We are pleased to offer this 2004 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Coupe finished in Black over black full leather upholstery. Bridging the gap between the Carrera and 911 Turbo in Porsche’s model range, the Carrera 4S offers naturally aspirated power along with an all-wheel-drive system, widened bodywork, lower suspension, and larger brakes. This 6-speed 2004 Coupe was sold new in Georgia with factory Custom Tailoring and several desirable options including painted air intakes, the Sport Exhaust System, Aluminum/Chrome Package, and more. It was acquired by the seller in 2018 and is said to have received an IMS bearing replacement under prior ownership. Now showing approximately 72k miles on the odometer, this Carrera 4S is being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This Carrera 4S comes finished in nonmetallic Black with factory-painted front air intakes and 18" Turbo wheels. Exclusive stainless-steel tailpipes are included with the Aluminum/Chrome Package, and the optional Xenon Headlamp package was equipped along with a rear window wiper. The Carrera script logo has been removed from the rear in favor of a centered "4S" badge. The Sumitomo tires show date codes from 2017-2018, and the seller reports light curb rash on two of the four wheels. A removable tint has been applied to the taillights and several light rock chips are noted throughout the exterior, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black full leather interior comes fitted with exclusive stainless steel door sills guards and aluminum-look instrument dials as part of the Aluminum/Chrome Package. Other options include the Bose High-End Sound Package, a remote 6-disc CD changer, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM II). Full power accessories come standard along with dual-zone automatic climate control and power seats with driver memory settings. The heat is said to work well, although the air-conditioning system is due for a recharge.
The naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six engine is rated at 315 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission, and stopping power is provided by fixed four-piston brakes derived from the 911 Turbo. The optional Sport Exhaust System provides a louder, more aggressive tone. Standard performance features include Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD). The IMS bearing is said to have been replaced by a prior owner, and the seller reports standard routine maintenance to have been kept up to date throughout their ownership.
This sale will include a clean title. If you have been in search of a 6-speed Porsche 996, this well-optioned Carrera 4S is not to be overlooked.

@asgdiversified Nice car hopefully will do well in the final minutes. As far as having only one key. Not a big problem at all. Don’t listen to the rubbish about only one machine in the US can cut Porsche keys. The guy at ACE hardware in my town has done 3 for me. I highly recommend that the potential winner get a second key ASAP. Because obviously if you miss place it all you have is a big motionless paper weight.

Good to see the docs for $6800.00 prep work for the auction plus verification for the LNE dual row bearing, a bank vault solid piece good for another 75K miles.
Bidders, have at it.
It appears the bidding to this time (aprx 30 hrs to go) is indicative of the unsatisfactory presentation (pictures & documentation) for this C4S. What the seller has provided is okay, but more is needed for bidders to be assured. @asgdiversified - make an effort to in the time left to upload all docs for service/imsb,etc. Additional pics would also help bidders. Good luck.

@Blubusdrvr I will provide this info asap. i am trying to upload the maintenance/ims files but they are not reflecting as live for some reason. I dont see the brand of the IMS on the paperwork.
Bid in the amount of $9,962
Andrew, can you provide information about the IMS replacement (paperwork, deck lid sticker/serial #, etc) and any other service records. What brand IMS was used? Was the clutch/RMS replaced at the same time?
@jls356guy hey, only work done during my ownership is the taillight tint, and recently performed a clay bar and wax job with paint correction. ive only put about 2000 miles on her since purchase
@asgdiversified, what work have been done during your ownership, and do you have receipts for any prior work?

@68912Porsche I'll be more than happy to take it to a shop of the prospect buyer's choice for a pre-purchase inspection. Or I can use a third party source to come to my home and inspect it on site. Whatever you're most comfortable with!
@68912Porsche I’m aware of the expectation, my point is I would like to think we are all gentlemen/women and reasonable accommodations can be made. Thx
@68912Porsche I know. It’s just that any inspections are usually done before bidding and auction close. Once the auction closes the hammer price is the agreed price and the transaction should take place barring any negligence on the seller. My point is that if you bid you should be prepared to buy.
@Flyinace2000 sorry, I was asking the seller
@asgdiversified thank you.
hey all i have added more interior pictures. i will upload maintenance records shortly!
@CylinderHead seems like that in the picture but everything is original!
@68912Porsche absolutely, i would expect any buyer to perform a pre-purchase inspection!
@68912Porsche Your bid (if above reserve) is the agreed price. Inspections should be done before bidding or close of the auction.
Is that airbag new? Color is a bit darker than the rest of the steering wheel.
Question: if I was to win the auction and we agreed on the price, would it be possible to have ppi done at a reputable shop in your vicinity, at my expense, prior to actual purchase?
Bid in the amount of $2,500
@Mercyhealth thank you for your feedback. I will upload more interior pictures along with the maintenance history documents. Also as mentioned in earlier comments, the buyer will receive this vehicle with aircon in functional condition and i will provide documents for the repair, whatever it is. Thank you!
@Txporsche hey thank you so much for your feedback. the car has truly been taken care of all of its life, the ac issue will be taken care of prior to the new buyer. Its still cold, but not as cold as it should be. Im sure its a minor fix, however regardless if its a sensor or a replacement of a part, i will get it handled. Also, I will upload all of the maintenance/ims documentation later this evening. There is a sticker on the bottom of the engine deck indicating IMS replacement. Thank you again for your feedback!
@Flyinace2000 hey, the ac was perfectly fine up until about 3 weeks ago. I'm sure its something minor, I just simply haven't gotten around to it as I've been traveling....however the buyer has my word that I will take care of the ac issue before delivery of the vehicle!
@asgdiversified since the auction is over 5 days away from the block I think more photo documentation is necessary. You have only 6 interior pics that I can see. Please see the link below from the owners of Pcarmarket about proper photographic presentation. Also you have time to diagnose and maybe fix the aircon. At least figure out what needs to be done. Last time I purchased a 996 I was told that the AC worked. Unfortunately it worked only after a 1,600.00 dollar repair bill.

@Txporsche yep, took me a while to diagnose my AC problem, was one of the temp sensors buried behind the center dash that I found faulty. Once replaced, all was cold.
@asgdiversified nice car. I have a 2004 4S manual transmission and same color with the PSE option and about the same mileage. Great looking car. Best wishes in the sale.
Andrew
In the interest of transparency, there is no such thing as “due for a recharge” on an A/C system. You should have.it looked at.by a repair shop/dealer and get it fixed. A prospective buyer has no clue how much money it takes to get it repaired. It it could be a minor Freon leak or a compressor failure or anything in between costing a few hundred to thousands. You are better off having it working properly for the buyer.
In addition, if the IMS bearing has been properly replaced, there should be a sticker on the engine deck lid or other prominent place on the car as well as an invoice substantiating the repair. This is a critical repair which must be documented. A potential engine rebuild could cost $20k. Helping the buyer with this important info will increase your sales price.
Good luck. These are great cars when cared for.
I currently own a 2003 C4 Cab.
What’s up with the AC? Is the “recharge” diagnosis yours or a shop’s? Great looking car :-)
Hello all, my name is Andrew and I am the proud owner of this beauty. I'm here to answer any questions and provide support through out this sale. Was not planning on parting ways with her this early, but life calls! She drives just as you can imagine, and is practically a time capsule from 2004. I remain at your disposal. Thank you and happy bidding.
