Undoubtedly one of the most iconic supercars of the 21st century, the Ford GT was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ford and pays homage to the legendary Ford GT40 Mark II race car that dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans during the late 1960s. This 2005 example is one of 766 finished in Mark IV Red for the model year and comes generously equipped with all four available factory options. It was acquired by the current owner in 2021 and is now being offered for auction with just over 21k miles on the odometer.
The Ford GT features aluminum body panels over an extruded-aluminum space frame and includes a front splitter, a vented hood, a rear lip spoiler, side air intakes, a flat underbody, and a finned rear diffuser. Other exterior equipment consists of a dual center-exit exhaust system, HID headlamps, a forged aluminum fuel door, fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, and solar-tinted glass. This example is finished in Mark IV Red with optional over-the-top racing white racing stripes and Ford GT side graphics as well as optional red painted brake calipers and 18”/19” BBS forged alloy wheels currently dressed in Bridgestone tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Ebony leather with manually adjustable Sparco bucket seats featuring carbon-fiber backings, harness pass-throughs, and GT40-style ventilation grommets. Other details include aluminum-rimmed GT40-style instrumentation, GT40-inspired dash-mounted toggle switches, a cast magnesium center console with rotary climate controls, an aluminum ball shifter, handbrake, and door sill finishers with Ford badges. The driver is provided with air conditioning, remote keyless entry, push-button ignition, and the optional McIntosh CD stereo which equips a subwoofer between the seats. The seller notes a shorter gear shift lever has been installed.
The mid-mounted 5.4-liter DOHC V8 engine is paired with a Lysholm screw-type supercharger for an output of up to 550 HP and 500 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a Ricardo 6-speed manual transaxle and a helical limited-slip differential. The Ford GT can reach 60 MPH in as little as 3.3 seconds with a top speed of over 200 MPH. The CARFAX report shows some maintenance history including service in 2020 at 20k miles with an oil and filter change. The seller notes the front hood support struts are weak.
This sale will include a clean title.

I have both
Car looks pretty honest. This is an "05, and so much of the emissions stuff is straight out of the Ford parts bin. Check engine light comes on it's not really an issue. GL
both keys
Do you have both keys?
The Ford V Ferrari movie immortalized this car.

@kekoaalona what is your pre pandemic value on this car
Good luck everyone! This car should make someone very happy.
Perhaps these bids are starting to reflect the $ range we were accustom to "pre pandemic" that were more realistic of values for all "play" vehicles. Possibly a sign prior to the inevitable economic down turn? Maybe I'm mistaken...GLTWB !!

The $250 bid increment when we're six figures below market value is an interesting strategy for sure. RM/Gooding auctioneers would have none of that :)

Great car. no paint meter readings
I am glad to take the car to the dealership with the winner ;-)
only the nose of the car is covered in the clear protectant. I am glad to take to car with the winner to the local dealership.
Bid in the amount of $145,250
Is the entire car covered in PPF?
is it possible to add the paint meter readings?
I have had the car for 2 years. It has a clean car fax. It has not been in any accidents that I am aware of. Winning bidding can inspect.
Thank you for the answers.
All GTs came standard with the front trunk boot liner. It’s weight is minimal so taking it off would not provide much in weight savings and actually exposes the car to more potentially harmful elements. Also I believe the $399 eBay cost is just for the weather stripping. The liner itself is an additional $895.
Can you confirm the car has not been in any accidents or had body/paint repair?
Good morning Bidders. The auction starts today for real for this iconic car. Winner receives the car in the pictures. Winner is more than welcome to come and see the car. Car did not come with a tub for the front space when I purchased the car. I was told it was built that way for reduced weight. The tubs are available on ebay for $399 if you would like one. I have the owners manual. but not the car cover, or bag, or charger. I do not believe the air bags have been replaced. Car runs and drives very well. Very smooth. Looks fantastic. You get what you see in the pictures. Please look at them and ask any questions. Good Luck!!!
Hello, does the GT have any of the following:
-both sets of keys
-owners manual
-GT original car cover
-GT original car cover bag
-GT original charger
-Original window sticker
Also I don't see the front trunk boot that covers the battery and other items. This allows you to use the front as a small trunk for bag(s)
lastly, have the airbags been replaced?
Bid in the amount of $145,000
I see you really like red. Beautiful FGT!
I purchased the car in 2021. The Car had just over 20k miles when I purchased it. I have seen other GTs that the surround on the door has come loose. I believe this to be a known situation with the GTs. I surmise that the previous owner replaced with the current black version. The gear shift and the clear bra are the only mods I am aware of. I have put 1,000 miles on the car and it has been in my garage since I purchased it. Winning bidder is welcome to come and inspect car.
In the comments I see you talk about a replacement can you please address that issue and let me know what is stock and original and what has been replaced
Bid in the amount of $110,000
Bid in the amount of $100,000
Ok just added cold start video
Beautiful car. Can you please include a cold start video (hand touching engine beforehand for proof) and driving video?
It appears to be a replacement to the original.
@crash.n.rally thank you, can you clarify the door surrounds: -the interior door surround looks to be black but should be the same color as the console and door close handle. Is this just a wrap or is it a replacement of the original?
Everything you see is what I have. I purchased the car in 2021. I believe the car to be stock accept for the gear shifter. Gauges all seem to work well.
hello,
-are the guages stock and properly functioning?
-do you have the stock shifter?
-the interior door surround looks to be black but should be the same color as the console and door close handle. Is this just a wrap or is it a replacement of the original?
