Finished in Lapis Blue Metallic over Grey Natural Leather upholstery, this 2004 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Cabriolet features an extensive list of factory options contributing to an original sticker price of over $136k. It was factory-equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), the X51 Carrera Power Kit, Xenon Headlamp Package, Advanced Technic Package, Dark Wood Interior Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, Parking Assist System, heated supple leather seats, leather sun visors, and more. This 996 was purchased by the seller’s friend from its original owner out of Santa Fe in 2016 and was later acquired by the seller in March 2023. Recently fortified with a new clutch, flywheel, and upgraded IMS bearing, this highly optioned Carrera 4S Cabriolet is now being auctioned out of New Mexico with under 15k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to the standard 996 Carrera, the 4S version features 911 Turbo-style bumpers and rockers, wider fenders, and a unique rear reflector strip spanning the taillights. This example is finished in Lapis Blue Metallic with a Metropol Blue cabriolet roof. Equipment includes dual exhaust outlets, a speed-activated rear spoiler, optional bi-xenon headlamps, yellow ceramic brake calipers, a cabin wind deflector, and factory 18” 911 Turbo wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The rear model designation has been removed and paint protection film is applied over the front end and mirrors. The car rides on Michelin Pilot Sport N3 tires from 2016. A small area of paint protection film is separating on the lower front air dam and the seller indicates two very small chips are present just beyond the film line on the front end. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features premium Grey Natural Leather upholstery complemented by the optional Dark Wood Trim Package and additional trim covering the rear center console, shifter, brake handle, and three-spoke steering wheel. Other options include leather sun visors, heated supple leather seats, self-dimming mirrors, the Parking Assist System, Bose High-End Sound Package, and Porsche Communication Management II (PCM 2). The seller states that the wood veneers remain in excellent condition, although several small pieces became loose at the windshield and are included separately in an envelope.
Available under Porsche Exclusive option code “X51”, the Carrera Power Kit provides the 3.6-liter flat-six engine with a 25 HP gain using revised cylinder heads, pistons, exhaust manifolds, modified valves, larger lift camshafts, an additional radiator, a more robust oiling system, and an upgraded aluminum air intake. Up to 345 HP is sent to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, while stopping power comes from optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) derived from the 911 GT2. The seller indicates a new battery has been installed and service in 2023 included an upgraded LN Engineering IMS bearing, a new clutch, throw-out bearing, and flywheel.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, a battery charger, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Well bidders, here is your chance to pick up a collectible from a seller who is not a collector. I bought this car from a good friend to drive and enjoy, but soon after purchasing it, I learned that this wasn't just a 'driver'. It was a keeper in the air-conditioned garage, cover it, pamper it, and 'don't drive it too much' car. I don't enjoy owning a car to just watch it gain in value. I'm not a collector so I'm going to sell this beautiful car and find one that will beg me to drive and to enjoy it! Good luck to you all...collectors or otherwise.”

As for the deleted rear badging, I happen to feel that this particular year was a little over stated, especially for its relatively narrow location….I love the look.
As for the entire oem clutch assembly being replaced simultaneously with the IMS correction that was all my choice.
also why was the clutch replaced with such low mileage? Is the replacement clutch / flywheel OEM or different?
is the deleted C4S badge included? lol

I’m glad you asked Bagger, Pictures of the work orders will be posted tomorrow along with a picture taken through the windshield down to the wood pieces that I mentioned needed to be reinstalled. The windshield picture is the only perspective where you can even see the pieces. The wood is so obscured by location that I never felt compelled to bother with the reinstallation.
Previous owner had them meticulously saved in an envelope and they will be in the same envelope for the new buyer.

Appreciate the videos bobcat. Is it possible to scan the service records, or at least the last few years, with regards to the clutch, IMS bearing upgrade and flywheel replacements?
Oil changes, brake flush, spark plug, belts, and other maintenance records?
Also, pictures of the loose wooden trim pieces that are mentioned?
Thanks.
Are there any front floor mats? Thank you.

No issues what so ever on the operation or condition. I will try and get a video of the top in operation soon.
Any issues with the convertible top opening or closing? Any chance of a video of top operation and a closeup of the top? Thank you.
No DME report but a ECU scan was done at the time of the IMS / clutch assembly work which showed no codes and no over rev issues.
Bid in the amount of $10,996
Really nice! Not many miles but do you have a DME report? Thank you.

What a spec! Stunning car… first time i see grey natural leather in direct sunlight, i have a 40AE and they all come with grey natural leather, but most of the time it comes off as light black in a coupe. These pictures highlight the beauty of that premium interior. GLwA!
It's an interesting spec. Not all of it will suit everyone, but there can't be too many manual X51 Cabs with PCCBs. And this example looks to be very well taken care of. Glwa! Hope this finds the right home and seller finds their right driver!
