Based on its roadgoing counterpart with a 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine, the Porsche 996 GT3 Cup is a purpose-built factory race car developed for the Porsche Supercup series. The updated 996.2 version was introduced in 2002 featuring improved aerodynamics, cooling, and weight savings along with a more powerful engine rated at 375 HP. This 2004 example was reportedly raced in Europe before being acquired by the current owner in 2016 and is now being offered for auction once again on PCARMARKET with approximately 22k kilometers showing on the odometer.
This GT3 is finished in White and features a front bumper with a splitter and upper cooling vents, side skirts, aerodynamic racing mirrors, and a fixed rear wing. Other equipment includes lightweight Lexan windows, rear window bars, hood and decklid pins, an emergency cutoff switch, a front tow strap, a rear tow hook, yellow-tinted headlamps, dual center-mounted tailpipes, red brake calipers, and center-lock 18” BBS racing wheels. The seller indicates the Pirelli tires that are currently mounted have 3 heat cycles, and two extra sets of wheels are included with additional racing slicks and rain tires. A small damage is also said to have been sustained to the left rear quarter during a club racing event in 2023.
The lightweight racing interior includes a full roll cage and a Recaro racing bucket seats with a Schroth safety harness and window net. Other accessories include a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, a fire suppression system, a cool suit system, a lap timer, and a digital MoTeC data display with GPS finish line detection.
The naturally aspirated 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine was rated at 380 HP and 280 lb.-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels. The seller states there are currently approximately 60 hours on the engine and 31 hours on the transmission. The braking system includes fixed 6-piston front calipers paired with 350mm cross-drilled discs. The car is also equipped with adjustable suspension components and motorsport-tuned ABS. The seller indicates the car has been professionally maintained with services after each race. Additionally, new brake rotors have been fitted.
This sale will include additional wheels, owner’s manuals, a jack, and a bill of sale.
The seller would like you to know: “The car is available for inspection, there are a couple of professional places near Holmdel, New Jersey. Please let us know if there are any questions you have, thank you.”

I could not find the engine and transmission hours but now I see them at 60 and 31 respectively. Added later or maybe I was blind...which is entirely possible and not a good omen for my racing career! If I understand correctly these are both roughly 2/3rds the way to refresh/rebuild hours? Searching brain and bank for justification and means to track this car...
GT3E in HSR good group with nice variety of cars and brands.
Car is eligible to run in group 10 with HSR
(Historic Sportscar Racing). Great group that is competitive but respectful of the machinery.
Any info on its racing history in European super cup? Trying to figure out how eligible this may be for historics now that they seem to be letting them in. Thank you.
Bid in the amount of $30,000
@wab_jr Yes the car has only one seat
The passenger side is occupied by the cool suit equipment
@uscarrera my apologies I will look for it
@PCM & seller-
From the description above:
“… and a Recaro racing bucket seats”
Is there more than 1 seat included with the car or should this read “seat” singular?
I must be blind and/or stupid but I just don’t see hours on engine and gearbox listed can you highlight where that info is located in description. Thanks
@uscarrera no the dent is not repaired.
the engine and transmission hours are as listed and yes, the logbook is available
@wab_jr yes the air jacks are functioning.
@Lundclan the Tork wrench is not included in the price . The seats are good for 2 more years or you can install a back brace. the car has been very well maintained nothing in need of immediate attention.
The car has been great fun for me and i have fait it will be a lot of fun for you too.
@uscarrera I see it too. Perhaps partly under the sticker also. Does not look too bad.
What are the dates on the seat, next, harnesses and fire system?
What does not work perfectly?
What needs maintenance or repair?
Center lock wrench and fuel safe jugs come with the sale?
Not trying to be a pain. I would really love to own/operate one of these fi I could manage it. I have a 996 street car converted to look just like this but the real thing would be much better?
Does this have working air jacks?
Can you say how many hours on engine and gearbox? Any log books? Are dents repaired on left side quarter or are they visible in front of Pirelli sticker on read quarter?
Thanks
