Up for auction is this limited production 2004 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe 40th Anniversary. This edition was built by Porsche to commemorate the 911’s debut in 1963. Being #951 of just 1,963 examples produced, this car represents an incredible value at a palatable price point. Taking it a step further this example also features a freshly LN Engineering IMS bearing upgrade, untouched luggage set, and extensive service history, making it that much more special. Sold new at Hoehn Porsche in Carlsbad, CA, the car has remained in California for most of its life. Just recently was it sold to the current seller who resides in New York. Now showing 58k miles on the odometer, it is being offered in excellent condition with a clear title.
The 40th Anniversary 996 comes loaded with unique features and style cues that separate it from the rest of the 996 line up. For instance, each car received a build number and was finished in GT Silver Metallic (first used on the Carrera GT of the same year). The body itself offered special enhancements such as the aero/GT3 rocker panels, Turbo front bumper with painted grills, special high-gloss 18” 5-spoke wheels, and bespoke badging. To further distinguish the 40th Anniversary as a collector edition vehicle, a luggage set was created from factory and will be included with this sale.
This example is said be in excellent overall condition with only a few noted flaws including a couple of small chips on the front-end, small scrape mark on the front bottom plastic spoiler, and a few very minor scratches. According to the seller, the car still retains it’s original factory paint which is backed up by the clean Carfax report.
The bespoke black leather interior also shows to be in excellent condition with minimal wear. The 40th Anniversary theme is carried throughout the interior with special design elements such as: full special textured leather sport seats, #951/1963 badge, GT Silver painted tunnel console, and more. When delivered new, this 911 carried an MSRP of over $95k. In addition to the long list of standard extras that come with the Anniversary model, this particular example was ordered with Heated hard-back sport seats with GT Silver rear shells, rear window wiper, Bose high end sound system, remote CD changer and Porsche communication MGT II.
Power comes from a normally aspirated 3.6L M96/03 flat-six engine that is paired with a 6-speed G96/01 manual transaxle and mechanical limited-slip differential. Another standard and extremely desirable factory option of the 40th anniversary is the X51 Power Kit package which includes a modified intake manifold, larger exhaust manifold, altered camshafts, modified valve timing, and a reprogrammed DME control unit. The result is a hearty boost in power taking the stock 320HP to 345HP. In November of 2017, this car received an LN Engineering IMS Solution Oil Feed Bearing Kit, a new clutch disc, pressure plate and flywheel, a new rear crankshaft seal, and a new serpentine drive belt. The car passed a California emissions test in June 2018. Included with the sale is a detailed service file back to 2007. Overall, this Carrera is said to be in excellent running condition.
The sale will include extensive service history, bespoke luggage set, factory books, two sets of keys, a clean Carfax, and a clean Texas title.

@905Yorktownedr I believe that your card will NOT be charged. It was run through so that you could bid. I'll let PCARMARKET go over the details but I am certain you will not be charged for just bidding on the car. Sorry for the confusion.
(trying this comment again - first one didn't go through)
@DriverM Congrats on the sale! @ilikeporsches Congrats on the win! Please check out the 911 40th Registry website and shoot us a note so that we can get in touch with you to add you to the Registry. Put "40jahre911" into your browser and you'll find it (can't seem to get the link to work in the comments). Also, @adamk911 - which 40th is yours? We've probably already been in contact but I just don't recognize the user name. Thanks!

We own #583 and absolutely love it, buyer will not be disappointed. 996's are finally getting the love they deserve. IMS has been fixed, sport seats, luggage....this car is a great buy. Only 996's that are rarer would be GT2/3 variants, future collectability on these is very high and they make outstanding drivers

as an owner of a 40th anniversary 996 I felt compelled to note how important it is that this car comes with the luggage. Mine is missing and this is a very expensive item to replace and a very nice item to have.
@DriverM let me think about a fair bid
@Gabegolf You can fix that with one swift entry on your keyboard! :-)
You’re obviously way below your reserve
@Jonididthis2016 As stated, any flaw that is noted is not significant. It's all original paint and whatever flaws that exist are commensurate with a well cared for car with 58k miles.
A friend found the car on your dealer site & there were a couple other scratches noted?
Someone has asked for a copy of the receipt on the IMS repair. I have forwarded a copy of that invoice to Pcarmarket and expect it to be posted shortly. The car comes with an extensive documented service history. Please bid with confidence on this car!
I have spoken with Carfax and the correction has been made. The Carfax is now correct and accurate with no issues at all. Please bid with confidence.
@905Yorketowndr I hope that you are clear now. You won't be charged unless you win the auction. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.
@905Yorktownedr hello. You have not been charged. Your credit card has a hold for 5% of the bid amount for the auction service fee. If you win, the card will then be charged. Please read the “How it Works” section as it will help you to become familiar with the process. Thank you.
