Marking the inaugural year of the 997 generation, this 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Black full leather interior. This 997 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and features an aftermarket front spoiler, side skirts, and rear wing. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, an electric sunroof, quad exhaust tips, Porsche-branded brake calipers, and 19” Work Wheels dressed in Pirelli P Zero tires. Noted imperfections include signs of age on the rear stone guards, scratches on the side skirts, and some chips on the front end. The Black full leather interior includes power-reclining seats, a leather three-spoke TechArt steering wheel, a carbon fiber gear knob, automatic climate control, cruise control, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and an aftermarket Kenwood head unit with navigation. Factory-rated at 325 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine has been fitted with an aftermarket exhaust system and an upgraded LN Engineering IMS bearing. The CARFAX shows the most recent maintenance entries at Porsche South Bay with a 10k-mile service in 2022 at 24,778 miles.

Unfortunately the cleanest 997 he has ever seen could have scored cylinders. Its a dice toss.
@TommyPcar all he stated he had in his notes was that it was the cleanest 997 he had ever seen and he recommended a coolant flush and the buyer approve the coolant flush. He stated the car needed. Absolutely nothing else. I apologize. I wish I had more information to pass on
Was a bore inspection performed during the PPI?
I just spoke with the technician that did a PPI on this car less than a year ago. The vehicle has only had 100 miles put on it since then he said it was one of the cleanest ones he has seen and the only thing he recommended which the current owner did was a coolant flush.

I agree with what your saying Siberian24. My point is even though it has only 27,000 miles all the items i listed will need looked at.
BTW, "soft points"? Engine mounts do not kill a M96.03 engine. IMS, AOS, Bore-Scouring, and Water Pump Do kill a M96.03 engine in a heartbeat.
The OEM totally inefficient AOS is responsible for creating bore-scoring on hard right turns for bank 2, cyl 5 & 6.
The OEM AOS can not drain oil fast enough, so much so that P. changed the oil-dipstick length as a sort of "fake" solution. There is an aftermarket UAOS the eliminates this problem. The UAOS can run with 1.5 qt. more oil to eliminate oil starvation and not have oil drain (inside the engine) problems. It is a permanent solution with easily maintained parts. The LN IMS Retrofit is another "wear" item, and time-in-use OR miles AND both affect its longevity. LN R. is not a permanent solution. Just sayin.. FWIW.
Also correct on engine. Its not a Mezger. So IMO . IMS, Bore scoring, water pump, and motor mounts are the soft points on this vintage.

Correct on the 20 inch wheels. IMO they would have to come off the car and be replaced with the correct wheels.
Arguably not much left out of $5000. Was more interested in tire dates to see if any money could be recouped.
I dont have any idea on reserve price.
Option code 405 was Carerra Classic 19" wheels.
With all the comments on the tires, no one seems to notice that 20" tires are fitted to (as text states) 19" wheels. Also, IIRC, a 2005 3.6 is Not a Mezger engine. It is a M96.03, with all the characteristics of the .03 engine (TMS, IMS, AOS junk, Water Pump, etc.). No offence, just little corrections.
While more common in the high revving GT3 and Turbo engines, water coolant pipe leaks on this M96.05 are less common, but this engine is still a Mezger...
@RJM713TX coolant pipes are only a problem on the Mezger engines, which this does not have. Turbo and GT3 models only.
When the IMS was replaced, did they also pin the coolant pipes?

@Greggers13 thank you for commenting. I know lots of people are pierced and prefer original but I really do like these wheels. They look great and given an aggressive look to the car definitely dressed it up in my opinion.
Non stock wheels look nice, but I'd prefer the original ones. Low miles for a 20 yr old car.

@advantagead hello I am waiting to hear back from the technician that did the PPI to see what information he has as the seller does not have any records from when he had it done as for the tires and gate code. Let me give you the information on that as soon as possible

@likethebike current buyer had a PPI when he purchased it. He is only put a few hundred miles on the car since he purchased it. I will see if he has any records from his PPI
The write up for this Porsche states it has Pirelli tires yet the pictures of the wheel/tires show Michelin tires??

What state is the title in? Clean?
