleman in Connecticut, he resided in suburbia, but, was retiring and moving to a mini-farm in Northern New England. His new residence has an almost half-mile dirt driveway. The Porsche is a great car, but it is not a Jeep. He invested a substantial amount in the car expecting to have it for years to come. He had the suspension rebuilt using premium components, ie; Bilstein shocks and struts, tie rod ends, and boots, as well as replacing the IMS bearing, clutch, and rear main seal in June 2022. He had the engine mounts replaced in July 2022. In December 2022 he had an oil change they cut open the old oil filter and found no metallic contamination. The clutch switch was replaced at that time. All brake pads were replaced in May 2023. The front driver’s seat cushion was replaced using a new one sourced from Porsche Atlanta. Two rear tires were replaced in November 2022. He had the shifter replaced with a Numeric Racing Short Throw Shifter. The car has an inductive cellphone charger on the dash. He added color-coordinated rear bumper plugs and clear side marker light lenses. After I received the car, since it is an all-wheel-drive, I proceeded to make it my “driver”. I figured it would cover me in the event of a moderate amount of snow. I sourced a color-matching hardtop and had the rear lock plates on the car replaced with the electrified version in order to facilitate the use of the rear in-glass defroster on the hardtop. I drove the car all Winter, it ran like a top. One rainy day I was driving and had one cylinder misfire after I drove through a puddle. I put the car into our local Porsche Genius’s shop and he replaced all six coil packs and wires. I have had a lot of cars in my day and I wanted to hear the car as well as see it. I had the shop replace the stock mufflers with Cargraphics mufflers retaining the OEM tips. These mufflers have an electronic remote to go with each ignition key to change the exhaust from very close to stock to a very pleasing growl when you step on it. At one point in my life, I had a Speedster. I loved the look of the Speedster. I purchased a set of Speedster Humps painted to match the car. They mount in the front windscreen mounting sockets just behind the front seats and are slipped under the rear cover after it is lifted an inch or two. It provides a smooth silhouette from the back of the headrest to the bottom of the rear bumper. It completely covers the jump seats as well as the folded top. They have three substantial clasps holding the two sides together. If it starts to rain, take them off, release the three latches, separate the two halves put them in their custom bags, stashed them behind the front seats, and put the top up. I am 82 years old. I have had way more than my share of exotic cars I still have a Ferrari in my garage that I just can’t part with. The car has been very, very well maintained, unfortunately, my body has not. I have replaced a few parts but I am not finding any replacements for my spine. It is to the point that I almost have to crawl out of the car. It is with a great sense of loss that I put it up for sale."

Increased my bid, showing respect .
I get better picture of the top ?
Bid in the amount of $33,000
I will try to get some pictures today. The top has no damage! It has several small abrasions from the vibrations of driving it when the top is down. The top is 100% watertight. I have had no issues with the top in any respect. If it had needed a top, I would have had a new one installed.
Can give close up pictures of the top ?
When i try expand 2 pictures you include, appears have lot damage.
Thank you !
A very nice car! But an AWD 4S without the hard top? What was the original owner thinking?
Leather in my 2007 4S all flush , no wrinkles.
Understand your car has lot more miles than mine.
Why front & back seats look wrinkled from wear ?
Front seat was replaced ,looks like passenger seat ?
Bid in the amount of $30,000
If this car does not sell, I will put it in the garage, under a cover next to my 87 Ferrari, and ultimately, probably give it to one of my grandsons. I hope none of them see this ad or I may start a "hay look at me grand-pop" I could really use that car!
Own 2007 4S cab, only put 2000 miles on yr.

Bid in the amount of $1,500
I don’t know if I mentioned it but when the new struts etc were installed they also replaced the springs.
I have most of the original parts that will go with the car including the hardtop stand.
I have a loose leaf binder with receipts from the last two owners.
I think if I were trying to make a profit on this car I would have to recover a shade over $56k. I did not do the updates I did to resell. I just physically have worsening back issues and this car is not helping this situation.
@gf2020 Yes and he says he won't take "a penny under 39k". Upside is this car has a really well documented sales history with photos, prior owners comments, etc, downside is everyone seems to feel entitled to sell it for a profit.
