Up for auction is this 2004 Volvo S60R finished in Titanium Grey Metallic over a Nordkap Blue R soft leather interior. Introduced in 2004, the S60R was the high-performance version of Volvo's S60 sedan featuring upgraded Brembo brakes, a Haldex all-wheel-drive system, a 6-speed close-ratio manual gearbox, 18” Pegasus wheels, revised aerodynamics, and a semi-active “Four C” suspension. Delivered new at Mitchell Volvo of Simsbury, Connecticut and cared for by its original owner ever since, this S60R is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Connecticut showing approximately 92k miles on the odometer.
This S60R was ordered in Titanium Grey Metallic (455) and features a unique “R” front grille as well as a more aggressive front bumper, a power glass moonroof, a rear decklid spoiler, bi-xenon headlights with wipers, fog lights, and grey brake calipers with white “R” logos. The factory 18” 5-spoke Pegasus alloy wheels are mounted with new Continental DWS tires and a ceramic coating has been applied over the full exterior, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Nordkap blue soft leather with 8-way heated multi-contoured sport seats. Equipment includes a leather-wrapped “spaceball” shift knob, blue-faced “R” instrumentation, aluminum accents, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an Audio Max radio with an in-dash four-disc CD changer and a Dolby Pro-Logic II Surround Sound system. The seller reports some minor wear to the driver’s seat and confirms all features and accessories are working properly, although an airbag recall is due.
The S60R is equipped with a 2.5L turbocharged 5-cylinder engine which produces up to 300 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque, driving all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a Haldex all-wheel-drive system. The S60R can accelerate to 60 MPH in less than 6 seconds with an electronically governed top speed of 155 MPH. Standard performance features include 4-piston Brembo brake calipers, a larger turbocharger producing 15 psi of boost, twin intercoolers, redesigned camshafts, and variable valve timing. The Volvo “Four C” (Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept) semi-active suspension also allows the driver to select from three different drive modes. The CARFAX report shows this S60R to have passed an emissions test in October of 2018 as well as the driver’s airbag replaced under recall in September of 2021.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner's manuals, and a clean title.

This looks to be a very nice S60R, folks. If the bidding doesn't catch fire soon, I cannot imagine it will reach reserve today, and sell. This appears to be a rare opportunity to buy a very nice example of these fine cars, but bidding is nowhere near reflecting that as yet.

@harris_telemacher Hi the left side of the driver's seat bolster has a small repair everyone knowing these cars the seats are super nice but getting in and out of you rub the side of the seat I will try to post a picture today if I can get the guys at pcarmarket the latest Monday morning as far as records the customer said when he moved he lost them. The condition speaks for the care that was taken . Not having the records we went above and beyond. The list we posted of the work done over $5000.00 in parts over 20hrs labor . This car being driven only 4000 miles a year. one owner and condition speaks for itself who ever gets this Volvo S60R will have no regrets. Thanks
Very nice R. Any images of the described minor wear to the driver’s seat? Curious to gauge it since the seats look so well preserved. Also, any original owner maintenance records? Thanks!

Had the pleasure of seeing this car shine in person, never seen a TiGray look so good! A major standout was that the often sun damaged exterior trim looks so good I didn’t even realize it was an 04 at first… to me that really speaks to the first owners care and use. Now it seems like all the service is up to date, and I can say from experience these guys know what they are doing. My family has purchased and serviced 3 R’s (along with 6 other vehicles) with Driving Image Imports over the years and I know we’ll be back for more. If only the timing was right for me, with that kind of mileage it is very tempting to tuck it in the garage!! I’m sure someone will be very happy to drive this one home…Great work!
Hi, Wadds1971 Thanks for the comments this Volvo is in great shape all original paint 18 years old some small scratches on shifter panel marks on the door panel unlike this car a lot of these cars were modified and driven !!!!!! We have driven and worked on many over the years great cars. When we got this one we were amazed by the condition so we did all the necessary work to respect this car. after picture three stated airbag recall is due. some people want to do an airbag cover swap to save the R thanks again hope this helps .everyone.
Wow! This looks like a very attractive and compelling S60R, that I would be more than interested in bidding upon had I not just bought back the '07 S60R I had purchased new, but regrettably sold five years ago. I can't believe how clean the undercarriage looks on this car, and the long list of services on pic #115 (which I assume have just been performed) have resolved many of the major items that might affect these cars at this mileage. New 4C Monroe-Ohlins struts, new tires, new exhaust, refreshed hoses and suspension bits, filters, fluids, etc., etc. This car does appear to be "ready to go" for many years to come.
I noted a fair amount of scratching on the trim piece around the "spaceball shifter", as well as some slight damage to the inside trim panel on the driver's door, but they are offset by seats that have Nordkap leather in unusually beautiful condition. The refinished 18" Pegasus wheels are another great bonus.
All in all, these are just terrific sport sedans that perform very well in the corners, while providing an extremely smooth and confident ride on the highway, too. And, those front seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever experienced in any car I've owned. While it's true that the V70R wagons seem to get all the love for their practicality and carrying capacity, these S60R sedans are vastly underrated right now. Go for it!
P.S.: I think PCar should correct the wording of their description re: the airbag recall, though. From the pics, it is clear that the steering wheel airbag has NOT yet been replaced under the recent safety recall. Unfortunately, the replacement airbag that Volvo supplies is not an exact match for the original, as the new airbag cover loses both the nice "R" insignia as well as the cool blue stitching of the original. But, the trade-off in safety is likely well worth the loss in cosmetics. Good luck with this auction!
Great car, and an amazing job presenting it. I was leaning wagon, but this has me thinking......

Hi, We are pleased to offer this one owner Volvo S60R 6 speed on Pcarmarket This Volvo is in amazing shape no paintwork, front license plate bracket has never been installed on the front bumper, no holes have ever been drilled to mount. As a long time trusted member of the New England Volvo community we have worked on many Rs since their release and knowing the ins and outs of the R platform we have performed more than a complete stage zero for the next owner to enjoy for years to come. This is a one-owner has NEVER been modified car. These cars are getting harder to find let alone an example like this. We are here to answer any questions
