Up for auction is this 2005 Jaguar XKR Supercharged Convertible finished in Platinum over a Charcoal leather interior with Burl Walnut trim. Denoting the pinnacle of Jaguar’s XK lineup, this XKR Convertible features a power-operated cloth top, premium creature comforts, and a supercharged 4.2 L V8 engine offering 390HP at the rear wheels. Purchased by its second and current owner from a Jaguar dealership at 36k miles, this XKR has been kept in excellent driving order with approximately 81k miles shown on the odometer. It is now being offered out of Long Island, NY accompanied by the original window sticker and a clean title.
The Platinum finish on the Jaguar is noted to be in fair condition with some cosmetic imperfections as depicted in the photo gallery. Some very minor rear-end damage was reported on Carfax in 2016 which is said to have only required the replacement of a taillight. Recent paint meter readings are provided in the photo gallery as well. The XKR features slightly more aggressive styling than its standard counterpart including a subtle rear spoiler, chrome mesh grille, and twin hood vents. This example is equipped with a functional power-operated black convertible top and factory 18” alloy wheels which have all been dressed in new tires within the last 2 years.
The Charcoal leather interior is complemented by Burl Walnut trim. Creature comforts include heated and power operated Spot Seats with 2-position memory, an Alpine 320W audio system with 6-disc CD changer, DVD navigation, and rear parking sensors. The cabin is reported to be in good shape except for some cosmetic flaws including a heavily worn steering wheel and a tear on the driver's seat-back release. The driver’s auto window raise feature is said to have intermittent issues when closing the door, and all other gauges and accessories are said to be working properly.
A supercharged 4.2 L DOHC V8 engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission which sends 390 HP to the rear wheels. Standard performance features include Brembo 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, Computer Active Suspension, and Dynamic Stability Control. Routine maintenance has been kept up to date through an authorized Jaguar dealership and the following items were addressed by an independent shop earlier in 2020 at 80K miles:
A coolant warning light is said to come on intermittently; however, the cooling system is said to have been recently inspected and found to be working properly. The spark plugs, air, and cabin filters have also been recently replaced and this XKR is said to be in excellent running order.
This sale will include a set of 2 ignition keys and 1 valet key, the original books and purchase documents, a tonneau cover, a clean title, and some service records. Introduced as the ultimate luxury roadster offered by Jaguar, this supercharged XKR now represents an exceptional value for any driving enthusiast.

@912harley The Jaguar engine issues were resolved well before the 2005 model year in the USA
Bid in the amount of $6,500
@912harley there are no open recalls that the seller is aware of as well as noted on carfax, the car starts, runs and drives excellent especially when considering the age and mileage.
Hi,
Jaguar had a problem with these early engines and did a factory recall to replace them. Has this been done, or was there a difference with the US version. Thanks
@Lyonsfin Hello. From the seller;
Window operates normal, only on occasion do you have to hold the switch rather than one-touch
Headlight and other functions work properly
Top is watertight. No leaks
Coolant line was replaced and there is no issue with the cooling system. Only the light displays intermittently (perhaps a sensor)
Bid in the amount of $6,000
Assuming drivers window goes up & down fine, just an issue with the one touch function? Noticed moisture in the right front headlight, does it function properly? Was the coolant leve sensor replaced?
All other items function fine? AC? Top is watertight?
Thanks.
