Available for auction is a Mercedes-Benz 500 SL two-seater mini car that was built by Alpha Technology in Krakow, Poland as a scaled-down version of the R230 Generation Mercedes and was sold through FAO Schwarz toy stores. Scaled down to represent the R230 Mercedes body, the details of this mini car are intricate and accurate. Among the unique features of this mini car are its full lighting system and manual transmission with clutch pedal. 
The windscreen is in perfect condition with no scratches or cracks. The composite body is in excellent condition. A hinged boot lid allows access to the fuel tank and pull start at the rear of the vehicle. All headlights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights, and front/rear light lenses are in excellent condition. Inside, you'll find leatherette seats, a plastic and rubber steering wheel with an electric horn, a rubber shift boot, a rubber e-brake boot and handle, rubber pedal covers, and an original rubber floor mat in perfect condition. The tub and body attach to a steel box frame chassis with a rear-mounted 4-stroke Honda engine.

I remember walking into FAO Schwarz as a kid and seeing these by the escalator going up to second floor.
Wanted to add a little info. This example has never been started nor has she had gas ever put in the tank. Only recently has she come out of the crate she was sent in from Poland to the US back in the early 2000s. I wouldn’t say she is perfect but super close and about as new as one could find having never been used.
