The 4S Cabriolet represented the ultimate Carrera in Porsche’s model range sporting unique wide bodywork, an all-wheel-drive system, and premium equipment. This 2004 example comes finished in Polar Silver Metallic over a Metropol Blue full leather interior and features supple leather seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, colored Porsche crested wheel caps, and more. Initially delivered in Newport Beach, California, this 4S is accompanied by a detailed CARFAX report showing ownership throughout California and is now being offered for auction with approximately 63k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to a standard 996 Carrera, the 4S includes wider fenders, side skirts, and red-painted brakes derived from the 911 Turbo as well as a model-specific reflector spanning between the taillights. This Cabriolet is finished in Polar Silver Metallic (58V2) with a grey convertible soft top. The factory 18” 911 Turbo wheels feature optional colored Porsche crested center caps and come dressed in General GMX tires with 2019 and 2021 date codes. The seller notes minor signs of road wear at the front end. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with premium Metropol Blue full leather and optional equipment including supple leather seats with Porsche-crested headrests, driver’s seat lumbar support, and the Bose High-End Sound Package. Standard amenities include a leather-wrapped shift knob and handbrake, automatic climate control, a rear window defroster, cruise control, and power windows. The seller adds that an upgrade JVC stereo has been installed with Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Carrera 4S is powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six engine rated at 315 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission. The CARFAX report shows extensive service history records dating back to 2004. The latest entry includes an alignment and tires balanced in July 2022.
This sale will include a clean title.

Viking H- Hey Karl, I’m tempted, this would look
great next to the Aston I bought from you ?
Bid in the amount of $24,500
@vikingh sorry in advance... I'm sure I'm simply missing this info when searching...but what is most recent replacement if rotors, pads and tires, with wear on each, please? Thank you for any duplication.

@Rlanning I'll get the pictures together shortly. The car presents well and looks like a 20k mile car truthfully.

Please show in more detail the “road wear”mentioned in the opening comments and pictures of the complete underside. To me, and I have seen many paint meters on this site and those numbers are higher than the norm 4.5-5.5 that I am used to seeing on this site. Thanks, Rlan
I am interested in this car and the combo it brings to the mkt, but no oil change since 12,700 and a 5 yr void , not even an emission report til 36K.. I have seen lots of Carfax reports but never with this much info missing on the report. Maybe the shop the second owner used could clear up this discrepancy for all of us. Thanks, Rlan

@Rlanning good afternoon, I'm told car was serviced, but the previous owner did not supply receipts. that said it is obvious it was taken care of and on my inspection all fluids were clean and it needed nothing.
On Carfax, it appears that from 16K miles to 36K miles there is no information. Could you please fill in that data? Thanks, rlan

Has the auction been paused?
@VikingH Thank you for the response. This is certainly a well-kept and well-presented example.
@Jn5 I have seen variations of paint gauges over the years ranging from 3.5 to 8 on Porsches, although most seem to be 4.5-5.5. That said this is consistent, and there is no evidence of any paintwork on this car.
Beautiful car. Can someone please educate me on the paint meter readings? They are consistent but seem to be a little thick? Comparing to those shown on the 996 turbo coupe that was sold by the same seller, and presumably measured using the same meter.
@VikingH people need to do their research on the IMS bearing. If a 20 year old car that rides and drives excellent hasn’t had an issue yet, it is almost certain to not have the issue. If you talk to long time Porsche service techs they say you could cause more problems than help by replacing it unnecessarily at this point. I have a 2003 Targa 6 speed that is amazing with 0 issues with 70k.
@Bilinski4447 good afternoon, there is a pretty solid history of service on the carfax, however no data that the IMS bearing has been done. They car does run and drive amazing and is up to date on it's current service.
IMS bearing replaced?
