The Porsche 996 Targa is among the rarest versions of the 911 lineup, combining an open-air driving experience, impressive structural rigidity, and the first opening rear hatch on any Porsche 911. Powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, this 2004 example is finished in Polar Silver Metallic over Black leather upholstery. It was also selected with flared rocker panels, the Xenon Headlamp Package, Leather Sport Seats, aluminum interior appointments, and the Bose High-End Sound Package. Acquired by the seller in 2009 and garage-stored since this Targa is now available for auction out of California with less than 53k miles showing on the odometer.
Equipped with a sliding glass roof system and an electrically operated sunshade, the Targa also features a rear window that opens like a hatch for convenient access to the storage area. This example is finished in Polar Silver Metallic and optioned with flared rocker panels, the Xenon Headlamp Package, and 18” light alloy Carrera wheels with color-crested center caps. It rides on Michelin Pilot Sport tires mounted in 2009. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with a CARFAX report noting minor damage in June 2019.
Inside, the driver is situated within a Black leather interior featuring optional Sport Seats, an aluminum and leather-trimmed shifter and brake handle, and Black floor mats with Porsche lettering. The Bose High-End Sound Package was additionally opted for. All gauges and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine, which delivers a factory-rated 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in approximately 5 seconds while stopping power is facilitated by fixed 4-piston brakes and ventilated discs at each corner. The seller notes the rear seal is slightly leaking. Additionally, the CARFAX report shows a total of 22 service history entries.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I have owned this car since late 2009. It is in excellent condition for its age and has been garaged since my ownership.”

Bid in the amount of $7,800
I like the fact that the current owner has owned it, garaged it and hopefully maintained it lovingly since 2009.
Have you gotten estimates for the cost to do the leaking rear main seal and anything else that should be done to bring it up to fully “fit for service/up to snuff “ etc. at this stage of its life?
@seller - for the less informed (like me), can you explain further the comment “ The seller notes the rear seal is slightly leaking.”?
Thx
Do you have the paperwork from when the car was fixed from the minor accident? Can you include the paperwork with this advertisement? And just one key then? And the IMS bearing has not been changed, correct? Can you add a picture showing the operation of the Targa top, too? Thank you!

The vehicle year has been corrected.

The tittle says 2003, the write up says 2004, which is it? Anyway tires need to be replaced and I guess you would wait for the RMS till it’s time for clutch and IMs bearing. Nice looking hatch car.
