Now available for auction is this 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo X50 Cabriolet 6-speed presented in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Graphite Grey full leather interior. Purchased by its current owner in 2014, this Mezger-engine Turbo highlights an original build sheet totaling over $149k which includes the highly sought after X50 Power Kit. Additional performance upgrades have also been installed including a Gemballa exhaust system and a stage 2 tune. Reported to be up-to-date on all due maintenance with several major service items already addressed, this 2004 Turbo is said to be in exemplary driving condition with approximately 55k miles showing on the odometer.
The Arctic Silver Metallic finish is noted to be in great shape with some minor paint chips and a small blemish on the black cabriolet top. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. A Smart Top controller has been equipped which allows operation of the cabriolet top while driving or when outside of the car. LED taillights have also been installed along with upgraded 997 Carrera Sport Design wheels which come wrapped in newer Hankook tires.
This Turbo features a Graphite Grey full leather interior which has been updated with an aftermarket Pioneer head unit. The interior is stated to be in good overall condition with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional, although the seller notes that the odometer reset knobs on the instrument cluster need to be replaced. Factory options include shifter and handbrake levers in aluminum and leather, heated front seats, and the aluminum/chrome package
The Mezger flat-six is regarded by many Porsche enthusiasts to be the ultimate water-cooled engine. This dry-sump GT1 derived design resists IMS bearing related issues, making it one of the most trusted Porsche motors of all time. This 996 carries a highly revered 3.6 L twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine which sends power to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The optional X50 Power Kit adds a revised ECU and exhaust system, upgraded K24 turbochargers and larger intercoolers which brings the factory output up to 450 HP. The X50 Power Kit offers what are essentially the same upgrades included in the following model year’s 996 Turbo S. Aftermarket performance modifications have also been installed including a short shift kit, Gemballa exhaust system and a stage 2 tune which is said to add up to 80 HP. The following service items are stated to have been carried out at 51,072 miles:
New pads and rotors were installed at 53k miles and the seller states that a recent service was carried out which included fluid and filter changes as well as new spark plugs. This Turbo is said to be up to date on all due maintenance and in excellent driving condition.
The sale of this 996 Turbo will include original books and tools, one key, a wind screen and service records from the seller’s ownership. If you are in the market for a 911 Cabriolet, this highly desirable 6-speed X50 Turbo makes a fantastic choice.
