Representing the fifth generation of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship SL-Class grand tourer, the R230 was the first in the model line to feature a power-operated retractable hardtop. Powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission, this 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is finished in Alabaster White over Beige leather upholstery. Equipment includes 18” AMG wheels, bi-xenon headlights, wood interior trim, a Bose sound system, automatic climate control, heated front seats, and much more. Acquired by the second and current owner in early 2023, this example is now being offered for auction out of California with just over 74k miles showing on the odometer.
This SL500 is finished in non-metallic Alabaster White (960U). Equipment includes a power-retractable hardtop, bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, fender air vents, dual exhaust outlets, and 18” AMG double-spoke wheels. A new set of Michelin all-season tires was fitted within the last 5k miles. The seller reports that the paint is in excellent condition, with the exception of two small rock chips. Additionally, a ceramic coating was applied at a cost of $1,500. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features power-adjustable, heated, and cooled multi-contour front seats upholstered in Beige (205A) leather. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, an integrated garage door opener, a luggage compartment net, and a Bose sound system. Additionally, a Kenwood Excelon DMX958XR with Bluetooth connectivity, satellite radio, navigation, and a backup camera has been installed at an approximate cost of $3k. All gauges and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.
Power comes from an M113 5.0L V8 engine rated at 302 HP and 339 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 7G-Tronic shiftable 7-speed automatic transmission. Active Body Control (ABC) suspension comes standard along with anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, and Sensotronic electrohydraulic brake control. The seller highlights that the roof mechanism has been inspected and lubricated, new trunk hydraulic supports have been installed, the ECU chip has been replaced and reprogrammed, and the battery and alternator were recently replaced.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a car cover.

I am the second owner and have gone through this car, as it was my wife's car, and we just do not use it very often. It sits in the garage for 6 months of the year as we winter in Arizona. All maintenance is up to date, and the car has no mechanical or electrical issues. The smaller V8 provides great power, shifting smoothly and handling well. This car turns heads when driven either in the convertible mode or the hardtop mode.”

Has anything been done with the ABC system?
@rleonik The car has always been garaged and the underside is clean, no signs of corrosion and yes i did not get a chance to shampoo the floormats ( no grease only mud) and the carpet underneath is in perfect shape. Exhaust has never been modified. I have never had the car detailed, only ceramic coated and hand washed. I don't think there is a cleaner 500Sl out there. thanks for your comments

Text says unveiled at Frankfurt in 2011. This is a 2005. Needs floormats but this looks like a good driver. GL
