Designated as a launch car for the 2004 model year, this Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black full leather upholstery and features a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine. It commanded an original sticker price of over $131k including optional heated supple leather seats, Porsche crested headrests, and the Aluminum/Chrome Package. This 996 was purchased by the seller from its previous owner in 2021 and has since received professional paint correction, ceramic coating, new tires, RSS semi-solid engine mounts, upgraded Bilstein PSS10 coilovers, and a Numeric short shift kit. Showing approximately 49k miles on the odometer, this Turbo Cabriolet is now being offered for auction out of Connecticut.
This 996 features wide Turbo-specific bodywork including side air intakes, unique bumpers, side skirts, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. The exterior is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and includes a black cabriolet top, xenon headlights, fog lights, red brake calipers, 18” 911 Turbo wheels, and optional stainless-steel exhaust pipes included with the Aluminum/Chrome Package. The front spoiler, radiator grilles, lower side skirt, and lower rear valence have been painted to match the exterior. The seller indicates a full paint correction and ceramic coating were performed in 2021 and the coating was reapplied in 2023 along with the installation of new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. One small scratch is noted on the front bumper cover and some rock chips can be seen on the hood. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black full leather interior features optional heated power seats in supple leather with Porsche-crested headrests. Carbon fiber trim pieces have been installed including a shifter, brake handle, and three-spoke steering wheel. The optional Aluminum/Chrome Package includes stainless-steel door entry guards, aluminum-look instrument dials, and aluminum inlays for the shifter and brake handle. Other accessories include power windows and mirrors, a remote central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, an onboard computer, a Bose sound system, and an aftermarket touchscreen head unit. The seller notes slight fading and cracks in the carbon fiber trim.
A twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine flat-six engine delivers 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Under the seller’s ownership, the car has been fitted with upgraded RSS semi-solid engine mounts, a Numeric short shift kit, and Bilstein PSS10 coilovers. A major $7k service was completed at a Porshe dealer in 2022 and an oil change was performed by an authorized dealer in 2024.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, a car cover, a battery charger, a clean title, and the original radio and CD player.
The seller would like you to know: “Very complete and solid Turbo cabriolet that has been well-maintained and improved under the current ownership. Runs and drives perfectly. I've enjoyed every minute of owning it and it has never let me down.”

Dammit, I got tied up at the last minute...grrrr.

@jmorin You may be right because I have seen unpainted as well. I do know this was a launch car (Option code 762) so they may have added some extras under that package. I am not sure what that package entails. I am guess the carbon fiber trim is included in that since it is not called out on the build sheet either. Seat photos have been uploaded. Let me know if you need anything else. Thank you!

@MrT2023 Pretty sure it was an option, but regardless. I may well be wrong. Lots of pics of 04 cabs out there with black slats. It looks good. Yes, please on the left bolster pic.
@jmorin The slats and the front splitter came painted on the cabriolets, but not on the coupes. Just FYI. Do you still want the bolster photo?
@MrT2023 LEFT bolster, not the right one :-)
@MrT2023 Thanks for the info. Fyi, the bumper has been painted, because the slats are black from the factory. The side skirts and trim piece under the rear bumper have also been painted. These were available from the factory painted, but it would be on the option sheet and isn't. It looks good, was just curious what if anything else had been done. Paint meter readings are generally suggested for auctions...maybe something for next time if this doesn't meet reserve. GLWTA.

@jmorin No problem! I just uploaded some driver's seat photos. Let me know if you need any other photos. I purchased a new front splitter last year and had it painted at a local shop. I am unaware of any other paint work the car has had. When I had paint correction done, I was told it all looks original paint. For whatever that is worth.

@MrT2023 Thanks, and sorry again for the late-auction fire drill. Are any of the interior parts other than the stereo and CD player available? I see the front splitter, bumper, and rockers have been painted. Any other paintwork on the car? Can we get a more direct picture of the driver's seat left bolster? Thanks.
@jmorin I just posted some undercar photos from the rear that I just took. No leaks anywhere currently. Car was just serviced at Porsche Wallingford (here in CT). Nothing noted as a concern. Always solid oil pressure when driving as well. Feel free to ask anything additional and I will give you any information I can.

@MrT2023 Any leaks underneath (some seem to be noted in the carfax) or corrosion anywhere other than the exhaust?
@jmorin I appreciate the feedback and that was an oversight by me for sure. I can tell you the car's history is all Texas and Florida. I am the first owner in the northeast and the car is covered and not driven between November and April.
@MrT2023 I realize it's too late to be actionable, but it's really hard to sell a car in these online auctions without any underneath pictures. Especially when you are in the snow/salt belt.
