Limited to just 1,953 examples in total, the 2004 Porsche Boxster S 550 Spyder Edition celebrates the 50th anniversary of Porsche’s iconic mid-engine race car. Wearing traditional GT Silver Metallic paint over special Cocoa leather, this special edition equips painted 18” wheels, painted interior trim pieces, a 6-speed manual transmission, lowered suspension, and a specially tuned 3.2-liter engine. This particular example, #703/1953, remained in California up until 2018 where it had spent over 14 years under the care of its original owner and was eventually sold to the third and current owner on PCARMARKET in 2021. Currently residing in Texas, this Boxster S is now being offered for auction showing just over 38k miles on the odometer.
The 550 Spyder Edition wears GT Silver Metallic paint, a unique polished exhaust finisher, a Cocoa brown convertible top, and painted 18” Carrera wheels. Some small imperfections are noted on the front bumper cover and hood as well as a few scratches in the driver’s door jamb and some curb rash on the wheels. A set of new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were mounted in April of 2021 at 33,850 miles. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report
The cabin is appointed with special Cocoa leather upholstery including Sport Seats and a three-spoke steering wheel with perforated grips. GT Silver Metallic painted trim lines the center console, dashboard, and instrument surround. The factory Bose High-End Sound Package is equipped, and the original head unit has been replaced with an upgraded Porsche Classic PCCM+ system. The door panel cargo lids have been replaced with new OEM parts and the seller notes some minor wear on the seat bolsters and door sill guards.
This Boxster S carries a 3.2-liter flat-six engine factory-tuned to produce up to 266 HP using a sport exhaust system. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. This special edition also came factory equipped with a lowered and stiffened suspension, sport shifter, and 5mm wheel spacers. Service carried out by Motion-Consulting LLC just before the current owner’s purchase in 2021 included an IMS bearing upgrade, an updated rear main seal (RMS), rear axle replacements, an oil service, power steering fluid flush, a new water pump with an upgraded brass impeller, new hood struts, and new convertible mechanism parts. The car has been driven approximately 6k miles since.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean title.

@Fipenna yes I still have the original stereo and yes it comes with the sale if the buyer wants it. There is a CD caddy with 4 drawers that is included as well.
Hello and good morning @MrKint,
I see in the services summary picture the stereo was replaced in march this year. Do you still have the original? Does it come in the sale?

Less than 24 hours before the auction ends. I'm here to answer any questions you have about the car. This model doesn't come up for sale very often so don't miss a chance to own this special Porsche!
@MrKrint My goal is to get back to SF as fast as possible. I am thinking three days. I like the idea of going through Denver. However, I would like to take the Breaking Bad/Saul visit to Albuquerque.
@Gregster56 Haha, fun question! It sort of depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I would have complete confidence in the car to take any route. For me, it would add some mileage but I would like to drive across Colorado so I could get some twisty roads in. That would also give me the chance to open it up across parts of Utah and Nevada. My other option is a little more direct so driving through West Texas into New Mexico to find some curvy roads to add some spice to the trip. I'd drive up the west coast to get to San Fran . What do you think?
Would you drive it from Leander Texas to San Francisco? If so, what route would you take?

I currently have an 08 MX-5 and an 03 Boxster base let's play this out and 6 days to go
@burnrubr No, there isn't any paint protection film on the car.
@burnrubr I did the same. It was worth it!!! It built my confidence in the car's reliability and performance.
Nice car. Hard to find these. Especially in the same state.

@manuals4ever Those scratches were on the car when I bought it so honestly I can't say how it happened. I thought about using Dr. ColorChip but was afraid it would look like I was trying to hide the scratches so chose to leave them as is. I have had success with Dr. ColorChip on other cars so it's a reasonable fix without having to spend respray money. Hope this helps.
any PPF at least on the front high impact areas?
Bid in the amount of $10,000
if I win this one I'll fly in to Texas and drive her home to New Jersey, that'll be a blast!
Bid in the amount of $550
Sweet 550 Spyder! looks well maintained...
can you comment on the how the scratches were made in picture 35?
This little roadster puts a smile on my face every time I take it out for a drive. It is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition and drives just like it was designed to do. You will not regret becoming the new owner. I am available throughout the auction to answer questions or provide additional information that you may require.
