Commemorating “40 Fast Years” since the original Porsche 911 was built in 1963, the Porsche 911 40th Anniversary is a limited-edition model with 1,963 examples produced worldwide. Based on the 996 Carrera, it comes finished exclusively in GT Silver Metallic over Grey Natural Leather upholstery and features the X51 Power Kit, a Turbo-style front fascia, Sport Suspension, Aerokit side skirts, bi-xenon headlights, a painted center console, an Alcantara headliner, painted hardback Sport Seats, and specialized badging. This example, #1,454, features a 6-speed manual transmission and has been upgraded with a new IMS bearing, clutch, rear main seal, and water pump in 2022. Showing approximately 78k miles on the odometer, this 911 40th Anniversary is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee.
The exterior is finished in GT Silver Metallic and features a Turbo-style front fascia with painted intake grilles, Aerokit side skirts, and a “40 Jahre Limited Edition” rear badge. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, heated power mirrors, an electric sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual polished exhaust outlets, black Porsche-branded brake calipers, and aftermarket 19” wheels dressed in Pirelli and Michelin tires. The CARFAX report shows minor damage to the right rear bumper in 2016, and the seller states there is no evidence of paintwork. Noted imperfections include some rock chips on the hood and front bumper, a small ding on the front right fender, and some scrapes and oxidation on the outer rims. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features Grey Natural Leather upholstery accented by GT Silver Metallic painted center console, dashboard trim, and Sport Seat backrests. Other accessories include aluminum gauge bezels, heated and power-adjustable front seats, driver’s seat memory, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, and a black Alcantara headliner, automatic climate control, cruise control, a remote central locking system, a digital Hi-Fi sound system, and an aftermarket Kenwood head unit. A 911 badge plaque ahead of the shifter includes a plaque engraved with the car’s limited-edition production number.
Rated at 345 HP, the car’s 3.6-liter flat-six engine came factory-equipped with the X51 Power Kit, which includes a modified induction system, exhaust, camshafts, DME tuning, and an additional radiator. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The 40th Anniversary model comes standard with Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and Sport Suspension, which adds stiffer springs, shocks, and stabilizer bars. The seller notes aftermarket mufflers have been installed, and a service was completed in October 2022 including an LN Engineering IMS bearing retrofit kit, a new rear main seal, clutch, water pump, and a coolant flush.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a tire inflator, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “The 40th Jahre 911 was loaded out with everything Porsche had to offer the 996 at the time. It shared the GT Silver paint with the Carrera GT, had unique bodywork, and special leather. The X51 Powerkit and limited slip differential came standard and make this a true factory hot rod. This car has been well cared for and is a wonderful driving machine!”

You note brakes were done but no records..... were the rotors and pad done or just pads? Big difference.
@Bus No record of borescope. The car does not smoke, no odd audible noises, and it’s strong/smooth.
Thanks!

Hello, is there any information regarding oil analysis or borescoping?
@patsbimmer1 The exhaust is aftermarket. Had the stock factory x51 headers which are unique to the x51. But the mufflers are stainless aftermarket.
Thanks!

Sorry, I can't edit my previous comment but my question is, is the exhaust factory, PSE or aftermarket?
The write up says "exhaust" as what's included in the X51 but I thought the PSE was optional on the power kit and I don't see it in the option codes. I'm not too familiar with the PSE looks like but that doesn't look stock to me.

@BR356 I have a set of engine mounts on order that will be installed before the car goes to the next owner. I noticed some slop on the drive. No history on the shocks. Brakes have been done recently but I do not have the records for it.
The car runs and drives very well.
Thanks!

In service records.... were the engine mounts replaced? Note right rear exhaust pipe drops when starting in the cold start video. Where shocks replaced? brakes done?
Thanks Nice driver........

@Miles.S ok, thanks Miles
@vido Not much info on the minor damage other than it was minor which is usually just small cosmetics as listed on the Carfax.
Thanks!

@Autotrend Do no have the original wheels. Unfortunately they are very susceptible and I corrosion. Almost all of the 40ths I’ve had have had oxidation issues. Hard to find clean sets out there. I am still looking and will update if able to find a decent set.
There are companies that will refinish them. A few ways to refinish them as well.
Short of the story, the car comes with the current wheels only.
Cheers,
Miles
please tell me you have the original wheels as well. they were unique to this model with a special finish on them.

Love these 40th Ann 996s. The best of the generation for the C2. Strong owners association and FB page as well.
POI, unless added by dealer or after sale, these do not have the 3rd center radiator. The standard C2 with X51 does, however the front turbo cap has additional airflow and the 3rd rad was not needed according to what I have read.
40th wheels are available new, Suncoast Porsche usually has a set, they run ~ 5k all in. This 40th doesn't have the 4 piece luggage set? They occasionally pop up on eBay, or through the owners club. Sport seats are a nice touch, and there were very few options offered otherwise.
Looks like a nice driver, GLWS
@Sevpuns Videos will be up this morning. I sent them over to Pcar. Getting a cold start this AM as I tried to get one yesterday but the camera was not rolling…
Do not have the original radio. The one in it now is a nice upgrade. Original radios are easy to find.
Thanks!
Miles
Will you be posting any cold start and/or driving videos? Is original stereo included?
@markbutlerinc Unfortunately I do not have the original wheels. Original 40th wheels are very prone to oxidation. Hard to find a good set but they are out there. I would like to see a set of turbo twists on it.
I just uploaded the DME report to the gallery.
Thanks!
Miles

Hi All!
Thanks for stopping in to see this 40th. I really love these cars. I have had several and they really feel special compared to normal 996s. The factory packed some very cool stuff into these. The X51 power package creates a nice punch. They are very rev happy and feel strong. Fun cars to drive.
This a nice example. Sport seats are rather rare to get in a 40th and complete the special leather interior. The car has had some good maintenance including the IMS bearing RMS and clutch which were done by a reputable shop here in TN. It runs and very well. I have two videos that are coming shortly, should be up this evening. I also have added the DME report to the gallery.
Shipping is available worldwide. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or requests. I can also provide a shipping quote. PPIs are always welcomed.
Thanks!

Nice build. Is a DME report available? Are the original wheels available as well?
