Representing the final year of the original 986 Boxster model, this 2004 Porsche Boxster S is finished in Speed Yellow over a Black full leather interior. It features a 3.2-liter flat-six engine, a 6-speed manual transaxle, optional 18” Turbo Look II wheels, heated and power-adjustable supple leather seats, a painted center console, painted roll bars, the Bose Sound Package, and an onboard computer. Fortified with an LN Engineering Single-Row Pro IMS bearing retrofit kit in 2016, the vehicle was purchased by its third and current owner in 2023 and has been driven approximately 3k miles since. This well-optioned Boxster S is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 26k miles showing on the odometer.
Finished in Speed Yellow with a power-operated black convertible top, the exterior features a Boxster S-specific front fascia, side air intakes, optional body-colored roll hoops, heated power mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and dual center-mounted tailpipes. Red Porsche-branded brake calipers are mounted behind optional 18” Turbo Look II wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The Continental ExtremeContact tires show production date codes from 2021 in the front and 2023 at the rear. The seller notes three small dings around the exterior and a few small stone chips on the front bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features premium Black full leather upholstery, optional heated and power-adjustable supple leather seats, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, and a body-colored center console. Other accessories include driver seat memory, power windows and door locks, automatic climate control, cruise control, an onboard computer, a CD storage compartment, and an aftermarket Pioneer Bluetooth head unit.
Factory-rated at 258 HP and 229 lb-ft of torque, the mid-mounted 3.2-liter flat-six engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transaxle. An LN Engineering Single-Row Pro IMS bearing retrofit kit was installed in 2016, and a pre-purchase inspection was completed in 2023. The CARFAX report shows the last documented oil service was completed in April 2024.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a tire inflator, a car cover, a battery trickle charger, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I love the car, but it’s time to step up to a Cayman!”

@Docdent36079 i did read that on the L&N web page. Given there has been on 13k since the upgrade and the car has had it’s yearly checks done by CDI i’m confident that the ims is in near perfect working order.

Doesn't LN recommend replacing every 6 years or 75k miles?

@puchoboy The receipt is on photo #72, 3/16/2016. The part number on the invoice exactly matches the LN Engineering single row bearing upgrade part. Also, the LN Engineering sticker with barcode is attached inside the hood and can be seen on photo #62.
Beautiful car! I just logged in and wanted to verify that in the first paragraph you mention that the IMS bearing has been retrofitted in 2016 but I didn't notice the maintenance receipt among the many posted. Great video showing the functionality of the convertible.
This bumper is really nice… gives the 996 gt3 vibes
@jeffreywyue46m3 i’m pretty store the 996 & 986 share the same front end but there was a face lift in 2002..
Agree with everyone on the yellow… now that front bumper… would that work on a 996 from 1999?

@zollerm 265/35-18
Rears..? Thanks.
@zollerm rears are 265/35-18
front 225/40-18 id say they still have about 60% tread life or 5k miles left on the and i believe the contis on the car now are 320 tread wear rating
Tire sizes? Thanks.
@CP_VT i accidentally left it open in the shoot. Nice observation!
@seller is the frunk closed all the way? It looks like the gap between the hood and bumper is really big. Do you know what's going on there?

Nice car
Beautiful Boxster S! How far back do you have maintenance records? 2 keys? Top functions normally? Have the spark plugs and drive belts been replaced at some point?
Thanks!
