Equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, this 2004 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S comes finished in Seal Grey Metallic over a Black full leather interior. It was generously optioned with 18” GT3 wheels, a Sport Shifter, the Sport Exhaust System, the Xenon Headlamp Package, the Aluminum/Chrome Package, the Technic Package, and Custom Tailoring. Showing approximately 98k miles on the odometer, this C4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Washington.
This 996 comes finished in Seal Grey Metallic and is distinguished as a 4S by its wide fenders, Turbo-style bumpers, and model-specific reflector band spanning between the taillights. Exclusive stainless-steel tailpipes are included with the optional Aluminum/Chrome Package (Y29) while other options include the Xenon Headlamp Package and 18” GT3 wheels with colored Porsche crests. It rides on Michelin Pilot Sport tires with 7/32 tread remaining. A lowered stance has been achieved with H&R springs, and the front spoiler lip, front and rear bumper vent slats, lower rocker panels, and rear bumperettes have been finished in Seal Grey Metallic. Additionally, paint protection film has been applied to the front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, and door edges. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Black full leather upholstery and features optional front seat heating, a Sport Shifter, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and Black floor mats with Porsche lettering. The selected Technic Package includes a dash-mounted CD player and an on-board computer. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.
The naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine is rated at 315 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission, and stopping power is provided by fixed four-piston brakes derived from the 911 Turbo. The optional Sport Exhaust System provides a louder, more aggressive tone. Standard performance features include Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD). The seller adds that all service items have been performed by an authorized dealer or independent Porsche shop, including the IMS bearing. Additionally, the CARFAX report notes regular oil changes.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thanks for checking out my auction for my C4S! I purchased this one to modify it to make it look like my 997 but just can’t bring myself to do it as this car is so honest and original. I’ve made a couple of cosmetic modifications which I feel make the car look way better (they are reversible) but other than that it’s completely stock and original. The original owner loved this car for almost 19 years and decided to sell it as he wasn't able to drive it any longer, he was absolutely meticulous about maintaining his baby and it shows from all the receipts he provided. I have driven it sparingly over the past year and it really deserves to go to someone who will use it as opposed to just sitting in my garage. Thank you in advance for any kind words and bids and good luck to all participating.”

I just wanted to say I saw this car in person. It is incredibly clean. I didn’t get to have a good look underneath the car, but the engine starts up beautifully and the condition of the exterior and interior is top notch. It feels like stepping back in time 20 years in the best way possible.
I really want to bid on this but my timing is just off by a few months with a move coming up imminently. I think it would be incredibly hard to find another example as clean as this and I am sad to be missing out.

I may have to sleep on the couch for a month or in my garage if I add this to my driver list. Think it’s worth it.

Gorgeous car! I love the GT3 wheels!
Good morning PCM community! We're coming up on the home stretch and I wanted to thank everyone who has viewed my auction, thanks to everyone I spoke with and thanks to Jacob for fighting traffic yesterday to come out to see my car in person. I'm sure those of you that are bidding have done your diligence and know I purchased this last year from another online auction...my intention was to keep this car for a long time however my plans for the car have changed and now it's time to find a great home for it. I did not purchase this car with the intent to profit from it so don't let my purchase price deter you in any way as I didn't put it up for sale to "test the market", I am selling the car. I feel the reserve is set at a fair number considering the caliber of this car but I also realize the market has shifted since last year and if it gets close I will be lowering my reserve so bid with the intent to own it as my intention is to sell it. I bought this car for the "story/owner" and I'm sure you all know how difficult it is to find a 1-owner example that has been in one state it's entire life with comprehensive service history and that's why I bought it. If you are looking for an exceptional example that has been well cared for, doesn't have paint fade or paint work, doesn't have dried out and cracked leather, has no corrosion (Washington State car it's entire life), and has complete service history/keys/owner's books then this one checks all the boxes! I'm sure you can find cheaper examples in the market that have lived in multiple states and have changed hands several times however just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's a better deal - just means you initial investment is lower. My car is fully sorted mechanically and all the "996" issues have been corrected. Hard to believe this car has only had 2 full time drivers in 20 years.
I will be today available if there are any last minute questions. Thanks again for the kind words and support and good luck to all bidders today!

Sounds like a nice 996, GT3 wheels, IMS done and 6 speed manual. C4S and Turbo are the only 996’s that still get me excited when I get behind the wheel. Linear engine and price point compared to Turbo makes it one of the best sport cars money can buy. Turbo look and brakes make it a modern M491 for a fraction of the price. I may bid on this one and get kicked out of the house.
@jacob_dbu I know the service manager at Cantrell Motorsports and he has been involved with this cars maintenance since day one (he was also service manager at Bellevue Porsche for 20+yrs) and this was never a concern for the previous owner or an issue when I asked his opinion about the car when I decided to purchase it. If he would have brought it up I would have had that inspection performed. Thanks for the question.
@jacob_dbu No, didn’t see the need for one as it’s been maintained by 2 very reputable facilities at every required/recommended interval.
Has there been any inspection done for bore scoring at all?

@Doh_boy IMS and water pump replacement completed 8/24/21 @ 92584 miles. Just added pics of RO.
@adaugherty Yes, clutch, intermediate shaft seal was replaced by Porsche Bellevue in November 2011 at 57k miles. I added the decals August 2023 and car has been stored in my garage. I can remove them if buyer requests, I left them on cuz it matches my other 2 and I think it looks cool :)
Bid in the amount of $20,000
Has the clutch been replaced? From what I've seen it's normally done during the IMS service, but the Carfax 8/30/21 listing doesn't mention it (then again, it doesn't mention the IMS bearing either...). Also, were the fender decals added by you or the previous owner? I'm just wondering if the paint might be damaged by removing them, or if the paint underneath is less faded than the surrounding paint, based on how long they've been on there.
Love the spec, by the way. Something about the GT3 wheels on the C4S just feels right.
I just added a couple photos of alignment results and inspection performed by Porsche Bellevue. Oil service was completed about 90 miles ago.

@Doh_boy - I am out of town for a couple days and will get this posted Monday evening hopefully. For now you can see it was completed by Cantrell Motorsports on 8/30/2021 on the Carfax report pages 11/12. The original owner purchased the car from Porsche Bellevue and had it maintained there until the service manager moved to a local independent Porsche shop (Cantrell Motorsports) and the owner followed him there. Cantrell has worked on a couple of my Porsches and when I called the service manager to ask about this C4S he told me "you'd be an idiot not to buy it" as he knew the car and original owner since it was delivered and told me that the original owner was the guy that fixed/repaired/maintained everything whether it was due or not.
Are you able to share the documentation on IMS bearing replacement? It may be on that well-kept stack of service invoices, but it’s hard to spot as-is.
Good afternoon PCARmarket and thank you for checking out my car. I am available if anyone has additional questions or needs additional pics, I tried to be as thorough and detailed as possible but I'm sure I missed something. Side note...I did not have my car detailed prior to the auction, I wanted the photos to reflect the true condition of my car. Good luck and thanks for visiting!
