Celebrating one of Porsche’s most legendary race cars, the 2004 Boxster S 550 Anniversary Edition was produced in a limited series of 1,953 examples in honor of the original Porsche 550 Spyder, launched in 1953. Finished in GT Silver Metallic over premium Natural Leather upholstery, it features a 3.2-liter flat-six engine with increased power, a unique double-tipped exhaust pipe, revised bumpers, painted interior trim, heated Sport Seats, a Bose sound system, two-tone 18” Carrera wheels, Sport Suspension, bi-xenon headlamps, and a numbered limitation plaque. This example is one of 500 produced for the U.S. and remains part of the original owner’s collection in Pennsylvania with approximately 6,500 miles showing on the odometer.
All 500 Anniversary Edition cars are finished in GT Silver Metallic, a color derived from the contemporary Carrera GT supercar. Compared to a standard Boxster S, it also features revised bumper covers, painted air intake grilles, aluminum-colored brake calipers, polished rear lettering, a unique stacked double-tip exhaust outlet, and painted roll bars. Other equipment includes a power-operated convertible top, Litronic bi-xenon headlamps, fog lights, heated power mirrors, side air intakes, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. The seller indicates the car is in pristine original condition, and clear paint protection film is applied to the front bumper. The tires show production date codes from 2011 and are recommended for replacement. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this limited-edition Boxster S is appointed with Dark Grey Natural leather upholstery and features a pair of Sport Seats. The center console, handbrake lever, dashboard trim, and instrument surround are finished in GT Silver Metallic. Other accessories include an aluminum gear knob, a three-spoke sport steering wheel with perforated grips, perforated leather for the shifter and handbrake boots, chrome gauge bezels, and a numbered limitation plaque ahead of the center console. The car is also equipped with automatic climate control, cruise control, an onboard computer, a CD stereo, and a Bose sound system.
The 3.2-liter flat-six engine in this special edition produces up to 266 HP, a 6 HP increase over the standard Boxster S. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard features include a 10mm-lowered Sport Suspension, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and fixed 4-piston brakes with cross-drilled rotors at each corner. An oil service and inspection were completed in September 2025.

Wow, great sale. I was interested until it got crazy. I want a driver, not a collectible. We have a 986 with almost 90k on the clock. Of the P cars we have, it's wifey's fave. Thought this would be a nice 'new' one for her. She'll have to accept a 718 I guess.

@campodf Yes, it's true. That's why it seemed worth the price premium over other similar AE 986s. I'll be driving this car, not storing, so I wanted one with higher miles. Let's see what happens with this fine specimen!

@bpiersma @bpiersma: I really liked the colors on the one that you just won! Especially great was the borescope, IMS and clutch work that was very well documented. The previous owner really did that car a favor by spending a lot of money getting the car to basically as perfect as it could be.

Hello, we received a call from a potential bidder expressing that he is extremely particular about imperfections. He wanted me to run my fingers down the edges of the doors as he wanted to know if there were any nicks or chips from parking lots or similar situations where the edges of the doors may have come in contact with another car or object. After running my fingers down both doors, I assured him there are no imperfections on either door and that one would be hard pressed to tell the difference in the condition of this car when it was new in 2004 vs today. I hope this helps others understand just how clean and special this car is. Now it's time for me to go wipe my fingerprints off the doors!

@WRENCH.56 Hello @WRENCH.56 It happens quite a bit as I am sure you have seen many low-mileage examples right here on PCar Market. It usually comes down to time and the number of cars one has. In this case, the previous owner had quite the collection.
Help me understand; why would anybody buy a car of this nature and not drive it?
6,000 miles in 21 years? Really?
I routinely buy cars with 10-15 times that number on the odometer.
