We are pleased to present this 2005 Ford GT finished in Mark II Black with silver stripes over an Ebony leather interior. Introduced in 2005, the first-generation Ford GT was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ford and recalls the legendary Ford GT40 Mark II race car that won four consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans races in the late 1960s. Visually inspired by the original, the 2005 GT was considered the first modern supercar out of the United States featuring an aluminum chassis, Brembo brakes, carbon-fiber bucket seats, and a supercharged 5.4L V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Sold new from Louisburg Ford of Kansas at an original MSRP of just under $167k,  this Ford GT was specified with all four available options including silver hand-painted racing stripes, forged BBS wheels, red-painted brake calipers, and a McIntosh stereo system. Now showing just over 1k miles on the odometer, this outstanding 2005 example is being offered for auction by its seller out of Ohio.

This Ford GT was ordered in Mark II Black with optional hand-painted silver racing stripes and red brake calipers. The GT is built on a lightweight aluminum space frame with front and rear clamshells, aluminum body panels, and a passenger safety cell. Aerodynamic elements include a front splitter, vented hood, a rear lip spoiler, side air intakes, a flat underbody, and a finned rear diffuser. The seller notes only a few minor imperfections as depicted in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The optional 18"/19" BBS forged wheels remain dressed in their original Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires.

The cabin is upholstered in Ebony leather and features manually adjustable Sparco bucket seats with carbon-fiber shells, pass-throughs for racing harnesses, and GT40-style ventilation grommets. Other details include aluminum-rimmed GT40-style instrumentation, GT40-inspired dash-mounted toggle switches, an aluminum center console with rotary climate controls, an aluminum ball shifter, handbrake, and door sill finishers with Ford badges. Driver’s amenities consist of air conditioning, HID headlights, remote keyless entry, and the optional McIntosh audio system which equips a subwoofer mounted between the seats.

The Ford GT is powered by a mid-mounted 5.4L supercharged V8 that produces up to 550 HP and 500 lb.-ft of torque, featuring dry-sump lubrication, a forged-steel crankshaft, and forged aluminum pistons. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission with a twin-plate clutch and a mechanical limited-slip differential, which allows the GT to reach 60 MPH in as little as 3.7 seconds with a top speed over 200 MPH. The independent double-wishbone suspension features unequal-length aluminum lower control arms and coil-over monotube shocks while stopping power is handled by four-piston aluminum Brembo calipers paired with cross-drilled and vented rotors at all four corners. Weighing in less than 3,500 lbs., the Ford GT offers an excellent power to weight ratio and sharp, responsive handling. The CARFAX report shows both front airbags were replaced under recall in 2019 at 1,051 miles.
