Evoking the spirit of the original 1955 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé, the modern SLR supercar was developed by Mercedes-Benz in collaboration with their Formula One partner McLaren. Designed by Gordan Murray, the SLR was an automotive marvel of its day featuring a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, an active rear spoiler, Sensotronic carbon-ceramic brakes, butterfly doors, and a hand-built AMG 5.4L supercharged V8 generating over 600 HP. It was assembled at the McLaren Technology Centre in Surrey, England, as one of 2,157 units built in total. This 2005 example comes finished in Crystal Laurite Silver Metallic over an optional Silver Arrow Red leather interior. Acquired by the seller in 2022 from the original owner, this exquisite SLR is now being offered for auction out of New York while showing approximately 9k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Crystal Laurite Silver Metallic (977), a shade that pays homage to Mercedes’ famed “Silver Arrow” race cars. The striking bodywork is constructed from lightweight carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) and showcases butterfly-style doors, dual side-exit exhaust, front fender vents, a large rear diffuser, a smooth underbody, and an active rear spoiler that deploys automatically at varying degrees to maximize downforce and assist with braking. Silver-finished brake calipers are fitted beneath the factory 19” turbine-style wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires from 2020. Some cracks are noted on the rear reflectors. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Silver Arrow Red (L01) leather upholstery contrasted with black leather trim along. Equipment includes power-adjustable carbon fiber bucket seats, a grey Alcantara headliner, aluminum accents, pushbutton ignition, a multifunction steering wheel, full power accessories, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Bose Premium Sound System.
Mounted ahead of the cockpit towards the middle of the chassis for optimal weight distribution, the 5.4L all-aluminum V8 was hand-built by AMG and features a Lysholm-type twin-screw supercharger with dual intercoolers. Offering an output of up to 617 HP and 580 lb.-ft of torque with 13psi of boost, the SLR can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in as little as 3.6 seconds with a top speed over 200 MPH. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed AMG Speedshift R automatic transmission, while the car’s tremendous power is tamed by large carbon-ceramic brakes and Mercedes' Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC) system. The suspension consists of unequal-length control arms at all corners. Service carried out in September 2020 included the replacement of the underbody hardware, battery, rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, air filters, drive belts, and right door support. Additionally, service in November 2022 included of flushing the brake fluid, changing the oil, refinishing the front wheels, and replacing the instrument cluster.
This sale will include a clean title, a window sticker, owner’s manuals, and sales literature.

As we come to the end of this auction, I want to thank everyone for taking a look at our SLR.
Please bid with confidence as this is an outstanding example of a modern day classic.
Good luck to all.
@JAM2 Thank you. It’s a fantastic car. With its contemporaries such as the Carrera GT and Enzo selling for well over a million dollars, it’s clear that relatively speaking, the SLR remains an incredible value.
A true German supercar that once you become comfortable in, is easy and exciting to drive.
I hope this car finds a new home.
Great seeing this yesterday. This car is beyond clean, and looks like it was just shipped from the factory. Glwa @driverM
