Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over Charcoal leather upholstery, this 2004 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. It was sold new by SJ Glauser Inc. of Sarasota, Florida, at an original sticker price of over $95k including the optional AMG Sport Package with 18” Alphard wheels. It also features heated and power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, wood trim, a convertible hardtop, xenon headlights, and Active Body Control (ABC) suspension. Cared for by a single family with just over 6k miles driven from new, this SL500 is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
The exterior is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and features the AMG Sport Package which adds a revised front spoiler, side skirts, and rear valence. Equipment includes a power-retractable convertible hardtop, front fender vents, xenon headlamps, fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, and 18” Alphard alloy wheels with three Michelin Pilot Sport tires and one mismatched Bridgestone tire. The convertible top hydraulic cylinders were replaced in March 2024. Noted imperfections include scratches on the left front wheel and a missing rocker panel cap on the passenger side.
The interior is appointed with Charcoal leather upholstery complemented by wood veneers on the door panels and center console. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable seats with memory, a black leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a cabin wind deflector, a COMAND infotainment system with navigation, a Bose sound system, and a remote 6-disc CD changer. The seller indicates the oil level and fuel gauges are inoperable, the LCD screens are damaged, the trunk floor insert is missing, and the controls on the driver’s door panel are loose.
Producing up to 302 HP and 339 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter M113 V8 engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels. Standard equipment includes Active Body Control (ABC) suspension, Automatic Slip Control (ASR), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and an electronic braking system with ABS. Service in 2024 included machining the cylinder heads, new head gaskets, a new alternator, two new batteries, and replacement ABC suspension hoses.
This sale will include a window sticker, an owner’s manual, original sales documents, service records, and a clean title. The CARFAX report shows a mileage discrepancy which resulted from a clerical error as the car’s ECU confirms the total mileage.
