Up for auction at no reserve is this 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton finished in Black over an Ivory leather interior. Introduced in 2003 as Volkwagen's premier flagship sedan, the Phaeton was designed under the direction of then VAG chairman Ferdinand Piech to compete with ultra-luxury sedans like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. This example was purchased new at Concourse Motors of Milwaukee in 2004 with a long list of standard amenities and was acquired by the current owner in 2014. This Phaeton has benefitted from a lifetime of dealership maintenance and is accompanied by all service records during the current ownership and some from the previous owner. Showing approximately 106k on the odometer, this V8-powered Phaeton is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This Volkswagen was ordered in Black (L041) with chrome accents and features a power sunroof, heated power exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals, quad-lamp xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, LED brake lights, an aluminum hood, and polished dual exhaust outlets. The factory silver 7-spoke 18” alloy wheels wear Continental ExtremeContact tires from 2017. A clean CARFAX report is available and the seller notes some small scuffs and paint chips as depicted in the gallery.
The interior features Ivory leather upholstery accented by Eucalyptus wood veneers. Standard amenities include power-adjustable climatized and massaging seats, cruise control, full power accessories, a power rear sunshade, rear side sunshades, twin-insulated glass, 4-zone automatic climate control, a 10-speaker sound system, an LCD infotainment system with navigation, as well as a dehumidifier and interior air filter, a trip computer, and leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel. The seller reports some wear to the carpeting and confirms all accessories, instrumentation, lighting works properly.
This Phaeton is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.2L V8 factory rated at 335 HP and 317 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission and a Torsen-based 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. The Phaeton can accelerate from a standstill to 60 MPH in 6.5 seconds with an electronically governed top speed of 155 MPH. Performance features include an adjustable air suspension system with Electronic Dampening Control and auto-leveling, Engine Braking Control, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, and Servotronic power steering. The CARFAX report shows a brake fluid flush and oil service performed at 90,680 miles and additional records are said to accompany the sale.

@llrj2 No on those two options. I could not find any information about them ever being offered on the Phaeton.

Can any Phaeton experts tell me if the US ever got the option for the humidor or the RADAR cruise? They never seem to be equipped with either.

@andywr14 , did you look through ALL of the pictures? It's plainly on #105, the only picture that shows the console. I have seen that same issue with many 2004 Phaetons. It's like VW put premium parts everywhere but some of the plastics.
@Carbidness Yes they are remarkable cars. I looked at a new Bently last week. It is stunning. However it is much larger outside and much smaller inside. Could not understand that. I wish V W had brought the Phaeton back to the U S as they had planned.
@Abuong01 No, none that I am aware of. The car was completely inspected and a new alternator installed last week. The name of the shop are among these comments.

@llrj2 The floor matts will come with the car. My local V W dealer informs me the buttons can not be orderer by him. He said most of that type of item is found on the internet.

Do you have the floor mats for the car? Do you know if there are replacement parts available for the worn upper console buttons?

@Abuong01 No, I have no such video . I am traveling right now and would not be able to make a video until after the auction has ended Thursday. However, I put a new alternator in the car last week and they went over all electronics and everything was working properly. Thanks for your interest!
